Member Blog Rules

Welcome to the blog forum. Here are the rules you'll need to follow when maintaining a blog.
  1. You must have at least 100 posts to make a blog. If you don't, your blog will be closed.
  2. You may only have one thread for your blog.
  3. You may comment on others' blogs if it's relevant to their updates.
  4. You may not update your blog more than once per day. Updates do not include replies to comments made by other users.
  5. Conversations between the blog-owner and another member should be taken to VMs (visitor messages).
  6. You can title your blog upon making the thread. You may ask a mod to change the title if you wish, but do not request a title change constantly.
  7. Double-posting and bumping in your blog is acceptable if it is to make another entry.
  8. You may use CSS to style your blog, but don't use it in an obnoxious manner.
  9. All other forum rules apply.

Possible addenda to these:

10. These blogs are just one part of the forums. If your activity on the rest of the forums is found to be lacking, your blogging privileges can be revoked
11. (Less of a rule, moreover a suggestion) Please make an effort to read other useres' blogs, and maybe even "like" them. If you don't show evidence that you're reading others' blogs, they might not care about yours.

Hmm... The "like" function could be very useful in indicating that someone likes a blog post or two without even commenting.

I think the entire stream of posts within a blog thread might start to look messy without using hybrid-view/quoting... that's just me, but it could get in the way if someone manages to dig up a gem of a post some time in the future.
