Pokémon X and Y Recent Happenings Thread

This thread is for posting your adventures in Pokémon X and Y, akin to the previous Recent Happenings threads for Pokémon Black 2/White 2 and Animal Crossing: New Leaf.

It should be obvious that this thread will contain spoilers, but I would like to request that anyone speeding through the game should check the users posting previously before posting any late-game or post-game material. If there isn't anyone yet caught up to your portion of the game, please wrap those parts of your text with [SPOILER] tags.

Optionally, you may also create a thread on the X/Y board to put your own adventures in a blog format.

Also, please use attachments for images and video clips. To do so, when making a new post on the advanced view, click Manage Attachments below the text box. Upload the necessary files using that. You can attach more than three files, but that's the most you can upload at once. To embed the attachments anywhere within your post, click the paperclip icon in the bar above the text box and choose the attachment you wish to embed. Make sure to put spoilerific media inside spoiler tags.

I'll edit this post when I get to play it!

Magmaster12 October 11, 2013 04:37:54 AM

I should have ordered my copy by mail. :/

RotomGuy October 11, 2013 11:41:19 AM

Ok, so I started up! It's great!

Here is what I did so far.

I was rudely awoken by a Fletchling! I met my new neighbours and all that jazz, we went to the next town and was nicknamed "Monseiur R". I then completely destroyed Shauna in a battle. Dat Chespin has got nothing on me!

I then went to the forest, met Youngster Joey (top percentage Scatterbug) and arrived at the next town. Then I proceeded to destroy Viola. Her Vivillon was tougher than anticipated. I then went up the road and went to Lumiose City, and got my Kanto starter from the professor!

Later in the game, I found my first ever shiny, a Croagunk! It joined the team along with a Honedge and a Drifloon.

I'll stop posting now, but the gap inbetween first and second gym is huge!

Moved commentary here for convenience sake. I like the blog format idea.

I ordered mine through mail, but it looks like it won't be delivered till Monday morning. Unless there's not a store nearby, getting it through a brick-and-mortar will end up being faster.

Magmaster12 October 12, 2013 05:50:48 AM

Well I got my game.

Agh why do they need to show me how to catch a pokemon right after I just caught one STILL.

(Posting this from outside GameStop. :P)

Magmaster12 October 12, 2013 09:07:02 AM

One my pokemon fainted but I didn't want to go all the way back to Lumise City.

Luckily I immediately ran into a wild Abra.

I forgot to mention that there were roughly 100 people who came in during the time I was there, but only about 30 people arrived at 9 o'clock.

Magmaster12 October 12, 2013 10:11:02 AM

The Game Stop I went to was dead.

The lady seemed angry about opening an hour early only for it to be dead.

Magmaster12 October 12, 2013 10:22:30 AM

Someone I used Wonder Trade and got a Shiny Swalot.

I'd call it out as hacked but I know no one has hacked the game yet.

(The sticker is stuck to the back of my laptop's lid.)

Anyway, picked Chespin, named it Chespinator, and... well...

Chespin's so adorable that I'm not going to evolve it, ever.

Oh, and got through the first gym in two hours.

Also, gotta love how many Axew balloons I Team Rocket'd... I guess I needed that Attack boost for the rest of the events for Super Training. Doesn't hurt that it helps battles, too.

I'm no fan of skates - I think I probably will use the directional pad for every single movement if I can help it.

Saving is ridiculously fast. I suspect the game is either cheating by saving as soon as you confirm, or the game is using fast and expensive NAND.

Just got my copy today :D

Cat333Pokémon October 12, 2013 02:43:24 PM

Well, I defeated the first gym. I haven't taken any pictures of the game, but here is my "team" so far:

Firefox (Braixen) - Lv. 16, 49 / 30 / 29 / 38 / 30 / 30
Spamachu (Pikachu) - Lv. 8

The rest of the spots are filler for now.

Time - 3:24
Central Pokédex - 12/31

JDxImpetus October 12, 2013 03:00:27 PM

Defeated the 1st gym...although the leader did make my Torchic faint (I wasn't too happy about that) and then I caught my (probable) New Team Member. Here's my team so far

Dr. Strange (Braixen) - Lvl 16
Torchic - Lvl 15
Fleur (Flabebe) - Lvl 8

SpikyEaredPichu96 October 12, 2013 04:55:06 PM

I got my game! :D (I actually got it quite a bit ago, but I've been too focused playing it)

I noticed that the Nicknames they gives you are a lot like the ones in Animal Crossing; one of the ones that they suggested for me was "Lady E". I tried suggesting Spike E, but unfortunately they wouldn't take it.

