The characteristic that follows the Pokémon's encounter location is based on IVs and is thus random.

My question, though, is: does its ribbon count for getting into the Ribbon Syndicate?

Yes it does, but I don't think it's worth it and you can just go to this lady in Sunyshore who'll give you a ribbon every day.

when we get the spiked-ear pichu, cant we just save before we get him to get different stats and natures? Cause i was woundering like if I got the 10th Aniv. mew over wifi and saved right before the man in green gives him to me will the nature and stats change?

The answer is yes. You can SR before getting both of them.

thats cool, that way im not stuck with useless versions of them, mostly the pichu cause it cant be traded any other way right now.

mine has better atk and speed than you all, mine had iv 31 in atk and speed, with the alert to sounds thing, but now its a raichu, but i do have another pichu with way worst stats than you guys and its the japan one.
