Top 5 and Bottom 3 Pokemon of Gen V
All right everyone, time to rank your favorite and least favorite Pokemon of the new 156. Personally, I think this is a strong generation of Pokemon, a lot of really good designs with only a few I find to be bad. I'm making it top 5 and bottom 3 so there's more gushing about good Pokemon and less complaining about bad ones. Also, only take one from any family.
Top 1. Hihidaruma: This should be obvious. I love Darumakka too. 2. Meloia: My favorite legendary ever. Step form is equally awesome. 3. Basurao: It's a pirate fish. With an eyepatch that changes colors. 4. Kirikizan: And just below the pirate is the ninja. I like the blade theme and the typing. 5. Dokkora: He's a clown who hits people with a wooden board. That's pretty funny. Bottom 1. Mamanbou: Dear lord. Why would you include what was obviously designed as a Luvdisc evolution IF IT DOESN'T EVOLVE FROM LUVDISC? 2. Gear: I like the gear theme, it has so much potential, but the design is just lame, all of it's evolutions are just boring add ons. 3. Gamegaroge: The head of the frog family. I don't like these guys, they're ugly and they're not as good as Wooper, or Poliwag, or Croagunk. Ugh. |

1) Futachimaru: My favorite Pokemon. Good design - it's a samurai otter, what can possibly beat that? :P Sadly, its evolution is not as good as I'd hoped design-wise. I would've loved an evo that actually resembled Futachimaru (like a... shogun otter or something). 2) Desukan: Interesting Pokemon. Equally interesting ability that seems to have no real point whatsoever. It has a better design than I expected, good stats, and I think it's really cool that it was once a human. 3) Hihidaruma: Awesome baboonmon. 4) Shanderaa: Also has great stats and a unique typing. It's a pretty creepy Pokemon (it eats the souls of old/dying people). 5) Urugamosu: Like the others, good design, good typing, good stats (especially for a bug-type). Weird. Three of my top five are fire-types. Bottom 1) Baibanira: ...No comment. 2) Furijio: Not a very good design. Just the idea of a snowflake Pokemon is kinda... suckish. 3) Dasutodasu: The Garbage Bag Pokemon. Ugly as heck. |

Epic chanderlair. Amazing stats. Second: Churine I like it. NOT it's evo. THird: Janobii It's better than last one for sure. Fourth: Gamageroge Frogs = fav animal Fifth: Kokokormi To be onhest, I KINDA like it. *realises i don't have someone to fly. Crud. Third-to-last: Tabunne Girls excuse of buneary. Second-to-last: Desumasu To be ohnest, I was expecting more of Desukans pre-evo. Last: Gochimu Uggg. Looks like a bald baby girl. |
Top 5-
1. Doryuuzu My favorite since he was announced. He's competing with Mismagius for favorite Pokemon right now... And winning. 2. Daikenki Gotta love this guy. Just a really cool starter. 3. Gigaiasu An amazing Rock-type. An absolutely amazing replacement for the Geodude line. 4. Jaroda This is the first time in a while... Like, since Megainium, that a starter went the Majestic route. It's very refreshing. 5. Dasutodasu When I first saw this joker I was disgusted. But the more I looked at it the more I liked it. It's crazy but cool. Bottom 3- 1. Maggyo Just....... No. What... I... NO. 2. Dotekkusu Clowns scare me. Dotekkusu is why. 3. Zuruzukin Pants on the ground, pants on the ground. Looking like a fool with yo pants on the ground. |

Choroneko - This kitty is beautiful and cute. Its stats may be abominable, but all that really matters is how cute they are. #2 Futachimaru - It's like a toughened-up mijumaru! What happened to its evolved form, I don't know. I just know my futachimaru will be staying a futachimaru. #3 Zorua - Cute little fox baby~! 'Nuff said. #4 Desukan - It's not fuzzy, and I'm not sure if it's a mammal, and it isn't cute, but how can you NOT like a sarcophagus pokemon? It has ghost arms! #5 Chillarmy - Cute, fuzzy mammal and has a cute cry in the game. All of those are subject to change once Black and White are released in English. The same goes for my least favorites. Now: #3 Tabunne - UGLINESS! It's the Chansey of this generation. It looks like a gremlin! #2 Emboar - Once again, UGLY! #1 Mamanbou - The bringer of bad news, no new evolutions for pokemon. That means no new eeveelutions. They say you shouldn't kill the messenger, but I take my anger out on this poor thing. |
I'm surprised nobody has said anything about Maggyo except me.