But aside from that, I beat the gym and have been working my way through the Routes.

Cyrus October 12, 2013 05:13:18 PM

On my way towards the second gym. Been trading with a few buddies, and luckily already got myself an Eevee. :D

Braixen Lvl. 18
Pancham Lvl. 19
Pikachu Lvl. 19
Ivysaur Lvl. 19
Eevee Lvl. 19

TurtwigX October 12, 2013 05:25:43 PM

Started the game! Whoo!

...I haven't done much beyond that except get to Route 2.

Oh well, I started on Y version first and chose Froakie! Which I cleverly named Froaky! I named the character after my real name so I won't put that here (;D) but my nickname is Turty, of course. I've decided that the theme for this run will be "Froaky Dominates the World!"

Froaky- Level 6

kakashidragon October 12, 2013 07:42:23 PM

Got my copy today and made it to a play where snorlax was sleeping (caught it too). Then i found a photo guy Got a picture taken, then i posted it to facebook to show the game off). The game is pretty boss, i also got a honeedge in the same area :)
You guys should add me to your 3ds's so we can do stuff.

Yoshi648 October 12, 2013 09:06:28 PM

Well like everyone else I got the game (X) this morning.

First my thoughts on the game itself: Wow, just wow. Finally a main 3D Pokémon game. It seems like a different world compared to all the 2D sprite adventures I've done forever. It reminds me a lot of Colosseum and Stadium (especially the battles). I like the little details that were added, like bending down to talk to little kids. I also like how the ability to customize your trainer was finally added, now everyone doesn't look like Generic Trainer #3. Also seems interesting how the group of traveling companions grows larger each game (first a single rival, then 2 friends, and now a group of 4 friends). Oh, and getting an EXP share near the beginning of the game that levels all Pokémon evenly is both cheating and helpful (I'm one of those people where my starter Pokemon is always at least 10-15 levels ahead of everyone else). The only thing I found so far that I didn't like is how hard it is to control in the more free areas such as Lumiose City.

So with that, here's where I'm at today:
Currently on the final stretch of Route 8 before heading into Cyllage City for the 2nd gym.
Time played: 8:20
Pokedex: 78
Pokeyman team:
*Mozilla (Braixen) - lvl 27
*Watt (Pikachu) - lvl 22
*Charla (Charmeleon) - lvl 23
*Phoenix Jr (Fletchinder) - lvl 23
*Sanchez (Skiddo) - lvl 21
*Rex (Tyrunt) - lvl 20
Man, my Pokemon team has never been this closely-leveled

JDxImpetus October 13, 2013 12:56:17 AM

So I Absolutely love the huuuuuge gap between the 1st and 2nd Gyms. So During that time I got a Pancham, a Honedge, and an Absol and my super duper Squirtle. So I was busy grinding for hours and Now i'm making my Trek through the Glittering Cave.

-My Team-
Big Boss (Pancham) - Lvl 23
Combusken - Lvl 26
Wartortle - Lvl 24
SpiralSwords (Honedge) - lvl 18 (if anyone gets the reference you get a cookie)
Dr.Strange (Braixen) - Lvl 26
-Temporary Members-
Rapture (Absol) - Lvl 15

Magmaster12 October 13, 2013 10:55:08 AM

Man I'm getting really frustrated by the sudden jump in trainer levels on Route 9 it's like playing a certain Pokemon Hack Game.

Current Team
Lv 25 Ivysaur
Lv 25 Tyrunt
Lv 27 Frogadier
Lv 28 Combustien

kakashidragon October 13, 2013 11:10:41 AM

Well last night im at the end of some mirror cave, saved it right before leaving the cave so when i start i'll probaly be in the 3rd gym's town. Oh and with exp. share on most of my team is in the 30's. Evolved honedge too.

