Good strategy. I went for Pokemon I've never used competitively as well, made for an interesting enough team I think. By the by, I'm unsure of whether or not you're meant to post the battle videos- one guy mentioned that you save 'em for the end, I think. Probably to stop people getting strategic advantages and whatnot.
