Rival Names?
 

I'll name him Joe, and my main character will be Bob, as usual.

Since Silver isn't a name even though it's his default one I'll call him Steve.

I'll name him Silver in one, and something more clever in the other. I can't be too unoriginal.

I always name my rival Duoche

My friend's friend once named his rival (ssA) on Crystal.

What is the default, Gold or Silver depending on which game you have?

Probably Default or some Generic name like Bob or Steve

In the first generation games I always named Blue after someone I hated, but I think I'll use "Mittens" here. I nevar had Gold, Silver, or Crystal.

I'll name my rival in SS 'Zack'.

I named my rival "Toast" Platinum, and I'm thinking of doing the same thing for Heart Gold. I can't remember what my rival's name is in Pearl...or Diamond for that matter, so I'll have to go check.

Actually, I think that I'll name my rival after whatever my friend names their character, just for the hell of it. Or just something ridiculous...

I HG, I named him Silver, and in SS, I named him Gold. Original, right?

His name in the Manga is just really random...

he reminds me so much of Paul, that's what I named him. strangely, I did not remember him at all from playing the orginal Silver (and I think I would remember an arrogant trainer like that?)...

In past games I've named him either my brother or a friend of the same skill as me. HeartGold though? Geoff.

In the anime it is Paul

that's what I mean - when Paul first appeared in the anime, I'm surprised I didn't think "He reminds me of the rival back in Silver..." ....instead, it was the rival form playing HeartGold now who reminds me of Paul...

I have always (since Red/Blue) named my rival after a friend of mine named Edwin who went to middle school with me and we used to both play pokemon...cept when the rival's a girl

I named my rival Derek. No real reason why. Imagine how I felt when I ran into Pokefan Derek just north of Olivine City! Their personalities are polar opposites.

I named mine Anthony. It sounds like the sort of name the son of giovanni would have.

in crystal I named him ??? in my hg and ss I still named him ???, It was the most awesome thing for me to tell my friends that I was battling "Question Mark Question Mark Question Mark" I looked like an idiot saying it.

My brother called his rival Banana. I remember in silver I didn't know what rival meant 'cuz I was five so when it said "Rival's Name?" I called him Rival.

Thats odd since I got HG I named him Silver but i did get the English version

I usually name my rival Ethan but since they made the protagonist's name Ethan, I decided to name my rival Darren, after a guy from a story I'm writing.

I named him SILVER(Unoriginality FTW!). Forgot to put in lilttle letters in, though.

I named him Fredson! But some reason it later got changed to Fredon

I named my rival Damian in HG. Partially after one of my little brother's false friends (my little brother thought the kid was a friend, still does, said kid's a jerk), partially because it sounded like a jerkish name.

I named him Silver. Because, with all this rennaming, we had to have at least one main character keep his name. Plus, the Manga is too good to not reference.

I named mine The Thief. So when they asked me who stole it I said The Thief did.

I went Naruto style on my HeartGold. I called my (female) player Hinata and my rival was Kabuto. lol

I just restarted on SS, and his name is Tsundere. It is quite amusing playing through the game thinking he's a Tsundere.

I named him Wuul, due to random clicks and ending up with that name xD

In SoulSilver I named the punky rival, Badazz. Yeah... silly, I know. ^-^;

for pokemon heart/soul that's a pretty appropriate name i called him Mary btw :3

For some reason or another I always end up calling him Hector....but that's a whole different journey into the mind of a crazy guy. :3

I couldn't think of of name so I left it up to my bro. The next time I saw my rival at the top of Sprout Tower, I was like "????, you named him Joseph" I got used to it actually is a cool name.
