Lol! I never had problems with gym leaders.
The one I found most annoying was Wallace, only because of his gym's layout. Stupid puzzles. I JUST WANNA SLAP YOU ACROSS THE FACE WITH MY POKÉBALLS AND GET IT OVER WITH

Gen I - Misty or Sabrina - Too close to call for me
Gen II - Whitney - I always lose on the first try Gen III - Wallace - Got Replaced by Juan... He became Champ, later chump. Gen IV - Maylene in Diamond and Pearl, Fantina in Platinum also I start fire types for Gens I, III, IV; I roll a die when it comes to Johto those starters are hard to choose between (mostly because I like 'em)

Coulda sworn I had posted in this thread...
1st Gen: I don't think I had much trouble with most of the leaders. If any, I guess I'd say Sabrina or Koga 2nd Gen: Whitney. That Miltank is pure evil. 3rd Gen: Norman. I have a nasty tendency to skip trainers and run from every other wild Pokémon, which tends to leave me underleveled. This also happened against Tate and Liza in Emerald. 4th Gen: Volkner. See 3rd gen statement.

Pt: Mayline. I would have never beaten her without a Rotom.
SS: Clair. I had to do a lot of training in the Ice Cave. Though Whitney is tough, because of her Miltank of Uber Doom.

Gen I - Brock, if it were Pokemon Yellow.
Gen II - Jasmine ((I have never had problems with Whitney. Am I alone?)) Gen 3 - Wattson Gen 4 - ...No one comes to mind, actually.
