Opinion on XNA framework?
For those of you who don't know what XNA is, it's a C# framework for making games for Windows PCs and Xbox 360s.
Anyways, I've been using it and I find it to be a good, stable framework. However, a few months a go Microsoft said they weren't going to be updating it or making a new version, and since then, I've seen a lot of people saying using it is a waste of time. I think it's still a great resource, so what do you guys think?(If any of you guys have used it, of course. Not sure how many of you guys have.) |
I thought it was great. 2D games turned out nice and smooth. Unity's probably better for 3D though.

I had previously considered messing around with it, but with it going the way of the dodo, I think I'll just move on to Metro.
|
Metro? I'm not familiar with that.
I'm looking into Monogame right now, it's made to be a cross-platform version of the XNA framework, and the creators say they'll keep working on it and improving it. I think it's worth a shot. |
It's the interface in Windows 8 and Windows Phone.
