We had a warm front recently... for about two days, and now it's cold and snowy again. But this is that really clingy snow that sticks to tree branches, and I live in a brick house with a maple tree in our yard so it makes it look like a postcard or something. x3
Well, I think we've finally moved past the oh-my-word-it's-so-freaking-cold period. X3 It's been cloudy and rainy, but that's the norm for this area. How's it been over there?
Oh, it was fine; we had some family over, they went out to an Indian restaurant for their Thanksgiving dinner (which was actually lunch; although Indian isn't my thing so I was antisocial and didn't come x3), and that's about it. We're not a very traditional family x3
Yeah. I love hanging out with my family, especially those of them that are visiting from Wyoming, but after a while of having three times the people that normally occupy this house, I need to take a minute to breathe. x3
Not yet, though I'm planning on getting it today. I'm glad my parents are letting meget it even though my birthday is in three weeks, and we usually have a no-buying-for-yourself-after-Halloween rule. X3
What about you?
Hoo boy. I hope the roads clear up in time. We haven't gottsn any snow over here, but we did get some freezing rain last week. Not fun.
There hasn't been a whole lot going on here; our homeschool classes/activities have finished for the Fall term; we're still working on getting everything packed over at the other house (work has been so busy for my parents lately that we haven't had a lot of time to get over there and work on it) and we're planning on having family from Wyoming over for Thanksgiving this year, so I'm excited for that. :3
Eh, not much is up, just putting up with all this snow we've had dropped on us here and hoping the currently-good weather right now holds out for my road test in a couple weeks.
Things have been going fine; we've unpacked most of our boxes by now and are really getting settled into the new house. I've also finally just started taking driving lessons, so that's cool.
Huh. I think this is the first time since we've had air conditioning since we moved from California. It usually doesn't get terribly hot over here (Mid-80's on average, I think) but It's nice to have the air conditioning all the same. x3
Huh, it's weird that not having central air is sort of a foreign concept to me. I've always had it, I still have it, and I think I'll be moving into a house that has it (it better have it, at least, given what we've paid for it). I think the only exception was the old 19th century house in the village, but we moved out of that when I was four years old; but given that the windows would rattle when the washing machine was running, I think a luxury like central air conditioning is a little out of that house's scope.
Also, the guy in my avatar is Kenta Nakamura from Initial D, and he is my favorite character from the series. He shows up once in a couple episodes of the first season (around episode 23 or 24, IIRC) and then suddenly becomes a recurring supporting character in the fourth season and that does loads for his characterization.
Ah, I see, glad to hear the move's been going alright. And if you want warmer weather, I'd be happy to trade with you; it's been HOT over here.
Things have been going well over here, we've sort of moved into our new house, though we're still working on getting everything packed. We're still renting the other house for now, so we have time. We decided to take it slow. x3 It's been pretty hot over here, as I mentioned before, but we have air conditioning in the new house, thank goodness. =w= Oh, and my Grammy and cousin came over to visit and help us move.
Oh, my cousin says he likes your avatar, though he thought it was was kinda creepy when paired with your earlier "hello" message. XD He was also wondering what the guy on your avvy is from, if you happen to know.
Things have been going fine; it's only a few more days until we move to the final house and most of our stuff is still in boxes. My sister and her boyfriend visited for a week before going back down to his house in Texas whereupon she'll fly back here, and... yeah, that's just about it. The weather has been really cold these past few days so none of us have been particularly thrilled about going outside.
Oh, you're moving too? Funny, the end of August is when we'll (hopefully) be moving to our new house. It'll definitely be interesting; my parents have lived out in the sticks for over 20 years now and so I've lived here all my life, and all of a sudden we'll be moving to rich person country on the outskirts of suburbia.
Oh boy. Sounds like you guys are like me and my family; we have a tendency to wait until the last little while before we seem to do anything REALLY productive. =w= Though hopefully it won't be like that when we're moving; we're mostly still in the paperwork part right now, though they did do the inspection stuff yesterday morning; From what my parents told me, the guy was really impressed at how good everything looked. I think we're still planning to keep renting the house we're in now until around the end of August though.
Don't worry about the late reply, I was out at a bonfire for a few hours anyway and only just returned. x3
Things have been pretty hectic lately... We've all been packing up to move house and the storms that have been passing through over the past few days have left us with nothing else to do.