Maggyo's kind of cute in it's ugliness, like Dunsparce. Plus it's a new combination for electric, which I always welcome.
Personally, I can't see why people like Gamegaroge. You can't say it's because you love frogs, because Poliwrath, Politoed, and Toxicroak have basically covered the frog area. It's typing is something we have on four other families of pokemon. And it's butt ugly. |

1.Denchura- The design rocks and any way, it's a electric trantula! 2.Warubiaru- When I first saw meguroku I was sure that I would put it on my team. Warubiaru just looks cool and its stats work together very well. Crocodiles are epic too. 3.Sazando- Being a three-headed dark dragon should be enough but Sazando takes coolness to the next level. The only drawback? The 1st stage (Monozu) evolve at LV 50 and the 2nd stage evolves at LV 64. 4.Leparudasu- I love cats. I love leopards. I think that explains it. 5.Aakeosu- OK, it doesn't look the best but I just took one glance at its stats and I thought "wow". Bottom: 1.Mamanbou- It isn't really a bad pokemon, it's just because we are still angry about the patheticness of luvdisc. Then when something appears that seems so similar to luvdisc we shout "hooray!" And then we find out they aren't related. 2.Emboar- Really, another FIRE/FIGHTING TYPE! That's three generations in a row now, but at least Blaziken and Infernape were (and are) cool and pretty good in a battle. This thing looks like it will get wiped out before it moves. 3.Hiyakki- I just hate the design. It cannot compete with the other two monkeys in design and it really does look ugly. |

In my opinion, most of the designs for this generation were EXTREMELY UGLY and most of them were a complete let down. My top and bottoms pogémanz are:
Top: 1. Warubiaru- Epic red giant crocodile 2.Jalorda- best starter of generation 3. Gigaisu- looks real powerful 4. Shandera- Real good stats and decent design 5. Desukan- awesome design, first human pokémon- or a least it was a human beffore it died BOTTOM:(note: I dislike so many of these pokémon that this was a real toughy) 1. Naetorri-looks retarded and ugly 2. Maggyo- Piece of crap fish=fail 3. Reshiram- Biggest letdown i've ever had from a legendary. Did they have to show it's croch/ It looks disgusting because of that....tuft of fur. |

Really, this thing just doesn't seem capable of DOING anything. Hell, it has an annoying personality too. Game Freak gave us an annoyingly cute Electric squirrel already, but they dared to have the nerve to give the two disgustingly similar base stats as well. Really, this thing is truly detestable. At least Maggyo has the charm of being blatantly unlikable, but this thing is just another cutesy Pokemon sans originality. |

1) Futachimaru - SAMURAI FRIGGIN' OTTER. 2) Waruvile - I love everything about this guy. It's based off my favorite animal, plus it's got that badace smug pose. 3) Victini - Yay supah kyoot event legendary! 4) Shandera - Unique type combo, highest non-legendary special attack, and it can friggin' suck out your soul with its flame. 5) Bachuru - KYOOT!! 1) Furiijio - A snowflake Pokemon. Seriously, wtf. 2) Miruhoggu - Ugly. 3) Kokoromori - Uglier. |

I swear, this is by far the best gen yet. And ever since I started actually playing the game, my love for the new Pokemon has gone way up. This list is gonna be really hard to make... His design is probably better than Volcarona's (the only complaint I have is that there is no way he can stay in the air with those wings). It's cool how he has two brainless heads that function as mouths-slash-hands, except when I realize that one of the Zweilous heads must have died during evolution. RIP second Zweilous head. I knew thee well. It looks like the predecessor of Scizor plus a laser beam. One thing I don't like about this guy is his 99 speed (come on, GF! I'm going edit my list. This is one of my favorite generations, maybe even the best.
1. http://floatzel.net/pokemon/black-wh...images/496.png This guy is just plain awesome. Probably one of the most awesome starters out there. The design just screams epic and its moveset is great (Even without Contrary + Leaf Storm.). I can't wait to get Pokemon White so I can see this guy in action. 2. http://floatzel.net/pokemon/black-wh...images/494.png Epic Legendary is epic from every aspect. From awesome moves to awesome stats to epic battle music. Seriously, that's the best theme I've ever heard.

One look and you know it's gonna bust a karate move at the drop of a hat to the opponent and OHKO it. 4. http://floatzel.net/pokemon/black-wh...images/552.png The pose tells me "Pfft, come on dude. This foe isn't even a challenge." Plus it has an epic typing and moveset to match. 5. http://floatzel.net/pokemon/black-wh...images/579.png That's one chunk of a Sp. Attack stat. Plus a good ability and awesome moveset, you'll be raeging when I send this guy out on the field. The top three least favorites are going to be a real toughie (My least least favorite's at the bottom, not the top.). 3. http://floatzel.net/pokemon/black-wh...images/627.png Meh. Looks more like a Digimon or something. :/ 2. http://floatzel.net/pokemon/black-wh...images/618.png DERPFISH. 1. http://floatzel.net/pokemon/black-wh...images/591.png I personally don't like Poison/Grass types all that much. Ugh, now that I made this and I'm listening to Pokemon Black and White music I REALLY want this game. Which is a problem since I want to buy the 3DS with it, but I'll have to wait for it's release. >.< Good thing it's just a week away. |