Cat333Pokémon October 13, 2013 12:06:33 PM

I passed through Camphrier Town and just started on Route 6. I've got to say that I'm definitely going to use the berry farm like crazy. I've been mostly playing slowly and talking to everyone in the towns. Poking that Snorlax will be fun. :P

Braixen (Firefox) - Lv. 23 (67 / 42 / 39 / 55 / 42 / 44)
Pikachu (Spamachu) - Lv. 17
Wartortle - Lv. 16
Zigzagoon (Cosinegoon) - Lv. 14
Furfrou (Perdita) - Lv. 9
Pidgeotto (Beegie) - Lv. 18

Cat333Pokémon October 13, 2013 01:02:43 PM

You're not supposed to use Zigzagoon to catch Honedge (a Ghost/Steel type), are you? :P I started with Odor Sleuth and made it flinch three times in a row with Headbutt. :p

JDxImpetus October 13, 2013 01:56:45 PM

Pancham Evolved into Pangoro...Now it's rightfully the Big Boss. And yay it's time for me to rightfully curb stomp the 3rd Gym Honedge is motivated :P and Braixen has Psyshock..I'm Seeeriously about to have fun here Since Aerial Ace utterly destroys everything. And I take care of the Gym Leader...with some problems Hawlucha is powerful...So i'm going to do A lot of Super Training, it's a fun and helpful distraction

Yoshi648 October 13, 2013 05:44:17 PM

Just finished the event that happens after the 3rd gym for those of you wanting to avoid spoilers:

I bet all of two people will read this!
  • First thing I did today was take on the 2nd gym. Took 4 Pokemon passing out because the only thing I had that would work well was Skiddo and he was a little under-leveled, but still was victorious.
  • On the way to the next town, passed lots o rocks.
  • Next town also had rocks and "artifacts" which were clearly covering up a small building or a box or something used by team flare. Of course I can't do anything about it yet, the story says so.
  • *looks at map* Alright, next destination is Route 11 and then a place called Reflection Cave. I know, I'll actually battle all the Pokemon I come across in the cave and become stronger! *5 minutes of being in the cave later* Hello Pokemart guy, I'd like 10 Super Repels please...
  • Arrived in Shalour City where I finally learned about Mega Evolutions and got my 3rd gym badge (which I literally just spammed Psyshock and won while only taking one hit). Then had a Mega Lucario battle with the gym leader (which I won in all of one turn) and got to keep the Lucario. Also the music during that scene is friggen beautiful.
  • After stocking on supplies, I set foot on Route 12 where I was given a free Lapras (sheesh, two free Pokemon I like within 10 minutes of each-other).

Tch, didn't even realize I could get a full starter set. Well, now I have 3 main Pokémon and I'm out to find the Bulbasaur.

So it took me a long time to find a Pikachu in the Santalune Forest. But I finally got one and named her Red in honor of Pokémon: The Origin. I love traveling in a group, it reminds me of the first partner up I experienced in the Eterna Forest... and the chubby dude is adorable~

Santalune City itself is wow. In fact, I think every place is going to be wow to me because it's in 3D! And the skates, oh they take my breath away~ I was starting to get worried that the 3D graphics would be wasted by restricting to grid movement, but they saved it! The Pokémon Center looks very deluxe now, but the Boutique... I need cash. (Why is Victory Road right next to the first gym? That's odd...)

Pokémon Gym 1 was a breeze~ Although it would've been nice if I was allowed to LEAVE so I could HEAL. Dude didn't even give me a Fresh Water :U Whatever, I still beat Viola with little stress. And she's a photographer. I like that.

Route 4 is a spectacular garden. The inner grass type is so pleased by its beauty... I could skate around it all day. And I met my first Fairy type there! I have to start using it and fighting it so I know what its type matchup is like!

SWEET JESUS LUMIOSE CITY. IT'S GRANDE. S-so... I'm guessing this is the gimmicky Castelia City of Gen VI, due to its perfect camera angle for skating and for a general 3D environment. ...I love it. I've been skating around for an hour for no reason~

And that's where I stopped. Time check!

Froaky- Level 14
Pikachu- Level 14
Combusken- Level 16

Caught: Bidoof, Fletchling, Flabébé

Badges: 1 Pokedex: 34

Saving takes 2 seconds... could this be any less beautiful?

Cat333Pokémon October 13, 2013 07:32:39 PM

Huzzah! Second gym leader defeated!

Open if you want tips
Bring a Grass (or Water) type and a Fairy type. There will also be a troublesome Relicanth near the beginning.

