VRGL 2014 Application Thread
 

Here's the long-awaited application thread. For those planning to apply, things will be quite similar to the 2011 gym league, but it will all be 3DS wifi. My name is Reuniclus, the derpy jelly Pokémon, and I'll be organizing this new league.

Changes from the Past League
-Gyms may be challenged in any order; you don't have to start at the first gym.
-No Elite 4 as of yet.
-Starting off, there will be no rank among the Gym Leaders.
-Due to breeding being greatly simplified, prizes for defeating a gym leader will be a fitting actual Pokémon or Egg of that Pokémon.

General Application Rules
-Applicants must post on this thread first, stating the type they're applying for. [multiple people can apply for the same type]
-Applicants must send their gym teams to me. Note: Gym teams must have at least 3 Pokémon of the same type that they're applying for
-Team listings should be made using this general format:

-This isn't required for applications, but a quick sketch of your planned badge design and its name would be nice too. It doesn't need to be anything fancy.

-Lastly, if you are seriously considering to become a Gym Leader, BE ACTIVE.

Applications will close in 2 weeks on December 30th.

I shall apply for Ghost type, as always.

Applying for the Steel-type position once again, but the team may need some redoing from last time :P

Applying for the Psychic-type position! The Flying-type was fun, but it is time to move to my second favorite type.

Oh wow this is exciting! Can't wait to see who the gym leaders are. And this is gonna be my post to say.. I'm not gonna enter as a gym leader just yet. I need to focus on different things like school, and I can't find pokemon black. i can't find any of my great pokemon that i used to have :'( I'll need to find that or train a lot of pokemon before i decide to try to join the league again.

Just a quick reminder that Mega Kangaskhan is now banned from OU and therefore from the VRGL. I haven't looked at everyone's teams yet, but if the team you sent me features Mega Kangaskhan, then please resend me a revised team.

I will be applying for the position of Fairy-type Gym Leader.

I've been thinking about this for a while, but now I think I'll announce it. I know there are some people who will be depending on Pokebank to complete members of their gym team. Because Pokébank is delayed, I'll be pushing the application deadline 1 week to January 6th.

When do our teams have to be ready by?

That date is still to be determined. I would say by the end of the month.

I am applying for the Dragon Type Leader.

Not to step in on your turf, but I'd like to apply to be the Steel type Gym Leader as well.

Since Monday is now over, submissions for the VRGL are technically supposed to be over, but since I won't be able to look over everyone's teams until I get back home, the application date will once again be extended to January 20th. I am sorry for any inconveniences (especially with Pokebank bank being delayed for so long).

To give a rough estimate of when the league will start, it'll probably be 3 weeks after Pokebank gets released.

Applications are now closed. The gym leaders will be announced soon, so keep your eyes peeled!

For those who have applied and have not sent me a PM of their team, please do so ASAP.

ThePokeMan has resigned from his gym leader position, so now there's a free slot for a new gym leader.

You all know how the drill works; post here saying what type you'll be applying for and send me a PM with your desired gym team. (remember, gym teams must have a minimum of 3 people of the type you're using)
