[SPOILERS] Heaps of ORAS Information: Megas, PokeNav, and Soaring, Oh My!
5 Attachment(s)
With the release of the ORAS demo overseas, it was surprising to find that there were two more Mega Evolutions unearthed as part of the demo. Along with these new Mega Evolutions, some new information regarding in-game aspects and features.
New Mega Evolutions The first new Mega Evolution revealed in the demo was Mega Steelix. Mega Steelix retains its Steel/Ground typing, and gains the ability Sand Force. How its stats are changed is still unknown. Attachment 6483Attachment 6484 The next new Mega Evolution is Mega Glalie. Mega Glalie retains its pure Ice type, and gains the ability Refrigerate. Like with Mega Steelix, its stat changes are unknown. Attachment 6485Attachment 6486 PokéNav Functions The PokéNav, now called the PokéNav Plus, has a lot of different functions, some carried over from the original Ruby and Sapphire, and some functions carried over from X and Y. The features of the PokeNav Plus include... DexNav: The DexNav allows you to search, look up, and help find Pokémon that appear in the area. This feature has various Levels, and higher Levels can cause rare or Hidden Ability Pokémon to appear more frequently. AreaNav: The AreaNav allows you to track Pokémon locations, the Trainer's Eyes function, and keeps track of the location of Secret Bases and Berries. BuzzNav: Largely a StreetPass function, the BuzzNav reports news from around Hoenn and the other players that you pass. PlayNav: Most of the functions here are transferred over from X and Y, including the Player Search System (PSS), Pokémon-Amie, and Super Training. O-Powers and the Holo Caster will make a return in this mode. Soaring in the Sky As revealed before, the Eon Flute allows you to fly on the back of Mega Lati@s. It has been revealed that this function, called "Soar," will work much like Dive does, allowing you to use Pokémon in the skies regardless of how little sense it would make. In short, you do not have to use Sky Battle-eligible Pokémon in the sky, but are free to use any Pokémon you have on hand. Mirage Spots Also revealed before, Mirage Spots allow encounters with certain legendary Pokémon, of which Lugia, Ho-oh, Dialga, Palkia, Reshiram, and Zekrom have been confirmed to show up. It has also been confirmed that some "valuable items" are to appear in these Mirage Spots. As far as I can tell this likely means that one can find the Adamant/Lustrous Orb in Dialga/Palkia's Mirage Spot, and so on and so forth. Furthermore, there was some speculation that Hoopa's silhouette appeared in the image depicting the appearance of Dialga, Palkia, Reshiram, and Zekrom from their Mirage Spots. A full high-definition picture shows that this is not the case, but the gold rings highly suggest Hoopa's involvement in the Mirage Spots. Attachment 6487 Other News It has been confirmed that Trainer Customization will not exist for this game, outside of Contests. U.S. fans with a Pokémon Trainer Club account will have access to the ORAS demo starting tomorrow, October 15th. Eon Ticket distribution is confirmed to take place later this year. |
Mega Glalie's Stats are :80/120/80/120/80/100
and Mega Steelix's are :75/125/230/55/95/30 |
So, if you can catch Dialga and Palkia, and you can catch Reshiram and Zekrom, what's the verdict on Giratina and Kyurem? Also, these Megas are better, and I'm happy with their designs and stats.
|
Also.
Mega Swampert's stats are 100/150/110/95/110/70 Mega Sceptile's stats are 70/110/75/145/85/145 |

I'm pretty liberal when it comes to judging Mega Evolutions, and new Pokémon in general, but Mega Steelix and Mega Glailie . . . just no. Other Megas look like beefed-up versions of the regulars, but these two look like they have rabies or something. Glailie especially.
Otherwise, Mirage Spots . . . interesting. Here's hoping they're available in regular play and you don't need any silly event items to activate them! |
Also i read on serebii that non of the new mega pokemon will be on X&Y (No patch for it i guess). I dont know if we cant trade them to X&Y or they will only appear during battles between X&Y and ORAS. But to me this seems like a rip off. Whats the point really? Its like when platinum battled with Diamon & Pearl when it had form changes, you dont see the change but the change in stats still happened. (Much like B/W with B/W2 with Kyurem)
|
Obviously you can't trade a Mega Pokémon, but the stones'll probably be restricted the same way you couldn't trade the Kyurem forms. When it comes to battling, like you said I'm guessing that'll also be like the Kyurem and Kami forms, you'd see the sprite/model of the normal Pokémon but all the math would be calculated by the server as if you were battling with the new ones.
|
Im just hoping we can trade the stones found in X&Y to ORAS, cause what was the point in collecting all the stones in X&Y and not be able to use them in newer games?
Also i learned that the demo can be gotten through your Pokemon Trainer Club account of you have signed-up for there newsletter through ur email. The code will be there from oct.15th till whenever. EDIT: I didnt this part posted already, lol my bad |
i'd imagine you will. there's no reason not to, aside from Nintendo potentially wanting to ruin our lives, which I don't think they do. i mean, the data for the stones will be there, so it's not like you're trying to transfer something that doesn't exist, right?
|
Now the last thing im worried about is, what mega will we get through demo? Steelix or Galie? Cause it will be hard to get both (people would try to be greedy for there mega in there demo)

Edit: I actually like Mega Steelix design. Maybe do away with the beard thing, but everything else is cool. Mega Glalie... Eh. Not very pretty. Also, I noticed that Matty's post of stats Mega Gallade actually has a good spread of stats. I wonder if they'll re-distribute the stat spread on the other Mega's. I mean, come on... Beedrill can't be faster than Mega Manectric. I love Mega Manetric... Edit 2: Lol, after looking at Beedrill's current stats, they didn't even touch it's defenses. Just lowered the Sp. Atk and sky rocketed the remaining 2 stats. xD Anything that's not Mega Aerodactyl, Mega Alakazam, Mega Pinsir, and Talonflame should fear this thing. Oh yeah, and any Pokemon with Bullet Punch/ExtremeSpeed. That's crazy! xD |
|
They look pretty cool, but I won't have them on my team.