Team Flare is so weird, but the music for them is awesome. Also, I love the nickname "Zubat Roost." :P

Braixen (Firefox) - Lv. 31
Linoone (Cosinegoon) - Lv. 28

Pidgeotto (Beegie) - Lv. 27

Well I Did A LOT...After beating the 4th Gym I dealt with the Ever so fashionable Team Flare at the Power plant and beat them to their own awesome theme. Went to the 5th Gym with by far one of my most favorite gimmicks...QUIZ TIME!..and I mean that I like poke-trivia. And I actually had a Hard time dealing with the Gym leader there..I've never been so afraid of an Emolga before...but yeah I won. And I CAUGHT GOOMY...It's So cute VERY CUTE. And I go deal with the Fairy Gym..which means half of my team was utterly Useless At least my Delphox Dealt with it easily. Did I forget to mention Sylveon is a TANK!. Then Went to The Frost Cavern and Dealt with Team Flare AGAIN and Beat them Easily AGAIN. Ooooh Riding a Mamoswine :3...So I rode the Mamoswine to The next City and Easily beat my Rival and Beat the Psychic Gym with my Favorite Gimmick by far. and Doublade w/ +6 Attack did More than enough..oh Look it Evolved and Now I have Aeigislash and my team is Complete

Last update for today. Annnnnd.....Spoilers but first
THIS GAMES SOUNDTRACK IS AMAZING

Spoilers
HOLY EXPOSITION DUMP BATMAN. Jeez like That was a LOT of info I just saw concerning the Story. and Seeing Yveltal just Emerge and the fact that he drains life as it dies to form a cocoon stuff like that. The Story about a Weapon Ending THOUSANDS of Lives just out of sheer anger. Lysandre's Stubbornness to the entire thing that may or may not have killed him. like REALLY. THIS IS GOOD STORY TELLING. This may be on Par with Black and White's Story in My opinion. So I "Accidentally" Activate the weapon, and this crystal thing like...WOW Looking Beautiful in 3D. There may be something off about this dude that doesn't look like he's from Kalos...just sayin

Okay. The Last fight after getting Yveltal was HARD...I actually almost lost but I prevailed..*coughdumbluckcough*. Not much to say but Tyrantrum is Getting replaced on my team By Yveltal just cause I Love the darn thing so much...and I chucked my Master ball at it :P. Well After that Major Story unveiling I guess it's Time I move on with the Game. 8th Gym here I come :D

Three gym leaders down! No real trouble due to Delphox providing type advantages. I played with Amie a lot and realized how annoying the facial recognition is. It absolutely refuses to acknowledge my mouth opening. I also received a free Lucario with Lucarionite, but I haven't yet decided if I'm going to use it. Also, I swear I assigned Tyrunt its name without seeing Yoshi's post.

I beat the seven gym two days ago and I've been hunting for a shiny Trevenant ever since. Woops, completely forgot to update 0_0

Shade October 15, 2013 08:11:46 AM

Got my copy of X yesterday, but didn't get much time to play it [thanks work for calling me in].

Might not be needed but common courtesy

I ended up choosing Fennekin. I got through Route 1 [after catching a few mons] and the first forest. Ended up using the Super Trainer quite a bit to fully train Fennekin to avoid any EV problems down the road. I put all his training into SP. ATK and SPD. Currently at the entrance of Route 3, having to stop once again thanks to work.

Magmaster12 October 15, 2013 08:55:32 AM

Right now I'm trying find a Gligar and it's taking me forever.

kakashidragon October 15, 2013 10:49:01 AM

Saved In in the champions room! When i start i'll kick his/hers butt. Oh and for Yveltal i think i got 31ivs in 3 stats? I googled around and smogon had a very close stuff on its base stats (of what they got) so i soft rested a few times (about 10-15) and got the same stats about 8 different times with a hasty nature.

Twiggy October 15, 2013 12:35:24 PM

I suspect Yveltal has a significantly elevated catch rate so I held on the battle screen for a long while

Then I potshotted a Quick Ball.

How's that for single turn?