...Oh yeah, you don't know about that yet, do you? Yeah, we've already sold our house and have one to move into, but the closing dates for them are six weeks apart so we have the hassle of finding a place to rent for such a short time, moving everything twice, renting a pod to store our stuff in, Craigslisting away anything of value that we don't want to move, finding a way to move three cars and a motorbike to two separate locations... and this is all happening in two weeks and our house still looks more-or-less as furnished as it was before we started rushing to pack everything away. =w=
(the late reply is no problem because I went to bed shortly afterwards anyway x3)
The trip is going well. We're just about finished with the "fun part" of the trip (i.e. Scotland) and we're going to head back to Glasgow, drop off the car, and catch a train to Wales. That's where the obligations of visiting family start. =w=
Also, I've officially fallen into a tourist trap and gotten a little Nessie beanie baby for my backpack. x3
Herro. :3 I probably shouldn't be up this late because I need to be heading back out to Glasgow early tomorrow morning (and boy, Enterprise will sure love how clean their car is! /s) but I am. x3
Another stunning view, this time from some mountain. Which mountain, I don't know, but there was a gondola going halfway up the tallest peak and footpaths going over to a couple of the lower peaks.
Sorry about the late reply, I haven't been on much lately; we've been attending an unschooling conference these past few days, and I've been busy with that. x3
We picked up the rental car (or 'hire car' as I feel obliged to say since I'm here x3) and drove over to the smaller town of Fort William with the B&B we'll be staying at for the next few days. We also got lost on a gravel road in the middle of nowhere... x3
Thanks! I'm actually really liking Scotland so far... not so much looking forward to the Wales and South England parts of the trip, but I still have a few days before that. =w=
It is pretty cool, especially as new things are added to the game. I've been watching the videos the map creator, lorgon111 (Who I've been watching for a long time now) talk about how he came up with the idea; playing Bingo in Minecraft wasn't exactly a new idea, but his idea was to use maps and command blocks to keep track of who got what.
Ah, sounds nice! My brother and I just finished playing a game of Minecraft Bingo... which explains the over-an-hour wait for a reply. Sorry 'bout that. =w=
Wow, sounds like it'll be quite the adventure then. I would say I'm envious, but I'd probably end up getting blisters pretty quickly and be miserable most of the way. x3 Still, I've always thought it'd be cool to go to England sometime.
Eh, we've tried all different brands of all different things and none of them are ever any better than the others. And thanks. :3 It's been a while since I last visited England (although we have to go there somewhat regularly because of family obligations) and I haven't even visited Wales or Scotland before, so it should be interesting.
(wow, the number of times we've said "interesting" in the past few conversations... x3)
*Looks at profile* Huh, yours is the day after my Mom's and my Grandma's.
Yuck, talk about bad luck... Maybe you guys should try different brands or something? Check Amazon reviews? x3
Oh, you guys are looking at houses too? My parents (and younger sisters x3) have been looking at houses in and around the area for the past couple of months. It's been kinda fun, seeing what my Mom can find.
The backpacking sounds like fun. I hope the preparation goes well!
Huh, that's interesting, that's the same week as my birthday.
As for me, well... my parents have been getting appalled at manufacturers for being so incompetent (really; our 3-year-old dishwasher is broken, our 3-month-old printer is on its last legs, and my mom's new treadmill was missing parts), we've been looking at houses to potentially move into, and we've been preparing for our upcoming backpacking trip across Great Britain.
Hm... Spring term for Homeschool stuff started again last week, and my Mom's and Grandma's birthdays are next week, so there's that... not much otherwise. x3 How about for you?
(No problem, it's not like I never reply late x3)
Funny thing is that after the power went out, I was midway through devising my plan of getting dressed and getting out in complete darkness when I realized the water was still running and turning it off first would be a good idea. x3
Ah, good ol' boredom. x3 Things are going pretty well here, I was looking through some of the videos one of the people I'm subscribed to on YT, and she mentioned a podcast that sounded pretty interesting, so I'm listening to it to see if it's any good.
Hey, random thing, but I just noticed that we haven't even registered each other as 3DS friends... my FC's on my profile and I've already added you so if you could return the favor so that we're "officially" registered as 3DS friends that would be great. :3
Ah, sounds like a fun game. I've kinda started playing Don't Starve again recently; it's a survival game that has a few similarities to Minecraft, except you can't really dig up the world around you and build things from it. It also has a way to an Adventure mode with a Storyline, though I haven't lasted long enough to get to that point yet.
Hmm. I haven't really bought a lot of games recently, but I've been having a lot of fun with the new Strider game on Steam; it's a sort of old-school 2.5D hack-and-slash. How about you?
Peanut Butter Patties. For whatever reason the other troops' spare cookies all went to my mom and now we're trying to sell them. I would send a box to Oregon if I could, but...
