I adopted it at that level, by the way.
Also, the Swablu and Azurill in my signature look normal on the forums, but are shiny on VictoryBattles. And Yoshi's image... Well, you can figure that one out.
Cerulean City gym links to this. It doesn't work.
Why does this guy's page link to my forum profile? Wait a minute... Everyone's profile links you the profile of whoever you're logged in as.

It appears like adopting legends is very easy and possible.

@Charizard - This was from a previous bug, and is kinda why I'll be resetting all data when I release the beta (there's a slight delay with that elsewhere, in case you are wondering).
@Legends - These were simply to test the legends out. A while ago I added a bunch of Pokémon to the system to try to see if would slow things down too much, and the random generator always chooses unique Pokémon (so around #500, it was all legends). After the reset, legendaries will be much more rare.
@Sig Images - I'll look at that now, should be a simple fix.
@Gym Links - Remember, don't report storyline glitches (if its anything other than the PC, Pokémon Center, Pokémon Mart, Pokémon or User Profiles, its a storyline glitch).
@User Profile Links - Ah, simple fix, I fixed this a few times for different things, its just because I name variables badly :P.
@Shinies - The odds are 1/100, but its possibly I had been playing with something like that before, so who knows. There may also be a glitch elsewhere. (By the way, of the 9350 adopts currently in the system, 92 are shiny, so it still seems right.)

Anyway, this is delayed for getting a good theme. So, uh, hopefully I'll get that done tonight. For now, I need to fix the sig image and user profile link glitches.

Edit2: The dropdown problem (where it sometimes goes out of control) has also been fixed. I believe Ningamer reported this.

When you deleted that Charizard it was my active Pokemon. That then gave me this bug.

Edit: Should be fixed on the menu page. Other links will still go brokey, but at least it makes it easy to see that there's a problem.

For some reason, I adopted a few Pokemon then it logged me out. Now whenever I log in and click something, I get logged back out.

Odd. There are a few reasons why something like that could happen - does your IP change at all or do you use a proxy? Also, that does happen a little quicker than on the forums, anyway.

I was in Viridian Forest.
Clicked the grass

First time I saw it I attacked. It got KO'd (It said Magikarp attacks and does damage. was KO'd.) and I when I clicked Menu Index I was back in Pallet Town.

Second time I saw it I threw a Pokeball. I then turned in to a Caterpie, and said "The ball shook 0 times, and Magikarp escaped. Magikarp attacks Caterpie and does 7 damage.". Caterpie is level 3 and has 13 HP. After being KO'd, it still has 13HP, but has fainted. This time I stay in the forest.

A few things I'd like to point out:

1. When I KO'd it, I was sent from Viridian Forest to Pallet Town.
2. When I threw the Pokeball it said "Magikarp escaped.". Magikarp is the Pokemon that I'm using.
3. It then says "Magikarp attacks Caterpie". The thing turned in to a normal wild Pokemon.

victory battles DOES NOT WORK for me. All I get is a gray page.

@Sableyed It might be because you're using Safari.

Also, Freeze, explain screenshot 1. I seriously have no idea what happened.

Screenshot 2: You don't have a Mantyke called Darkrai. I checked. You also don't have a level 11 Mantyke. You DO, however, have a level 11 Darkrai. Explain.

Have a look at this thread. It shows all supported/unsupported/untested browsers. It might not be your browser though. I'm not sure what VictoryBattles is built on.

I'm on a mac. I think I have leopard.

VB is built on FreezeWarp: it was coded from the ground up. Safari should be supported: the problem you are seeing is some stretch problem with Safari (it'll all over on the right). I'll get to fixing it right away.

I'm not sure what the problem is. The drop down menus work, but all the pages they lead to are just grey. Though I thought that safari worked.

Another wonderous problem. Fixed, though. There's another problem demoed there: my Darkrai leveled-up in that battle, and its shown as having increased HP before the battle ended.

It did when I was testing all the browsers. Safari has a somewhat screwed up box model that is reminiscent of Internet Explorer, so that's what is causing the problem. Unfortunately, its hard to test Safari on Linux.

Edit: I have retested, and both Safari 4 and Safari 5 work on Windows. I can not vouch for mac, but I would like to request you upgrade if possible http://www.apple.com/safari/download/

Withdrawing up-for-trade Pokémon bug fixed. Thanks to Ningamer for reporting.

I adopted a Magby but when I tried to change the nickname I was told ot wasn't mine.

When requesting a trade, choosing a level doesn't do anything. You can still trade a level 3, even if the request is a 10+.
You can't log out until you've chosen a starter (Not a big problem, but still).
You can go straight to adopts and skip out getting a starter, but going to the index will bring you back to the starter-picking page.
If you don't select a starter, but still click continue you are brought to a blank page (Only the site skin is seen). Returning to the index takes you back to the starter-picking page.

I believe that has already been fixed - try again.

I'll work on all of those now.

When going to the trade menu, from the list of Pokemon I have, below a certain point I can't mark checks in the boxes. And for some reason I can't select what Pokemon I want in return. When I click on Pokemon in the scroll box nothing happens.

This could be a browser bug - can you describe the problem in more detail?