JDxImpetus October 15, 2013 12:49:44 PM

I Beat the 8th Gym, Sky Uppercut FTW, and got through Victory Road whilst beating my Rival...again and I finally got to the Pokemon League....it's Gigantic
So I waltz in and See the 1st Member...and She's a Fire type User...cue Blastoise...which actually fainted...thank god I had Pangoro to do something..
Next Is the Steel Type Member....Ohhhhhh thank god I have two fire types :D....And he's in a Suit of Armour...seems legit...Delphox and Blaziken stole the show.
And Ugh....the Water Type Member...I have 0 coverage against it..But Yveltal's Oblivion Wing is RIDICULOUSLY Powerful...until I saw Gyarados Dragon Dance....Twice..luckily Dark Pulse saved me.
And Now for the Dragon Type..*le trollface* Blastoise has Ice Beam So this is gonna be EASY. Step 1: Send Out Blastoise Step 2: Mega Evolve, Step 3: Ice Beam, Step 4: Repeat Step 3 against EVERYTHING
And Now for the Champion. And as I'm typing this I have ZERO Idea what that person uses. So I'll say who the Champ is sooooo.....
SPOILERS
It's Diantha and She has a Mega Gardevoir....

Oh...My....God...This theme Is REALLY EPIC!
But The Team Came Through..annnnnnnnnnnnnnd
tl;dr
I'M THE CHAMPION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Slow and steady Y, slow and steady.
  • Started off by visiting the power plant. I was disappointed by the lack of trees I could plug my laptop into, but dealt with some Team Flare shenaigans. You'd think the leaders of a organization would have more then one Pokeomon each...oh well easier to take down I guess.
  • After wandering around in the desert (oh I got to go South to go East? Makes perfect sense) I finally made it back to the future Lumoise with the newly re-opened Northern part. Went up the totally not the Eiffel Tower and got me 5th gym badge (sheesh, letting kids be gym leaders now? Then again, kids are sent out into the wild world all on their own at a young age).
  • Met my friends on route 14 and had a friendly battle that I won. The rain looked like a great spot to rest for the night (I'm sure Mozilla and Charla won't mind).

Sometimes I wish we've got more Inversion Battles. I got into one after the seventh gym, and...

Boy, it turns things upside-down! Type matchups are inverted. Take the type triangle, for example: usually it's Grass > Water > Fire > Grass. Now imagine it going the other way around. That's an Inversion Battle.

I just beat the game! I'm going to be making a huge post in my thread soon with details.

Yoshi648 October 16, 2013 07:44:29 PM

I can't drive 55, for I can only do 32.

Don't know why I'm putting this measly 6th gym stuff, most of you finished the game 12 times over already
  • Went through the swampy Route 14 (good thing I brought extra underwear). My friends met me at the "haunted house" where we were given "A wonderful story that will always haunt you...". Luckily I didn't need my extra underwear for that.
  • Made it to Laverre City where I went to face the next gym. Oh one of those gyms with the teleporty portals to go through a billion rooms, annoying those are. Oh fairy type, finally a gym I don't have an obvious advantage over. Got 6th badge so yay.
  • Team Flare trippin' balls at the Pokeball Factory. Too bad production had to stop. Free reward of a Master Ball and golden shiny thing.
  • Route 15 with a nice autumn feel to it, looks like a good place to stop for the day.

Well I beat the Champion today, and it felt pretty good to do it. I would put it on the thread I made for the run, but I was a giant derp and decided to play straight through from before the second gym to the E4, and I have no idea how to bundle that into one update, so, yeah...

Side note: It felt sooo right ending the Champion fight with a Hydro Cannon from my Blastoise. There's just, so much power with that move, and it works so well as a finishing move ;P

I caught Xerneas in my first quick ball. It was anticlimactic at best.

kakashidragon October 16, 2013 11:38:42 PM

I noticed latly in the hotels around the game, people keep teasing/talking about the hoenn region. 4 different times i seen text by the people about it. No other region is talked about so much in the game but this one. One guy in lumios city's hotel says something about the 40th anniversary of ruby, and the 45th anniversary of sapphire.

I have nothing to say to this. Just happened while Cat and I were talking after we did some trades.

This happened in the first forest in the game, pretty well just started off. Yes I have one on my team and yes he will now be replaced with this guy.

I finally got around to beating the first gym and getting my first badge. That first mon took me for a bit of a loop [bug/water type. Very clever] but I managed to get through. I've also fully trained and maxed affections to half of my team so far.

