Why a PokeWalker thread hasn't been made yet, I've no clue

I currently have 16,000 steps and I'm trying to find magby but it's hard.

I have the genius to put my Pokewalker in my backpack every day, so I get lots of watts at school! :D Today I found a rare Elekid, but it ran away first thing. :/

I'm at about 50,000 steps now. If I keep taking walks in the afternoons, I should be able to rake in the courses fairly quickly.

We went on vacation, and I had my backpack on the ground in a room that my 5 year old sister was in. I think she knocked the PokeWalker out or something, not to mention that she almost broke my retainer.

Maybe I just misplaced the PokeWalker and I can't remember where I put it.

50796 total steps. I take mine with me to school and whenever else I leave the house. When I'm at school and meet up with Cat and GreenMan we link up all of our Pokéwalkers (6 total) and get lots of free items.

I got two free Rattata for going on walks without any Pokémon in the walker. And they keep finding treasure chests with extra Watts in them for some reason. I wonder if you can get rare Pokémon to appear like that in the higher courses.

So far, I've found a good 20-30 items, I take it with me most all the time, I'm even wearing it now. Can't wait for the yellow forest event.

Oh, and I got like,10000 steps and tried to find psychic, but it reset before I could :(

I suck at walking. only have 40,690 steps

I wear mine everyday and almost everywhere.Total steps:137700 steps.

I have 54,935 total steps and 2526 watts. I take it to school every day, and I often either wiggle it on my belt or put it on my sock and shake my leg when I'm sitting down. :P

Yes I kind of do the same thing but a little different a little bit but not anymore.

I got about 2,000 steps on it yesterday evening. On my Japanese one I did have around 200,000 steps total, but it glitched up, so I lost all my watts/steps.
I've mainly used the Yellow Forest course. I've got many Pikachus now: 2 Volt Tackle, 2 Flail, one Surfing (OMGITSJAD has that now) and around 30 ordinary Pikachus.

It is always in my pocket.

I always keep mine in my pocket as well...except for today. I used the belt clip. And somehow, someway, it got this giant scratch down the middle of the screen. Nothing that messes it up, it just bothers me.

Looks like I'm not the only one who puts it on their sock when sitting :P

Exactly the same here.
I use my PokéWalker everyday, and since I walk a lot, I've earned lots and lots of Watts. However, I usually spend them using the Poké Radar and the Dowsing Machine, and this has been really beneficial to me; I found lots of rare Pokémon, items and TMs. Sometimes a random wild Pokémon joins me, too.

Does that work? And doesn't it break?

put a walking course around the basement of my house and used standstill bicycle with pokewalker clipped to the bottom of my pants while playing HG.

Bad news, my brother lost my Pokewalker and I will kill him he if he doesn't get it to me before sundown (jk but still I told him he needs to find it or else).

Yeah IMO Nintendo needs to add the function where if you lose it somewhere in the house you open HG/SS and go to a room and if the PokeWalker is on it'll start screeching.

Wow guys... you are really asking Nintendo for a lot of things. Isn't it enough that they actually made this PokeWalker?

I know it's not as huge as you pokewalker addicts, but w/e. My steps will get more once yellow forest comes out.

It does work, only problem is your foot gets tired after a while of however your moving your foot. and I think the only way it'll break is if you hit it or I guess land on it.

Total of 37,214 steps...I get about 2k steps each weekday, usually 0 on the weekends cause I never do anything but sit in my bed and when I get up to get food or something, I forget to drop my walker in my pocket to nab the very few steps.

Also, I really wanna know how you guys are getting 5k - 10k steps each day, I only get 2k from walking in school and I have to walk to 4 classes, lunch, to and from the bus, and I can only get 2000 steps! >_>

For the longest time, I didn't switch the course from Beautiful Beach. As a result, I have about six or seven Woopers.

I use the Suburban Area route for the possibility of finding PP Ups with the Dowsing Machine.

How's the protective strap working?