Seriously, Scolipede is such a fantastic Pokemon it is not even funny. After playing White, my adoration for Scolipede went up ten-fold, which makes him a natural candidate for spot number one of the list. 2)http://archives.bulbagarden.net/medi...r_5b_593_f.png Why do stars, fall down from the sky every time you walk by... Just like me, they long to be close to you... This Pokemon was a very close second. Female Jellicent is another amazing Pokemon, that I was very impressed with through the entire game. Able to take a Thunderbolt or Dark Pulse and stay standing, Jellicent is no slouch. Design-wise AND ability-wise, Jellicent is amazing. 3)http://archives.bulbagarden.net/medi...Spr_5b_497.png On the day that you were born the angels got together and decided to create a dream come true... Normally starters and their evolutions don't make my lists of favorites, but Serperior is different. I love snakes, and this one was very well done. Looks great and plays great, Serperior easily takes number three on the list. 4)http://archives.bulbagarden.net/medi...d/a/ad/594.png So they sprinkled moondust in your hair, of gold and starlight in your eyes of blue... Everyone hates poor Alomomola. While the fact that it is not a Luvdisc evolution is indeed sad, looking at this Pokemon is a stand-alone Pokemon really helps. Forget what the Pokemon represents to disappointed fans, just try to admire the elegance and positive points of number four. 5)http://archives.bulbagarden.net/medi...Spr_5b_626.png That is why all the girls in town follow you around... Just like me, they long to be close to you... Bouffalant wraps up my list of favorites because of its pure bulk, and the fact that it is named after the bouffant, a hairstyle adorned by my favorite band of all, the B-52's. Least Favorites: 1)http://archives.bulbagarden.net/medi...Spr_5b_516.png Good god this Pokemon is unpleasant. The cheery nature, and the fact that it looks disturbingly human-like make this a really unlikable Pokemon for me. 2)http://archives.bulbagarden.net/medi...Spr_5b_514.png Game Freak seems to have a knack for making monkeys with annoying personalities. This Pokemon looks far too wimpy and prissy to be of any use whatsoever, so I find it worth ignoring and disliking. 3)http://archives.bulbagarden.net/medi...r_5b_521_f.png What went wrong HERE? Pokemon, upon evolution, are typically meant to have impressive final evolutions. Not here, I guess. It looks like a branch could kill it, and its stats are very meager compared to... just about everything else. We went from the vicious and intimidating Staraptor to... this. At least it can give Noctowl some company. Oh wait, at least Noctowl is fairly original. Looking back at my first post, there were very minor changes! Volcarona and Gothitelle left my list of favorites in exchange for Serperior and Bouffalant, but the dislike list was just about the same. XD The only change was Emolga for Simisear, but Emolga was close I'll have you know. |

Top 5 1. Munna - No surprises here, you knew it was coming. 2. Emboar - My 2 favorite types, fighting and fire (I always end up loving the fire starters). Blaziken is still one of my faves for the same reasons as Emboar. Besides the types, it also looks cool and has a great moveset, especially when a few TMs are used. :D 3. Haxorus - Dragons are pretty cool, and I like spiky lookin' stuff. o3o lus the giant blades by this dude's mouth make it ossim. 4. Bisharp - As you read above, pointy things look cool. Plus the type combo of this dude is pretty nice. 5. Zekrom - I usually have a few Legendaries from each generation that ate my favorite and this dude is the one I love from Gen V. Looks awesome, and Electric goes quite well with Dragon. Bottom 3 1. Watchog - The 3rd worst Pokemon of Gen V, since is it the evolution of Patrat. Yes, see beeow. 2. Patrat - Ratatta with a visual edit, very original. :I Plus it's just freaking annoying. 3. Musharna - WHY THE HELL WOULD YOU EVOLVE MUNNA YOU STIPID BI-*is taken into solitary confinement for 5 years* Honorable mention for the bottom 3 is the monkey trio. Yeah, the evolutions are a little better, but you get to face them 30 times each in B/W. Not good Nintendo. If you're gonna do that get some better Pokemon to do it with. Frankly you just shouldn't do it at all, I only need the Dex entry once. ._. Reshiram also gets honorable mention in the top 5 for it's awesome type combo. And in case you wondered my favorite 3 types are Fire, Fighting, and Dragon. :D |