These three have been fixed. The latter two by removing the starter page (its redundant at this point).

After working with Blues, this problem has been officially fixed I believe. It was related to the chat and cookies, so if frequent chat users see this problem again, please report it.

Another Update: This problem does not occur in Safari 5; all users experiencing it are encouraged to upgrade. It also doesn't seem to happen in Safari 4 Windows, but, well :P

Another bug Ningamer reported, the PC dropdown menus being obstructed, has been fixed. I am also working to improve mobile browsing experience in some areas; for instance, the display of user profiles have been rewritten so they don't take too long to load.

Some Pokemon don't, and most legendaries don't have this problem, but many, many ordinary Pokemon do.

Working on that now - it was meant to display genders.

I'm also updating the image fonts for two reasons:
a) The other one just doesn't look good.
b) I want to use the images more often to promote better cross-platform support.

It may have broken down when I was playing with it earlier. Try it again now (it should be working).

Pokémon signature images now render with an improved font and properly display genders. This are also used in the PC and other listings to reduce the MySQL footprint (albeit possibly increase the overall bandwidth: we'll have to see).

All drop-down related glitches have been fixed: it should no longer have any problems what-so-ever.

The PC and Trade now list your adopts in a less browser-intensive and memory-intensive way (as to the user profiles from before). Ningamer reported earlier the PC crashing his browser: if users encounter any similar problems, please report them. This will also help the rendering on mobile devices.

To all beta testers:
Wild Pokémon related glitches have NOT yet been taken care of, but I will be dealing with them soon - if you find any problems, please screencap them and report them.

I want to improve rendering on Wii and DS systems: please report all "I can't use it at all" problems here. The drop down menus function a little better in this, btw.

My report is in story form; it's best that way. So I go to the forum (Pokémon Center > Forums), all of the last posts are on January 1st, 1970 at 1:00 a.m. by no one. I click on one of the boards, and it brings me to a page saying "Now that you've got your very own Pokémon, you should withdraw it from the PC." I click on the link that says "Click here to go there!", and it brings me to a totally empty PC (Yes, I have adopted Pokémon), which is even more empty than the one that AshArmy reported.

I've been screwing with the PC a lot today. It is probably fixed now.

I received a bug when placing a challenge request. I had offered a challenge to Luxray13579, betting 30 coins, using the following Zigzagoon (#2147). Please see the attachment for the error message.

I spotted another bug. I am not able to view the box with the last group of Pokémon. I see the 1-40 and 41-80 box, but the 81-120 box is absent.

Edit: Third bug spotted. In Chrome, viewing the list of the Pokémon on the challenge screen causes this.

The two bugs described in the attachments have been fixed (both caused by my edits today).

For all beta testers, feel free to use any supported browser for reporting bugs, mainly Firefox 3+, Chrome 5+, Opera 10+, Safari 5+, NDSi Opera Brower (which I am increasingly enjoying myself), or Internet Explorer 8+. They ALL need to work, so I do need a variety of browsing testing for each (I use Chrome by default, though - IE and Safari are always my last test priority).

Wild battles are being changed to prevent cheating, be more streamlined, and lay the ground work for live trainer battles. Do not report bugs for now.

Both of these problems have been fixed. Sorry about being so slow in doing so. Related bugs in user profiles, battles, and trades have also been fixed.

Support for persistent logins and style support using the standard style switcher has been added. Please report all bugs when logging in and using the style switcher (though I believe not all skins have been changed, I would also ask that you report it in case I overlook it).

Whenever I attack a Pokémon, it becomes a different Pokémon. Also, I got an SQL error when I got the Boulder Badge. I answered "green." And, the game freaks out when I challenge Misty. Also, whenever I buy Poké Balls, they disappear.

The first wild bug will be fixed when I fully rewrite thing; its not recommended you really use that for now. The two gyms aren't really ready yet, and all players will be reset to the beginning storyline wise when the storyline is completed.


As for the PokéBalls, that /is/ a problem: can you describe that is any more detail?

I enter the Pokemart, I set the Poké Ball field to 5, I press "proceed", it gives me a message that says "Are you sure you want to buy this item? It will cost 750, leaving you with 1650." I press "Yes" and it says that I had 2400 before (this is true), I bought nothing (Huh? I bought 5 Poké Balls!), and that I had 2400 after. Buying Potions works fine, it's just Poké Balls...

Yeah, all Pokémon (except for all legendaries most likely) will be kept.

Dude, live with it. Legendaries are supposed to be used in the story anyway, just adopting them is way too easy and no fun at all. I'd actually prefer to start over completely, having everything wiped.

I refreshed the page while adopting, and the "adopt" box disappeared! Now I can't adopt! Please fix this!

Also the "Random user" feature is a bit buggy. It doesn't change the name of the user if you press it again always, and sometimes I actually need to refresh the page to make it display a new user name.

Actually, you should always have to refresh the page. It only generates one user, but I could try to make it cycle through 3 or 4.

Good idea. Also, maybe you could make it so that it can't enter the name of someone you have currently challenged.

Lord Vegeta's earlier reported bug about images not displaying /may/ be fixed - or at least something similar with images not displaying across the board.

