Hey bro, I have a small proposal. You know how Phantom began Pokemon of the Week about a month ago? I was thinking that it may be a good idea to put all the PotWs into a subforum so that the Battling and Trading thread doesn't get cluttered. ^^
Sure thing. Logarithms are used particularly for statistical generation, such as in banking and finance, as well as in population trends. Logarithms were particularly created to make it easier to derive results from multiplication, division, and square rooting without a calculator, but this use has been made obsolete.
Of course, I'm skipping the most obvious use: a way to change bases. Bases 2, e, 10, and 16 are particularly important, as they're the languages of computers, calculus, everyday math, and again computers, respectively.
There is a severely out of date Classic version, but most people just regard it to be a demo of sorts nowadays. It lacks many of the features in the current version, but it's still a good way to gauge if you would like it: http://www.minecraft.net/classic/play