Cat333Pokémon October 17, 2013 05:24:34 PM

Seven gyms down! Yeah, I am taking it quite slowly. I keep getting distracted by various mechanics in the game, and I like exploring areas thoroughly before moving forward. All those Rock Smash and Waterfall areas don't help with that, though. Also, the Lost Hotel is kind of creepy. Judging by the levels below, I'd say it should be easy to guess who's out most frequently, but that's not really the case.

What's with

Post-game legendary Pokémon
Mewtwo

Being ridiculously easy to catch? I've been trying to reset for an optimal nature, and as it turns out, I have had two first-turn Quick Ball captures, and even when using Dusk Balls, it took only up to seven balls.

For a Pokémon that has a catch rate of 3 in the previous games... I wonder what has changed...

Anyway, gotta love three guaranteed 31 IVs. Looks like Special Attack and Speed are maxxed.

Yoshi648 October 18, 2013 08:43:58 PM

Slowly chugging along

Only the 7th gym completed? Sheesh, it's like I do something besides play videogames all day or something
  • Went to Dendemille Town. Dat windmill. Breeze was nice, but only a matter of time before...
  • Frost cavern. Freezing my Pokéballs off here in a tee-shirt and short pants. Once again stopped that wacky Team Flare from stealing things that aren't theirs (yet the other game I'm playing through I AM stealing everything that isn't mine).
  • Rode a Mamoswine I nicknamed Mr. Plow and got through even more snow on route 17.
  • Anistar City, finally out of that snow. Giant light statue thingy is SHINY, I like SHINY (though unlike everyone here, no shiny Pokemon for me yet...). Went through and got my 7th badge no problem. Oh snap, Team Flare is up to some srs business about removing everyone that isn't them. Luckily the grunts nearby happily told me where the hideout is.
  • CHARLA used FLY to get YOSHI'S BUTT to LUMIOSE CITY! The two waiters in the cafe told me where the secret hideout is (oh behind the bookshelf, never saw that one coming). Went inside and met ohifotgothisnamebuthehadalotofhairsoillcallhimsasq uatch. Finally, my first battle where I had more than one Pokemon faint, but still came out victorious. Sasquatch then told me exactly what I had to do to take them down (sheesh, and we wonder how large crime organizations can be taken down by just kids). Oh, the classic hideout-with-spinny-panels-and-warps. That requires thinking which I'm too tired to do, we'll pick it up tomorrow (don't think Team Flare will mind us spending the night here, they practically want me to take them down).

Seriously, not a single post in over 24 hours? You guys bored of the game already?

Is right in front of the Pokemon Justice League

Man, had a pretty busy day today:
  • First went through Team Flare's super secret base. Fought Sasquatch and then was given a choice to push one of two buttons (Matrix reference?). LOLDIDNTMATTER GEOSENGE GO BOOM ANYWAY.
  • Oh snap, Geosenge has like a giant shiny thingie in the center. Met a Team Flare member who was a fan of the Bee Gees. Went into yet another base and in the end saved Xerneas. Of course as soon as I've saved this Pokemon that has been sleeping for nearly 3000 years after saving the world, the first thing I did was cram it into a ball and deposit it into the PC.
  • Moving along I finally got back to my journey and went to Couriway Town which was sadly lacking in the running train department.
  • Next went to Snowball Sweetie Belle Snowbelle City and once again froze my Pokeballs off. Silly gym leader leaving his post during a work day, I had to track him down in the forest. Oh a village for runaway Pokemon, I should like hold an adoption day or something here. Anyhow, gym battle was nothing once again thanks to fire types (sheesh, this is like what the 3rd gym with fire types at an advantage? Fire types sure are getting a lot of love this time around.
  • More walking more walking more walking
  • Oh snap, the entrance to Victory Road (man what a dumb name, whoever uses that for a website name or something is stupid).
  • Victory Road = more walking more walking more walking... Reggie is that you?
  • More walking more walking more walking DOES THIS CAVE EVER FRIGGEN END!?
  • I see daylight, what year is it? Still 2013 but hey now finally at the Pokemon League. Man what a busy day, I think I'll call that a wrap-up for the day.

Nice to see they over loaded the game with internet memes again.

Apparently if you can't pay taxi fair the drivers will challenge to a battle.

After a full week I finally have the full day free to play the game and there's now nothing left for me to do until I can transfer my pokemon. :/

TurtwigX October 19, 2013 09:00:38 PM

Well it's not like I use this thread, I was specifically waiting for X, but...

