Quick question about starting new games.

*First off i guess this includes both X&Y and Oras*

So my question is, if i started a new game on Y version, would i lose anything on the pokemon global link reguarding the game info? Like would i have to Re-register my game card on the site or does it share the same one i registered?

I need to know cause my brother wanted to start a new game on my Y game after i got Alpha Sapphire and moved everything to it.

Extremely likely. I suspect you will not be able to keep data.

Just to be sure, though, check with PGL support. They can do some things that normal in-game methods cannot do, like complete removal of games from an account (should you sell, wipe, or be no longer in possession of the save data).

I'll try going on the site and see what i can find. I probably just have to unlink the game, and when i start a new game on Y i probably just have to re-link it or something.

You would lose everything tied to that game, including all the Game Sync settings, and therefore Global Link would unlink. You can transfer your Miles to another game, though.

ok so if i link Alpha Sapphire when i get it to PGL, i can have all my Pokemiles for that then i can start a new game on Y (when im ready to) but i'll still have all my stuff on the PGL site?

Cat333Pokémon December 1, 2014 03:56:07 PM

As long as you transfer your Miles, yes.

kakashidragon December 1, 2014 05:19:30 PM

How do i do that actually?

Cat333Pokémon December 1, 2014 05:55:32 PM

Log on to the PGL after registering at least two games. Go to the PokéMileage Club and click the button to move Miles.

ok cool. So after i do this and start over on Y, will i have to use game sync again and get another game sync ID? Plus will i lose all the medals i received too? If so i can just get them again and get a butt load of pokemiles for AS.

Cat333Pokémon December 1, 2014 08:19:13 PM

Yes, you lose all of the medals too.

One reason to start over on my Y after i get AS (besides letting my brother play it) is to get a better natured Yveltel (namely a mild nature) and kalos born/native of the other legends.

kakashidragon December 11, 2014 10:28:07 AM

Alright everything has been moved to AS. Now before when i start a new game on Y, should i use the Un-register this game option on the pokemon global link? Or can i just keep it registered and just re-game sync on the new save file?

Cat333Pokémon December 11, 2014 05:19:39 PM

I think you can only do that after removing the old one first.

kakashidragon December 12, 2014 02:30:50 PM

It does say under the "Use this game" section, that once i unlink a registered game it may take a week for it to get removed from the site. So if i start a new save file on my Y game, i would probably have to wait till the following week for the next site maintenance.