I always think I miss my chance to get a dratini. maybe because I don't pay attention to it. :(

I got a '!!!!' a lot before, and all I found was some common and equally useless Pokémon. It was, as I remember, only 2 times when I got rare Pokémon upon getting a '!!!!'.

well i only wanted the fly pikachu but it is so dificult i tried 2 days 1 day 16509 steps and then 11600 steps and non fly or surf pikachu only flail and common pikachu i got so piss off that i hide the pokewalker somewere that i dont remember right now.......

I understand your incredible pain. Today, I had 14,000 steps on my PokéWalker in the Yellow Forest course, and I have been trying to obtain a Surfing/Flying Pikachu, but all in vain. In fact, I linked the PokéWalker with my DS after catching 3 Pikachu, as I wanted to try my luck and catch 3 more. I forgot that when I link them both together, all my Watts are transferred to my DS. Therefore, I lost 450+ Watts :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad:

Uh, you do know you can just swap out Pokemon if you overcatch ones, right?
Just look for ones with !!! - !!!! icons in the Radar and catch those, otherwise, don't start a battle with ! - !!, but just click once and move on.

Yeah, I do know that. The thing is, I wanted to check out every Pikachu I catch just to make sure I don't accidentally replace a Surfing/Flying one :/

Gotta suck replacing those 5000+ steps to even have the probability of getting a Surf/Fly. 3:

I don't plan on using my watts at all until I get the last Pokéwalker course. That way, I can get the elusive Feebas without resorting to the normal method.

Oh. I just keep it in my pocket all day long, and sometimes give it to my brother when he's going outdoors.

The same goes to me, too. The place here is hot and humid more than often, so I can't walk outside everyday.

I took it around LEGOLAND yesterday. Only managed to rack up 7,500 steps though. I want 10,000!

Here's a tip - Tie it very tightly to your pockets and then go on an old rollercoaster. I got 1,000 steps per ride!

I went on a trips to Boston a couple weekends ago and i got over....70k steps (about 30k per weekend.)

It was fun getting lost and racking up the watts.

Currently, I have about 1300 Watts on my PokéWalker, collected over the past 3 days. I plan on gaining 10k steps on the weekend, then start using up all the Watts to try to encounter a Surfing/Flying Pikachu.

I'm also going to use my Wii Fit more frequently now while wearing the PokéWalker to gain more steps quickly.

Every Pikachu I've ran into at the Yellow Forest, has ran away. Super annoying. >_<;

Finally got 10,000 steps in Yellow Forest. Only First level pikachus though so far. :(

Coincidentally, I caught a Surfing Pikachu today, too!

I took my PokéWalker today to school, and gained about 5000 steps there. After I returned, I attached the PokéWalker to one of my socks, and wore it while working on the computer. I kept on moving my leg up and down, and this has caused me to gain steps at a VERY rapid rate. After about 30 minutes from returning to school, my family decided to have lunch outside. I walked a good amount of steps, and continuously tapped my foot lightly at the ground when sitting in the restaurant. This has caused me to have a total of 10,068 steps. After encountering about 6 Pikachu, I was able to get into a battle with a "!!!!" Pikachu. I got it down to 1 'HP bar' by evading and hitting it, then successfully caught it. I was sure it was a rare Pikachu, but wasn't sure if it was a Surfing or a Flying one.
I have just returned to my house, and the first thing I did was to transfer the 3 Pikachu I caught to my SS game. 2 of them had Volt Tackle, and one of them had Surf :D

I'm really very happy!

I've got this thing down, I could write a guide on catching stuff. No joke.

I got 2 surfers, and tomorrow, I plan on getting a flying one.

Please do write a guide for all of us. That would be kind and thoughtful of you.

EDIT: According to Serebii, every PokéWalker course has 3 advantageous types to it. If you have a Pokémon with an advantageous type of a specific course, the steps required to find any Pokémon within the course decreases by 25%. It also appears to make rarer Pokémon easier to find.

Example

Route: Yellow Forest
Advantageous types: Ground, Electric and Grass

If I send over a Mareep to the PokéWalker in the Yellow Forest course, the steps required to find a Surfing/Flying Pikachu become as follows:

Surfing Pikachu: 25% of 9,500 steps = 2,375 steps.
9,500 - 2,375 = 7125 steps.

Therefore, you now need 7125 steps in order to encounter a Surfing Pikachu.

