I followed your state of mind for skipping school and decided to say screw it, I'm just not gonna show to school for the rest of the week. >: )

1. Probably since I suck at games, my general play experience is frustrating and eventually has me in a mindset that makes me want to get the game over with asap. With books, I get a similar feeling(usually because I break immersion very often when I realize I'm just staring at a page with ink or whatever on it; reading on the internet is MUCH easier.), but usually to a lesser extent because there's no struggle in actually finishing a book. While American TV has pretty much turned to crap(with the exception of Breaking Bad), anime seems to be much better for storytelling, and it also has music(which books don't have)! And the best part is I don't have to deal with pacing, it's already set up for me. I can just sit through and watch, no stress at all(except when you get into the story. The struggle is real. >.<").
2. I can relate to story and characters MUCH easier, immersion is much more smooth, and it's a lot easier to actually care about what's happening. Now, of course I still enjoy a good fantasy or sci fi tale, but I think my enjoyment is much more smooth and real in realistic fiction, whereas I have to force myself into enjoyment with the other two genres. Maybe it's because I can appreciate this kind of life and this kind of world, just not MY life or MY world. I'm also a sucker for simple, yet artsy atmospheres. BT

I think I've recently come to two personal revelations:
1. I prefer anime and books (generally) a lot more to games, actually.
2. My favorite genres of anime and books (generally) are realistic fiction.

A bunch of childhood friends have separated from the death of one of their friends. It starts off with her ghost talking with one of their friends and they begin to connect once again because of her. There's a lot of depth with it and it's why I got so emotional yesterday.

We might as well give it a try. As a side note, a big issue for me is listening and identifying quality versus just a catchy tune. If I deeply look into the lyrics, I can see how one is probably superior to the other. But I usually am trying much more than I should be. Music isn't about deeply analyzing lyrics. It shouldn't be that hard to tell the difference.

Oh, and I do want to discuss something about music tomorrow. I often feel that although I want to have a life-long dedication to music, and possibly even a career that at least deals with musical purposes(such as musical software design, or possible a side career as a musician or something of that sort), I really don't understand it all that much. Part of it is not having been taught much of musical theory and the complexities of it all, but even when I'm listening to my iPod with all my focus I honestly can't build up a structure as to what I determine as the key elements of music that specifically make it good. I can do that with pretty much every artistic medium EXCEPT music. :I I know what I prefer and what I would prefer sounds like, but there's no real guide for my opinions. I just wish I could get a mental review of it all and hopefully be able to at least have a basic understanding for the mechanics of "good" music. I sometimes feel like it's a waste of time to even think about, that I'm just not that kind of person who "gets" it. Since you seem to have a fairly good idea about the fundamentals of music(though I don't know if that's true), I was wondering if you could talk me through that.