Since the third gym I have expanded my team to include all the starters, the free Lucario, and even a Flying type so I can get places. Everything has been trained to the max through Super Training and is very happy because I love Pokemon-Amie.
Got my 7th badge. Now there's only one left since I've been playing this game all weekend. Now it's time to take on Team Flare at their base, who have strangely become a little less goofy... but no, they're still too silly to take seriously.

Also I just realized that Serena is supposed to be your rival. Oops.

Well I haven't even said what I've done... Oh well. Better start now...

I just tackled the 8th Gym today after spending yesterday finishing up with whatever Team Flare wanted.
Made it probably halfway through Victory Road before I stopped playing for my Saturday. And I can't stop petting my team...
I also feel like I may be a bit over leveled, but I'm not sure what to expect of the Elite Four. My team is fairly unbalanced right now, but I'm too far in to start training one of these other Pokemon I want to.

Well might as well finish while I'm at it.

Hm, that was actually quite easy.

League spoilers
All four Elite Four members were weak to one of my Pokémon (each Delphox, Heliolisk, Sylveon, and Tyrantrum), and one of the remainders (Linoone) worked out great against the Champion thanks to Gourgeist granting STAB with Trick-or-Treat.

Fennekin (Kitsune) @ 15

Also has anyone bred Noibats? I'd like to use one throughout the whole game.

Maybe. :P Pretty much, the method I used was chain fishing. Obtain a Pokémon with Suction Cups and go out on the water. Find a tight cove and fish there. You should be able to keep up a practically infinite chain of Pokémon. You don't have to defeat the non-shinies, either; you can just run. The chain is reset if you go indoors or fail to reel in a Pokémon when casting.

According to the guy in the Fishing Shack on Route 16, chained fishing does something special. As we all know from the PokéRadar, chaining + special = higher shiny odds.

Pokémon Z Legendary
Oh look, a Zygarde. Quite a pushover, though. It went into a Dusk Ball on the fifth turn. 28/4/31/9/31/31, Quirky. Eh, not like I'm going to use it. It's just going to hide out in the PC for the time being.

Spoiler Alert:
Mewtwo's mine! 31/31/31/23/23/29, Modest, Pressure. Now THAT's an excellent Mewtwo, and it's almost perfect. :o

I've been doing random battles with a Munchlax so I can see new move animations through metronome.

The first time I saw Calm Mind I fell in love. Something about it is just so great, especially with headphones in. <3

Last night, I finally managed to tear through the Battle Maison without too much trouble (almost lost at 18, though). I opted to do triple battles with Drought Ninetales on the left, Delphox in the middle, and Zoroark (appearing as Espeon) on the right. Yes, it was a triple-fox team. :P It took forever, though, as each person had six Pokémon each.

From what I've seen the only way to get more than 1 Leftovers in the game is to have a Pokémon with the Pickup ability at a really high level.

Or an extremely generous friend/another copy of the game.

I find the Battle Maison to be ridiculously easy to me. Whether I'm using the overpowered Speed Boost Mega Blaziken or my new Cross Generation team I seem to plow right through with little casualties. The only thing I hate is choosing which ones get to battle, I trained them all because I LOVE them all. Maybe I'll try triple battles just for that reason.

I also got in my first real battle with the team. It was amazing how it all came together. A few things needed to be changed, unfortunately, but it was a great win.

After beating X and Y, I've recently been battling people at my school. Fortunately, they're around my skill level (And not crazy IV breeders like SOME people) and I'm able to wipe the floor with almost everyone except for one guy who we always alternate between wins and losses.

Team:
Ryu(Lucario), Scuro(Umbreon), Aegislash, Gloopy(Goodra),Venusaur, and Sylveon. Too lazy to remember levels. No idea about IVs but I EV trained them optimal to their movesets.

I have a level 100 gourgest with pickup, and i still havnt got 1 leftovers from it, but i got everything else at least 3 times.

Also on your birthday, if u walk into a pokemon center for the first time during the day, they throw u a small party of sorts (mostly the congrats thing) and music will change to a more slower/lower pitch of the center theme. (To me it sounds like a babys music version of the center theme) then if u try to heal your mons, the nurse will say "Happy Birthday" "We hope u visit us alot in the years to come" (Got Pretty close to what she says)