Top 5 1. Scrafty Yes, because yes. He was originally on the bottom of my list, but he's grown on me. A lot. And since I've used him on White, I can honestly say he's now my favorite 5th gen Pokemon and one of my favorite Pokemon overall. 2. Scraggy Like Scrafty, but cuter. 3. Klinklang I'm obsessed with Steampunk, and this is the closest thing to a Steampunk Pokemon there is. Plus it's just stupidly strong. Shift Gear + Gear Grind = Win. 4. Excadrill Excadrill's been knocked down a few places since my original list, but is still up here for obvious reasons. 5. Garbodor Poison is one of my favorite types. I always love pure-poison Pokemon, and Garbodor is no exception. A lot of people call him ugly. I think of him as "eccentric." He's a great Pokemon if given a chance and therefore gets a spot on my top 5. Bottom 3 1. Watchog Seriously. It's everywhere, and looks like a pissed off Dr. Seuss animal. GTFO my internets. 2. Throh and Sawk I put Throh and Sawk AKA Bert and Ernie together. They're just... Creepy. My god. they look like Nazis. I want to erase them from the Pokedex and replace them with Mudkip. 3. Top 5 Pokemon:
Serperior- I love all grass starters and this Pokemon is my favorite of all 5 grass starters. Krookodile-Looks awesome and badass. Cofagrigus- At first I wasn't a fan into that Pokemon, but I warm up and I think it's a cool looking Pokemon. Reshiram- Like the design and has a high special attack. Did I mention that it's awesome? Joltik- Awww, it's an adorable itsy bity spider. How could you not like it? Unless you are afriad of spiders. Bottom 3: Seismitoad- A warty and fat toad. And plain ugly. Garbodor- Not fond of the look. Druddigon- The Color doesn't go together and the design isn't exactly original. |

Top: 1. Darmanitan: Still my favorite Gen V pokemon, it's behind Sableye and Togekiss for favorite overall. 2. Reuniclus: This guy has really grown on me, I've got to say. He's a big part of why I bought white. 3. Krookodile: It's so badass with those shades. 4. Conkeldurr: I like him. He's like an old man clown bane. 5. Serperior: Awesome starter. I'm still waiting for the Dream World version. Honorable Mention: Meloetta: She doesn't technically exist yet, but I really like her design. Bottom: 1. Pansage: Dear lord, Pansage pales in comparison to Infernape and Darmanitan 2. Tranquill: Say what you will about Unphezant being lame, at least it has that cool mask. This guy gets nothing. 3. Cottonee: A poor design, I think. Good thing its evolution is a lot better. |

1. Chandelure-I have loved him ever since Serebii released the B/W sprite sheets illegally and I got my first look at him 2. Whimsicott-This guy has really grown on me. I love his afro and how he bounces around all the time :D 3. Hydreigon-He has mouths for hands and he is amazing /end 4. Braviary-Totally BA looking eagle with great stats and moves. Much better than all the other flying types in this generation. I only wish I could have got him earlier. 5. Samurott-I like him better in the concept art where he's standing on two legs, but he is still amazing and I just love the idea of a samurai otter. Bottom 3: 3. Garbodor-Absolutely disgusting. I wince whenever I encounter one. 2. Sawk and Throe-The last thing pokemon needs is kung fu muppets. To be honest I really don't like any of the fighting types. The Timburr line was a terrible idea and the legendary dogs look really lame. 1. Simipour. Nuff said. |

1. Jalorda - FINALLY a green snake, and a snake that isn't poison-type! And for bonus, it's grass-type! Great success! Favorited from beggining. When I saw Tsutarja, I was really hoping it would evolve into something awesome...and it did! 2. Ferrothorn - As the Japanese name says: Splendorous nut. With tentacles. Awesome. 3. Durant - A steel ant with mean eyes that learns guillotine! Nice! 4. Sigilyph - Nazca line design of pure awesome. 5. Elgyem/Beheeyem - Little grey that evolves into an alien in disguise. Bottom 1. Vanillite : An ice cream. On a cup. 2. Vanillish: Now it's a bigger scoop. On a cone. 3. Vanilluxe : Great. Now it has two scoops. That makes it so much better. And so much different. |

Best:
1) The Ferroseed evolutionary line - I love defensive Pokemon, and this guy is an epic wall who also has pretty good Attack. Plus, of course, he has an epic design. 2) The Chandelure line - They wait for people to die and steal their souls by incinerating their bodies. That's pretty bada$$. 3) Volcarona 4) Reuniclus 5) Cofagrigus - When they revealed its back sprite, everyone was making (suckish) fanmade front sprites. The real deal is way better than I expected. The only way it could have been better was if it was made part steel-type. And if we actually got to see what was inside the coffin. If they took out/replaced these Pokemon, this generation would be pretty much perfect: 1) The Panpour line - They just look too... cartoonish. 2) Simisear - Everything about its design is stupid. Cotton on its shoulders, its bulging belly, its huge ears, that smile... wtf 3) The Shelmet line 4) Unfezant (Pidove and Tranqull are cool.) 5) The Woobat line |