Flying Pikachu: 25% of 10,000 steps = 2,500 steps.
10,000 - 2,500 = 7,500 steps.

Therefore, you now need 7500 steps in order to encounter a Flying Pikachu.

Couple an advantageous Pokémon with the trick of attaching your PokéWalker to your sock and continuously moving your foot up and down, and you will reach the required steps in about an hour or so.

Yes, i've done it before, I think I just pressed the button on a ! without holding it too long and the next Pokemon was a !!.

Also, about the guide, there is an apperance guide on Serebii for every course.

Okay, after sending Mareep to my PokéWalker and using the 'sock trick', I was able to encounter and catch 2 more Surfing Pikachu. But, you know what's the best part? One of those Pikachu that I caught was a Modest Pikachu knowing Surf, Thunderbolt, Thunder Wave and one last move (which I forgot) :D
I think I'll train it so that I can use it competitively.

Honestly, you all should use an advantageously-typed Pokémon in the Yellow Forest, as it makes those rare Pikachu much more common to stumble upon.

Im slowly on my way to making a Pikachu and Raichu Army, So far I've filled half of my single box with pikachus.

I have over 2 boxes of volt tackle Pichus. I found a light ball on my friends pokewalker and tricked him into giving it to me. So many Pichus...

I have a box titled 'Pikachu', which is fully dedicated to the Pikachu that I catch in the PokéWalker. The box is currently half-filled, and has the wallpaper 'Spiky Pika'. The combination makes the whole box look cute and appealing :D

I knew that already. I just thought that you could completely avoid having battles with '!' and '!!' Pokémon, but apparently I misunderstood.

Well, you do avoid the battles, but you can't just not press the button, or it'll end early and just take you back to the front screen.

All Surfing pikachu has that moveset shadow... (and it's quick attack, BTW)
All surfing pikachu are even girls...while all flyers are boys.

I found my Pokewalker! Now to get those special Pikachus.

Okay, I'll try to breed and see if Surf is passed or not. I'll notify you as soon as I get the answer.

I doubt it, since Surf / Fly are not Egg moves. Although I guess It doesn't hurt to try.

Same here, except that I won't try to get one now. I'm just bored of the Yellow Forest, so I'll start collecting all the rare Pokémon in every course that I have.

I got 1 flying and 2 surfing Pikachu! Yeesh!

The Pikachu in Yellow Forest are annoying me, thy run way to fast.

Pokewalker - areas not opening?
 

just wndering if anyone else has had problems with areas in the Pokewalker not opening when they are supposoed to....???

according to serebii, I missed two areas Hoenn Field (5000 watts) and Warm Beach (7500 watts) - I have well over 8500 watts as of now (all tranferred into the game) - any reason why they wouldn;t unlock? the last one I got was Town Outskirts at 3000 watts.....seeing how these two new routes are in Hoenn, does that have anything to do with it? I have not yet battled the Elite 4 if that has anything to do with it?

To unlock courses, you need to transfer multiple times, go out and get 1 watt, then return from a stroll, it'll unlock a course, then repeat this until you get every course you earned.

Rage, all unlocks from Hoenn Field and up require the National Dex.

Thanks - I actually found the answer earlier today in the offical guide while I was out shopping....now my question is, since I missed those two areas, will they automatically unlock (or unlock one per transfer) once I get my National Dex or have I missed them altogether, in which case, I wouldn't want to get over 10,000 and miss the next area also... (I guess I walk more than I play!)

In 46 days I have gotten *checks* 386340 steps. I haven't had it everyday either. AWESOME!

I have 3 Focus Sashes from Winner's Path. I told my friend to randomly pick a patch of grass and the first one he picked was a sash. He is too Pro. :lol:

I dont really wear it the most ive gotten was around 10,000 steps :P

I lost it quite some time ago. The most use I got out of it was getting 3 salac berries.

I think my pokewalker is dying because it just keeps a blank screen but still beeps. It's not a problem with the shading being adjusted. Looks like I'm not gonna use it again since I can't go everywhere just to find a battery watch.

I don't walk with it every day. Rather, I improvise. The below is my version of an improvisation.
