I highly agree that netbooks are extremely handy. Mine works great as a "module" computer, like a second machine to easily connect to the network to host extra drives, while being an excellent commuting machine. And it was $300! Mine's not severely underpowered, though. It's just running on 2006 technology.

Cyndaquil's nose is too long (though it's still cute). Typhlosion is way too bulky for my liking. The body is too wide, looks kinda hunch-backed, and the limbs are stubby. Quilava is a perfect balance between the two. That's not to say I dislike typhlosion; it's a pretty good special sweeper.

YOU BLUE-SCREENED MY COMPUTER. Nah, it's cool.

The 403 is kind of confusing, though, because the 500-599 range is for server errors. 403 is for when the user doesn't have permission.

Hehe, I love getting bluescreens on computers that aren't mine. There is one exception to that: when the hard drive crashes while using it. It happened to me once, and System Restore only had one point, which was corrupted. I had to use the command prompt to backup the files to an external disk. When you're on vacation, ain't it great to "break" your aunt's computer?

What kind of dump files? There are various sizes of them. Some of them include just the base 640 KB of RAM, some include only the "active" RAM, some include the entire physical RAM, and some include all the physical RAM plus all the virtual RAM in usage.

You can modify the UI a fair bit if you know what you're doing. On my Mac, I've modified the default icons, the dock, some system text, and a little more, though I've seen people who have also modded the regular window design, system animations, and more.

Unfortunately, my drawing ability has been in a bit of a slump lately. I've actually made several attempts at drawing futachimaru, but none of them turned out good enough. Ethics was a heart attack for me. I thought I was gonna have a stroke. So many controversial subjects, so much stress. I just want people to get along. Sometimes it's a lose-lose situation, though--one topic in particular--where all I can do is defend my position or run. I can't speak my true opinion without being attacked with torches and pitch forks. It tears me apart at a fundamental level--do I lie to keep from offending others, or compromise my core values and become an outcast? Most of the time I'll just sit and take the abuse because if I assert myself, the situation just gets worse, people argue more, and nothing gets accomplished. Not like anything would be accomplished anyway. Controversial topics tend to be that way; There's no use arguing them, since neither side can be persuaded by the other.
    ... but enough about that.

I could probably be at the mall as early as 10:00. I'll probably just get up, get ready, and head to the mall.

I think it's just that the sugimori artwork is just a little... unflattering, if that's the right word. Mijumaru is 99% cute. The only improvement would be making the : ) smile a :3 smile (my brother calls it a butt-smile XD). In my pictures, I draw it with a :3, 'cause I think it's cuter.

Man-tears were shed during the reading of that comic. That's all the more I have to say about it.

As for my starters, the only starter I truly liked up 'till now was cyndaquil. None of the others were mammals except for chimchar, but it's a monkey (which is too much like a human). I like cyndaquil, but I love quilava. So much so, I won't let him evolve into a typhlosion, and he's at level 78! His offspring, though, was allowed to reach typhlosion status. The way I see it, every parent wants their children to achieve more than they did, am I right?

This comic is what did it for me. I heard a loud crack while I was reading it, and then I realized it was my heart. It was at that moment I decided I was going to break my tradition of always taking the fire starter and take Mijumaru.
I've drawn a few pictures of Mijumaru. I just wish I knew how to get them on my computer so I could show you! I've got this one where it's splashing around in some water... It's so cute!

I always wake up just a little before eight. Depending on the weather, we could go at any time. I prefer the day time, but with the heat index being up in the 110's, I don't know if that's a good idea. I'll kept tabs on the weather as the date approaches and let you know if it'll be too dangerous to be out in the midday sun or not. I WOULD like to be home by 11:00p.m., as I have church to go to the next day at 8:00 a.m.

Any day but Tuesday and Thursday. If that changes I'll let you know. It's too bad about your car. I'm sorry that happened. D:

That should work just fine. I keep my schedule wide open purposefully, just in case something like this happens. The only days that don't work for me are Tuesday and Thursday, as I have school on those days.

I normally don't like to do things late in the day, but due to my sedentary lifestyle I've lost most of my skin pigment (an most of my resistance to the daytime sun), so 4:00 sounds good to me. Once all the details are straightened out (where we'll meet up, how we'll recognize each other (I'm not nearly as beautiful and handsome as my avatar suggests)), just let me know. Thanks!

Well, let's see... that's a Friday, which would be a plausible day for me. I haven't been to worlds of fun in nearly five years. It's a bit embarrassing, but I'm scared of most of the rides ^_^; . But how could I pass up a chance to meet two other forum members in real life? I'd love to go, but I can't give you a definitive yes or no yet.
As for the more the merrier... I disagree a bit on that. I'm incredibly shy, and I tend to get drowned out and ignored in large groups. I work best in groups of three or four. Once the group exceeds seven, I start to feel left out because there's not enough time for me to say what I want to say before someone else says something.

Sorry, you probably weren't wanting such a long answer. I tend to over-explain myself when I'm typing.

I don't mind at all. I live in the Northeastern part of Kansas, near Kansas City.

It kinda grows on you after a while, and it's features you begin to take for granted. For example, every MacBook has two-finger scrolling (and the newer Macs with a full suite of multi-touch gestures). When given the opportunity, I always use two-finger scroll over a mouse wheel or a keyboard arrow key set. When I go on any Windows machine, though, I always find myself looking for some way to at least partially implement the missing feature. I also get the keyboard mappings confused when on a PC, since I use the keyboard for many key commands and what-not. On a Mac, it's always Command-something or Option-something. On a PC, it's always Control-something, which I find to be a less natural position that the former two. Then, there's the swap of the Windows key and the Option key; that always confuses me. So yeah.

At least it's something to look forwards to

You're welcome! I was actually about to write the MBP review now, but since you're just about decided... I would have recommended that anyways

Overall: It's a very good computer for everyday use, but if you're interested in gaming or high-end software, I'd look elsewhere.

I'm going to follow up with a MacBook Pro review later.

Before I go, though, I highly recommend checking out MacWorld. That site is a gold mine of information about anything Apple, including hardware and software reviews. I'd actually favor their reviews over mine; unlike them, I don't have a budget large enough to purchase every iteration of every Apple computer ever and test it out
