MattyBrollic and Trees's Mixed Tier Tournament!!!
 

Hello everyone! Trees and I will be hosting a special wifi tournament a week from this Saturday (May 31st) starting at 12:00 noon!!! The tournament will end Sunday June 1st at 12:00 midnight! Anyone is welcomed to join! It will be a singles mixed tier tournament in which you are only allowed to use 2 OU, 2 UU, and 2 LU Pokémon on your team! Here are the tier listings we are going to be using:


Guess what! It doesn't end there! Everyone who joins will be assigned a random Mega-Evolution that they have to use throughout the whole tournament! You MUST use this mega as well as the rest of your team for the entire duration of the tournament! Comment if you'd like to join!

EVERYONE MUST SAVE THEIR TOURNAMENT BATTLE VIDEOS ON POST THE CODES ON THIS THREAD AS IT IS THE ONLY WAY FOR TREES AND I TO MAKE SURE EVERYONE IS HONORING THE RULE OF USING THE SAME TEAM THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE TOURNAMENT.

THERE ARE 16 SLOTS AVAILABLE IN THIS TOURNAMENT. IT IS DOUBLE ELIMINATION!
I WILL BE CLOSING THE SIGN-UPS AT 11:59 pm SUNDAY NIGHT SO HURRY UP AND SECURE A SPOT!!!
As soon as sign-ups are closed, I will be assigning mega-evolutions to all of the participants with the help of a randomizing website.

I will be giving out a SHINY MAGIC GUARD SOLOSIS that I bred as the 1st place prize! 2nd place will receive a 5 IV jolly natured Pinsir! 3rd place will receive a shiny Bisharp (unfortunately has poor IVs)!
-It has 2 or 3 perfect IVs so it's not stellar but it's more than usable.
-If I win, unless someone wants to donate me a super awesome prize, I will win bragging rights!

I picked the best time to wipe my save file, didn't I . . . when is the deadline for joining? I'll try to beat the E4 and a few rounds of Battle Mansion by the 31st, no promises.

All though I have a feeling I'll end up forgetting about it.

I wiped my save well before this because I was planning on doing a challenge run of the game, but the run seems much better suited to the Gen III remakes (which also weren't announced at the time). That, coupled with my rusty at best competitive mindset, make me believe it's better I sit this one out :(

Also, a lot of the UU Pokemon are spilling over into the LU tier, like Florges, Starmie, and Suicune.

Look promiseing, i was planning on cooking up a new team so i'll join. 2-2-2 in each tier will be tricking to come up with, but i do like to use other tier mons on my teams alot so this will be fun.

Quick question, do all of the Pokémon need to have the blue pentagon of approval? (I assume no because of Victini and Genesect being allowed)

No they do not. However, hacked Pokemon are not allowed. When I say hacked I mean Pokemon with abilities that they cannot have and or moves they cannot possibly learn. If that happens to anyone, post the battle video code and I will check it out.

Are my pokemon that was RNGed be allowed? As i dont think i'll have a better advantage or anything? Plus most of my RNG mons are either legendarys or pokemon with Hidden Power. (As getting these are pretty hard and really bothersome to get. *But mostly the Hidden Powers*)

Hello everyone, just letting ya'll know that I updated the OP. I added that the tournament will take place a week from tomorrow at 12:00 noon. Also, as soon as registration ends Sunday at midnight, I will be using a randomizing website to assign mega-evolutions to all of the participants. Hurry up and secure your place in the tournament! We currently have 8 definites and 4 people who are most likely going to participate. The goal is 16 so spread the word and get everyone to battle! :D

U should do the random mega pokemon thing early, cause there be no point in my making team then get slaped with a mega i dont want to use, then i'll have to change my team again afterwards.

I am randomizing the Megas at midnight on Sunday. This way you will have from Monday-Saturday to make a team.

What if you want to use a Pokémon that's categorized in the BL category? Should we just consider them to be UU?

Yes. BL is considered OU, BL 2 is considered UU. Think about it if a Pokémon is banned from RU, the lowest tier in which it can be used is UU. Therefore, it is technically UU.

You have to use the one assigned to you, whether you like it or not. :P (even if it's a crappy one!)

ATTENTION!!!!!!!! TO ALL PARTICIPANTS OF THE TOURNAMENT: WOULD A RESCHEDULING TO 9:00 pm SUNDAY NIGHT WORK? SUNDAY JUNE 1st AT 9:00 pm???

I don't know if that's a good idea. It's awful close to finals week for high schools, so being up late beforehand probably wouldn't be doable for some folks.

I was thinking, can we not do the battles at our own will? For example, the start date of the tourney will be at noon, but we can get our battles in at a certain time within the same day. That way it isn't as stressful for participants.. Kind of. Just in terms of scheduling. It can get annoying if battles aren't turned it on time. Just an option in case some of us work. :)

Cowboy: No. However, after the tournament is over, I am going to ask everyone to give in their battle video codes, this way we can check to see if everyone honored the rule. Phantom: Do you need a Tyranitarite?

Also, am I permitted to put my battles on YouTube? I usually do that, but I know some people would prefer I didn't so I should ask now.

Some pokemon were listed twice in different tiers (Like forrtress). So it was hard to choose.

Kakashidragon brings up a good point! IF A POKEMON IS LISTED IN MORE THAN ONE TIER, THEY ARE CONSIDERED TO BE IN THE LOWER OF THE TWO TIERS. FOR EXAMPLE, FORRETRESS IS LISTED IN UU AND LU, THEREFORE IT IS ABLE TO BE USED IN LU MAKING IT AN LU POKEMON!!!!!

So there listed twice say in UU&LU, can the pokemon still be used as the UU slot?

No they cannot.

I'm sorry, I've changed my mind. I can't be able to commit to this as Pokémon battling is really outside my realm except in the case of gym battles. Plus, I'm bad with tiers and chance. Good luck to everyone else competing.

Since most of the UU or LU, it was hard finding the right UU mon i needed to finish my team. I hope it does well. (I got someome thats going to help test it)
