I don't know about you, but do you think it's weird for me to swear by DVD-RW, DVD+RW, and DVD-RAM for removable storage needs? I don't trust flash memory for some weird reason, even though they're much faster than the piddling 4x speed that my drives have.
It's probably because it's much easier to explain what these are for to most people that I know.
(Also, if you ever need a Blu-Ray player for your living room or home theatre, get a Sony or Panasonic. Plays almost everything. Bonus points for a PS3 as it also plays PS1 and PS3 games)
Seems like with a real radio, you can actually pick up stations that you're not supposed to pick up.
I've noticed some stations that aren't within the country... They need to have the antenna fully extended before I can get a perfect tune.
Of course, the bands are crowded up when you give it too many stations from three countries, so... If I want clear local radio I want the antenna to be folded up. Weird, isn't it?
Also, it felt very weird when I accidentally listened to what sounds like a two-way phone call in the middle of the night in a language that I couldn't understand
My smartphone has a 6.7Wh battery, the 3DS had a 5Wh battery (I'm going back to that), and my camera uses a 7.7 Wh battery. And the laptop has a 48Wh battery. The AA Eneloops I have... 3 Wh per cell.
Maybe I should try seeing things in a different way. You know, things seem to never change, but what if it's not really what we're seeing? Anyway, I think there's a lot of things that I don't know yet.
Another thing: I went to the nearest post office and I see something that might come in handy. Tracked, packaged delivery worldwide.
*wonders whether it's normal for the same song to sound better on a Nintendo DSi than his own laptop*
I'm using my DSi now, and my, although the backlighting is rather uneven compared to the 3DS (don't get me started on the fat DS), the screen has some impressive viewing angles for a TN panel :3
By the way, speaking of cameras, you should try to not get the latest possible model for a camera if you want to save some cash. You can get away with a body that's a generation old under most circumstances - and chances are you'll be able to find non-used models.
In other news, after going through over 10 photography equipment stores, I finally found a good deal on a new 55-210mm lens for my camera. I even just registered its warranty!
Hehe. The network provider I was planning to switch my mum to... has a lot of contract offers. Just in time to get my mum out of her useless network provider for her phone and give her HSPA+ or LTE when her previous was only giving him horrendous reception.
(All prices converted.)
It's going to be very interesting when you can have an iPhone 5 for $50 with (the most expensive) contract. I think I'll get it done once we clear out any outstanding bills (it's required before ditching ship), and then... try out phones. Or shop online. (My targeted network provider ships.)
Xperia Z is at around $330. Galaxy Note II is $510. Nexus 4 is $300. Galaxy S III Mini is $130 while the S III itself is $390.
Apple and Sony are making my life hard when it comes to picking a phone and keeping her old number.
