Brand New Original Anime Pokemon Origins
It was announced today at the pokemon game show that a new pokemon anime is set to air every Wednesday starting October 2nd.
All we can make from this are these pictures. http://dengekionline.com/elem/000/00...cs1w1_190x.jpg http://dengekionline.com/elem/000/00...cs1w1_190x.jpg http://dengekionline.com/elem/000/00...cs1w1_190x.jpg http://dengekionline.com/elem/000/00...cs1w1_140x.jpg http://dengekionline.com/elem/000/00...cs1w1_140x.jpg http://dengekionline.com/elem/000/00...cs1w1_140x.jpghttp://dengekionline.com/elem/000/00...cs1w1_140x.jpg |
Wow, those first pictures must have been taken with a potato, and the second batch must've been taken with a cherry tomato.
I do like the Game Boy in the first image, though. |
The origins Origin? Like, from the beginning? With RED? Oh snap, this is gonna be gooooood. Maybe this'll even be the reason I start watching the regular Pokemon anime again. That is... if they don't cancel it because of an Earthquake :P

Whoa- that's Red and Green! :gwah:
This anime looks really good judging from the pictures- I'm gonna guess that it's going to be based off the manga. |

My guess would be Pokemon Adventures. Isn't it the most popular or the original manga or something like that?
|
Yeah, Pokémon Adventures. I've got about 20 of them...and I still haven't read very many. >_>
|
As much as I wish for that I'm positive this isn't based off Pokemon Adventures.
|
I think this sounds pretty promising- a fresh start is always pretty nice. I'm guessing it's just based off the events in the game, so Brendan instead of Ruby and- May instead of Sapphire.
Though, I do wonder if this means that Ash's adventures will come to an end. If they don't bother to run both at the same time, I wonder what they'll do. |
I have a feeling this new anime will be quite similar to the BW2 anime that was featured last October. (I kinda hope it's similar too)
This new anime might even be intended for a more mature audience. (Just a guess :P) |

If it's for a more mature (the PROPER) audience, then there's nothing stopping me from watching it. |
Here is the actual trailer.
|
Well this blew me away. They're using a similar graphic style as the BW2 game trailer. It also looks like they're using the HG/SS designs for most of the characters. |
Nice! This looks like a promising anime series [if it is a new series] i'd watch it its based of Red and Green from tne games. I bet we might see crystal and gold, again [maybe] and maybe yellow/blue? ''The girl from FR/LG''
|
So it turns out this will only be a short lived anime.
Which makes sense since they showed the final scenes of the game in the trailer. Hopefully they'll try to show a proper Team Rocket at least. |
Maybe this will keep the gen-oners quiet for a bit...
On topic though, looks pretty interesting. Definitely getting vibes from Red/Blue off it. |
Their faces look weird but I'm in love with those lighting and shading effects they're using. It seems to just be an anime adaptation of the original game's story if Red chose Charmander. But the question is... why? I wonder if Kanto is going to be important in 6th Generation, but right now I do not want to know because spoilers. I'm out.

I saw Red's mouth moving as if he was talking :(

Crossing my fingers that if this is dubbed Red doesn't get an annoying childish voice. |
Yep, this is just gonna be a temporary special/spin-off.. It looks pretty good, maybe it'll get me to watch Pokemon again..

Pokemon Anime Special To Chronicle Pokemon Red and Green
During the Pokemon Game Show, a trailer was revealed for an upcoming anime special entitled "Pokemon:The Origin". As opposed to the longstanding Pokemon main series anime, which only loosely follows the games, the special appears to be based directly off of them, with both Red and Green ("Blue" in international versions) appearing. The special also uses a distinct animation style and presentation, no doubt to further differentiate itself from the aforementioned main series anime. Whether this is simply a surprise bonus for longtime fans of the series, or an indication of Game Freak's future intentions for the franchise is yet to be known.
The trailer in question may be viewed below: Source(s):[Pokemon Official Japanese Youtube Channel] |
This looks sweet! Being a special it's probably not going to be much longer than the Mystery Dungeon series, but it should be enjoyable nonetheless. I might actually bother watching some Pokémon anime for once! ^^
|
Nah, bbys. It's not based off Pokemon Adventures, it's based off the games story. Red doesn't start with Charmander in the manga. He starts with Bulbasaur. ;)
Edit: Green starts with Charmander. D: |
Did anyone else get the same feeling in this trailer as with Fire Red and Leaf Green? It's like a perfect blend of retro and a sense of freshness. It definitely reminds me of the days when I played those games with my friends in 2004.