To all beta testers: the battles may be buggy as I changed some things in the underlying code. Please report all bugs as quickly as possible.

When I tried toggling to view my pokemon my browser always freezes.

How did magby go up 30 levels in 1 day?

Can you explain further? What browser do you use?

That's because of an experience glitch with clicking: apparently traded Pokes only had the problem. Fixed, anywho.

1) If you choose to get the Embed codes for a Pokemon, it gives you either the wrong code and preview image, or just the wrong preview image. I'll go to click Ralts and it'll give me a Sheldon preview, same goes for all the adopts i've tried.
2) Same issue as before, but with the withdraw function, I went to withdraw Ralts and on the homepage it told me I had Cacanea...
3) Just a minor thing I dislike; Why are Pokemon above Lv.1 when you adopt? I understand they got abandoned, but I think they should be level 1 when you get them at the beginning. Also, why is it possible to get higher evos at low levels? I saw a Lv. 5 Swellow up for adoption earlier...
4) Swapping images is a little delayed, I swapped some over to Gold and after I went back to my PC they didn't swap after. And now relooking, they haven't changed yet. Do the changes not get shown in the PC?

I have tried extensively to replicate this but without any success. Try it again and tell me if you still are encountering the problem. Also, what browser are you using?

I have considered changing this but haven't really decided yet. I see what you are saying, but, well :P

Images are heavily cached which makes this kinda hard. I have found the same problem myself but actually fixing it will be tricky. However, I do have a bullet-proof fix planned for the second Beta, which will also fix other PC slowness.



I have fixed the Pokéball Pokémart bug, so that should be working now.

The beta release should happen tomorrow, with me waiting for a proper battle script to the second beta. We'll see, anywho.

If you go over a dropdown, then move your cursor over to where it should be before it gets there, it goes up and down a few times on its own.

Ah, yes... that bug that refuses to die... It's like a cockroach after a nuclear war. Hopefully it'll be fixed in time, but I haven't yet been able to.

The dropdown Manage option for the Pokémon you want is ABOVE the Pokémon, not below it.

Fixed for the second Beta. You can get Pokéballs still if you buy at least one Potion with it.

I just adopted a Groudon at the adoptions center. I thought you said you deleted all the legendaries.

i have a bug i think. everytime i try to select any of these: trainer of kanto association, pokemon breeders, or team rocket it says this Program Error: Something Went Wrong!

If I go to the only house in Viridian City, it returns a PHP error.

After beating Brock's gym, I got an error saying "SQL Error". I'm good at finding these errors.

Wild Battles are disabled, although it said they would be back by Beta 2, and if you haven't noticed it is Beta 2.

I forgot to say this earlier; on my browser (Safari 5.0), the style switcher is on top of one two of the topsites buttons.

I then got a 404 error when I tried to battle Misty.

I tried to pick up a sword on the S.S. Anne.
"Error Receiving Item

When I went to the kitchen in the S.S. Anne, the letter S appeared between the "Active Pokémon" and "Map of S.S. Anne Passage" table rows. Funniest error yet.

You spelled Diglett wrong on the sign that says "Diglett's Cave". You spelled it "Diglet".

The Breeder's Invitation won't go away.

Fixed (for both the live b2 and dev b3).

Keep in mind the storyline is incredibly unstable and not yet meant to be played. Once beta 3 is released I will hopefully complete everything up to Celadon for RC1. Some of those are note-worthy, though.

I'd say I can report Beta 3 errors now.

Signs are no longer alerts, and clicking them brings you to the page http:///www.victorybattles.net/[signtext]. Also, viewing an unfinished battle brings up a MySQL error, a PHP error, and a broken image.

A bug with the Pokémart (though one that was minor, only with the Javascript) and one with the battles have been fixed. I think the former existed in Beta 2.

I still need to work on the Pokédex release bug, which also is from B2. Release planned for tomorrow night.

The HG/SS sprites for Houndoom, Shiny Drowzee, and Duskull appear to be broken, and every sprite in the PC (except for one of my Arboks, it seems) is HG/SS, no matter which one it's set to.

The Cerulean Gym Battle still gives me a not found error. I think this is actually quite easy. Just change gym.php?do=battle to index.php?page=gym&do=battle. It works; I've even just typed that in while I was in Cerulean City and I got to the beginning of the battle.

Yeah, that's still somewhat incomplete - I was hoping for it to say which one you are looking at but that probably won't happen yet.

I'll look into the sprites.

Gym battles aren't possible yet - they will be in the next RC, though (when you will be able to battle the first four NPCs).

With some help from KYA, many slow scripts have improved in performance drastically. These all started after B3's initial public release; I recommend you try the wild battles if you were disappointed before.

I am also close to fixing the capture bugs.

Capturing is now fully working - bug-free. The only pressing issue at this point is regenerating images.

Second one confirmed, but shouldn't cause any huge problems.

Try the first one again; it might have been broken only temporarily. Also keep in mind if your opposing Pokémon was weak to Geodude (like a normal type), it would do much damage.

It is Electric type, Geodude is ground type =P

(This will change when I code movesets, but that could be a year away)
