What is your internet provider?
Right now my provider is At&t and haven't had a lot of problems since my family has switched to wireless.
Out where I live the only options are Comcast or At&t |
Cox Communications
|
I'm pretty sure mine is Shaw.

Oh, that does it. I am unsubscribing from SBC Yahoo! DSL service. This was before the AT&T merger mind you, but I thought after that they'd do something better... I want whatever the hell Yoshi has for his internet setup. |
Comcast Xfinity. Beta-tested full compat for Linux systems and mass download containment.
Xfinity is stupid fast. |

Earlier this year Tiscali UK got merged into TalkTalk. (Who in a study in 2009 were found to have the slowest speed of major ISPs in Britain...) |
Right now, I'm using Sky internet; an internet provider you should never EVER sign up for.
They slow down the internet deliberately between 5:15 PM and 11:15 PM. I can't even watch youtube videos during that time. We're breaking free of that provider in a few days because they're doing it deliberately and even TOLD us that they had a right to do it, despite the fact that we pay premium. |
I use an Internet Service Provider called Etisalat.
http://www.speedtest.net/result/931362672.png I know, my package is pretty slow. That's why I'll be upgrading to a better, much faster one in the next few days. |
|
http://www.speedtest.net/result/931678679.png
It gets the job done, and its fast enough I can play Games over Xbox 360 with little to no lag. |
1 mbps down/300 kbps up with the cheapest Verizon DSL plan.
I could get either FiOS or Cable though I don't do much downloading or uploading. |
My internet speed is crap, I am just happy that i can get on the internet with this.

EDIT: THIS IS MY WORKPLACE INTERNET CONNECTION

I have optimum (sadly) we uesed to have verizon but my dad switched because he got to pay a couple cents less each month.
|
|
I have optimum. It's decent.
|
I'm on the TalkTalk which offer broadband and phone for a reasonable twenty or so pounds.
SpeedTest.net brought this up: http://www.speedtest.net/result/938276331.png To be honest, I think this whole "Up to so and so Meg" is a huge scam, and should really be revised for honesty purposes. |
|
Bumped for a change in my internet speed after getting a better package:
http://www.speedtest.net/result/968202381.png This is good enough for all the every-day purposes I need, so I'm quite happy with it. |
http://www.speedtest.net/result/978367301.png
I don't know too much about computers, but I take it my computer sucks at uploading but is Also, my provider is AT&T. |
COX useres FTW
This is accely quite bad for me. (Use crappy hoem router) My good (bissness) router broke though that my ping is <5ms and 30mbs + http://www.speedtest.net/result/978526987.png Edits Good router http://www.speedtest.net/result/2140776897.png Work http://www.speedtest.net/result/2110686241.png |

Ubuh... buh... buh... How much does that cost?! |

|
50 mbps speeds here cost just under Ł30... Our company offers 10 mbps, 20 mbps and 50 mbps, of which we have the first one. Still, it's more than enough to do what I want! Apart from when I'm uploading a Youtube video or something...

My school's...
http://www.speedtest.net/result/969449901.png o-o EDIT: http://www.speedtest.net/result/981746813.png http://www.speedtest.net/result/981747898.png The servers make the difference or something... .-. |
Yep; If you look at the second one it's ping is about 2.5x that of the first one. And the speed's just below half as slow. Still, I'm freaking amazed at that upload speed. I'll try to test my school's tomorrow! :P
|
To put these speeds in perspective victoryroad and associated sites all have a 10mb up and down dedecated line. Thats just whats guaranteed we dont know how fast it can really go.

What does this MEAN? D: 3.3/5 is a D, so it can't be great. |
I tested at my school today, while there was heavy strain on the server (First five minutes of the first lesson) and I managed to get a download speed peaking at 32 MB/S and an upload of around 15 MB/S. Unfortunately my teacher made me close it before I could get a link or anything, so I don't know our ISP.
|
I have AT&T were getting wireless but for now it's just dial up but with the power of windows 7 its pretty fast.. and a great processer which makes it even faster
|
I'm at a hotspot right now, so...
http://www.speedtest.net/result/984350064.png That's actually not half bad. :p |

What I mean is that there is such a vast difference in your Download vs Upload. Both are faster than mine. |

Given the amount of everything I do on the Internet, I'm not too happy about these speeds. |
I'd figure not many of ye heard of my ISP. XD
http://www.speedtest.net/result/1052483605.png Edit as of Jan 5th New router, flashed DD-WRT firmware, USB WiFi adapter and homemade directional antenna. Made out of tinfoil, a cooler vent, duct tape and legos. Pictures here
Spoiler Alert:
http://www.speedtest.net/result/1098737361.png BTW my down/up speeds via WIRE are 20/20. |
Well this is actually my home's internet speed.

Seeing as my Internet is being incredibly slow nowadays, I decided to test again...
http://www.speedtest.net/result/1211886493.png Which, if you take into consideration the one I did back in August... http://www.speedtest.net/result/908869302.png ...Is terrible. |

You do not know slow. Maybe it's my distance? All I want is a download speed upped by at least 100 kbps. Preferably up to 450kbps. There are upgrades however, so I might try it if I can convince mom. |

I've been having internet troubles:
We're supposed to be getting 20Mb/S broadband. A test from a few days ago shows that we're getting 1/100 of that. Upload is better than usual though: http://www.speedtest.net/result/1419689405.png A test a few hours later shows a slight improvement in download speed, but there was no hope left for our upload or ping: http://www.speedtest.net/result/1420259299.png And then, after almost two days of no internet and minutes of being on hold to Virgin Media, we get a result! http://www.speedtest.net/result/1424306426.png |

What was the problem? |
|
Tweaked my router significantly since the last post. Just like before, I'm still on wireless.
http://www.speedtest.net/result/1425868324.png GEEEK POWEEEEER! Wired speeds are now 25/25Mbps. |
Decided to check it again and I sort of almost vomited the ice cream I just had

Well I have to say that my new provider is much better, just that the router screws up when I switch it to WEP. orz |
http://www.speedtest.net/result/1513153754.png
This is why I love FlashGet. All my downloads usually go up to 1mb/s or higher. |
My Internet provider? Telekom Malaysia. I'm stuck with them on a 2M connection that may or may not be slower than usual at times. Also not exactly the most reliable provider in my country. But, hey, phone service is a must, no?
http://www.speedtest.net/result/1537780407.png Yeah, it's that bad. Barely over half the speed promised. |
Firefawks.

^ Firefox is a browser. This thread is asking what the provider is.
Mine is CenturyLink. Maybe it's more reliable than Qwest. Maybe. |
