Nytz's Remixes

This is Nytz, and I am excited to share with you guys my remixes. This is my first time doing remixes, so I know I'm not the best. Here is the first one.

The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening- Ballad of The Wind Fish Remix.

I know this isn't good like PokeRemixStudio's music, but I am just beginning this stuff. I hope you guys enjoy.

I think the only thing it's lacking to be a listenable remix is a bassline; it won't sound complete otherwise.

There are infinitely many things any beginner can improve on, but I'm starting with the most basic issues.

Nytz January 8, 2012 04:24:32 PM

ok. thanks for the tip! ^_^

Edit:..... and now for the N00b question, as you guys would call it. What's a baseline? XDDDD

Nytz January 8, 2012 05:14:21 PM

I fixed the remix, and gave it a baseline... NOW tell me what you guys think.

The bassline is nice, but you should quiet it down a bit. It's drowning out the melody.
And a few other things:
Try using a soundfont for a electric guitar instead of FL Slayer. Slayer is okay, but soundfonts generally sound better. Or you could use a synthesizer. You stick soundfonts under Wherever it says Image-Line in your comp's program files -> FL Studio -> Data -> Patches -> Soundfonts < and then just insert the soundfonts there.
Here are some links to soundfonts I use;
http://www.sf2midi.com/soundfonts/ <-Some nice ones. I like the pianos.

http://soundfonts.homemusician.net/ <- You'll need a .sfArk extractor for the majority of these, (the files will either end in a .Sf2 or a .sfark) but most of them are pretty nice. I don't use the .sfArk ones.

And also; your drums. FL has some drums, but they can get boring really quick. PRS uses these 5,000 drums instead, and so do I. x)
http://www.darkbeats.com/sampleswap/5000_DRUMHITS.rar <- You just extract the drum hits wherever it says Image-Line in your computer's program files -> FL Studio -> Data -> Patches -> Packs < and you extract the drum hits into there. ;)
It's sounding really nice~ I can't wait to hear more. ^^

Now before I download these, my parents are very strict about what I buy; therefore my question is, are these for free? and how do I know which ones aren't free from which ones that are free?

SilverX January 9, 2012 04:56:04 AM

^Those are all free. However, for this link http://www.sf2midi.com/soundfonts/ <-You'll need to make an account before you an download them. (The account is free) ^^ On that site they also advertise their 'only 10$ for a high-speed download', so just click normal/free download.

Sorry guys... due to paranoia, and a rising obcession that is starting, I've decided to stop making remixes available to public.

I just fear the copyright infringement stuff... I know I took all the precautions, but still. plus, because I have little understanding on the copyright stuff, I just decided to quit altogether. I will still make more music, but until further notice, It won't be placed on the web. Also, the excitement of making music is consuming my perspective of reality. I feel like I'm obcessing over it. as a result, I'm just calling it quits for a while. Music making is really fun, and I hope one day I can make my own official video game music pieces.... but for now, copying from other pre existing ones just doesn't feel right to me. I'm really sorry for the inconvenience.....

I guess this thead can be closed now.... v_v
