The Surface 2 and the Surface Pro 2
Details and pre-order information here.
As an owner of a Surface RT, I can say that they can only get better, barring major firmware bugs (that will get fixed anyway seeing as Microsoft is very good at patching and support of their hardware and software). (Also: the current Surface RT will still be sold as a lower-cost version) What'd you think? |
Hm, they're obviously taking advice from Apple with the way they're marketing the new version of Surface.

I kind of want the Surfaces to succeed, even though it's pretty unlikely when considering the context of the entire tablet market. |
I think the main thing about the Surface is that it's quite expensive (on the same tier as the iPad), but compared to your typical tablet it's also quite powerful. The main reason to get one is if you want a proper desktop operating system on a tablet.
My step-mom has been using Windows tablets since Windows 7 because she does a lot of her work while laying in bed, where it's very uncomfortable for her to use a laptop. While she hasn't had a Surface, she currently works with several Windows 8 systems, including an ASUS Eee Slate tablet. |
One thing I do know is that working with a Surface RT felt so much nicer than the 7" Samsung Android I had that I want to sell the latter.
