Default Error Code 86420

Okay, so I've been Brawling online for a while and now all of a sudden I'm getting that error code, and I haven't changed ANYTHING on my router. So what's going on?

That didn't help. XD Is today like, national BRAWL day or something? Where everyone in the world has to log on?

It says the error could happen even if it's not your router, meaning something's wrong with the other person's router.

Seeing as Brawl is kinda old, not as many people will be playing online Brawl, meaning you're probably getting paired up with the same person who has the faulty router.

Which means you are possibly being paired up with the person with the faulty router. Brawl is old (4 years old in fact), so less people will be on its multiplayer, plus not a lot of people use the Wii's multiplayer so that's even less people. Or there's the possibility that a group of people have faulty routers. Or the very last possibility is that your router's settings were changed unexpectedly.

I just reset my router's settings to default, then changed it all back to how I had it. It worked for one match, but I was paired up with a bunch of noobs, so I left when the match was done, And when I went to join another, bam, 86420...

You should look up guides on Port Forwarding, and set up a manual IP address for your Wii. There's plenty of guides out there on the internet, so if you're capable of patience and following directions then it's a possible way to solve your problem. That being said, Brawl's online isn't very stable.

aka, you might have a strict NAT.

I thought of that, but how do I do it on a NETGEAR router?

Here's what Nintendo has to say on that one.

Hm, I wonder if Nintendo is re-allocating its servers for other uses, but with a significant number of players still online, it's still busy?

I've looked up the erreor codes already but I just wanted to post them here anyway. I played a couple rounds just now perfectly fine, so...

Hm, maybe you're getting the same phenomenon that happens with the Pokémon games? You somehow can only connect with one or two specific people, but anyone else won't connect. The next day, everything works fine.
