I think it's because I'm really starting to embrace new Web technologies but can't use them due to older browsers, particularly @font-face. Well, I could add EOT for older IE, but what about older browsers that aren't IE?
"The Redmond based software company stopped issuing licences for the Windows 3.x operating systems on 1st November 2008. Microsoft maintained support for Windows 3.x until the end of 2001, and it has lived on as an embedded operating system until 1st November 2008."
I could've sworn I just said the same thing to Yoshi. Flash likes acting up on me when playing video in all browsers. I hate that piece of crap. I really do.
Hm, I guess I could point something out to you. If you know any good, simple, sans-serif fonts that are small, have a good license, and are ideal for the body text on a webpage, lemme know.
(Aaaaaaaand just done optimizing mobile layout! Now, I wonder how does one make embedded videos to have its width vary depending on the viewport width?)
(CSS3 makes making mobile layouts a cinch using the same sheet as everything else.)
Mainstream support lasts for a minimum of 5 years
Extended another five years
Version N+1 rule exists because SQL Server 2005 took too low to release so now mainstream support will end after 2 years of next product release if it does take longer than 5 years, which obviously happened with Windows XP
You might not want to rely on the CPU too much for web browsing these days. Or use nearest neighbourhood filtering. Really, the 3DS does have a great GPU to use. Maybe they need to have some lessons from the Safari team?
(I miss Opera. Nintendo, can we have Opera Software ASA back?)
Now, one serious question: What did you do so that vB3 stops making IE to act like IE7? I'm intrigued. (Seems like when a new vB3 forum is set up, something is also set up to make IE act inferior.)
