The only thing I can think of at the moment...
When I was 5, I thought there were only 5 boxes in the PC in Pokemon Silver. I threw a tantrum at my friend because he stored my Feraligatr in the 7th box and I couldn't find it. Last edited by Idno58; February 13, 2011 at 12:41:34 PM. |

I do that all the time and it works perfectly. A level 80 starter at the beginning of the E4 isn't too shabby at all, just get a free legendary via Master Ball and use your other 4 Pokemon (caught in Victory Road of course) as decoys. :3

I also used to try to catch other trainers' Pokemon thinking that it would actually work sometime, and I also used to restart the game a lot just because I was bored. Then I got smarter and realized what I was doing with both of those. |

It is, isn't it?
*checks http://dex.victoryroad.net/pokemon/Steelix * ...Wah? Well, so I guess I only just figured that one out. You can also count me into the Geodude->Onix group, as well as Tombstone. That's about it, though... ...Oh yeah, I still like to this is true. |

I used to believe the videos on Youtube which claimed that you could obtain Celebi in Emerald at the beginning of the game. I even tried that twice, but since they both didn't 'work', I gave up and forgot about it.

Here is the most epic fail eva:
Ground and Fighting were part of Rock type until Emerald. They where split into 3 types then. I STILL haven't caught a Ground or Fighting type in Crystal and before. More fails: Steel was weak to grass. Mewtwo was a glitch pokemon. (After watching the Mew3 nonsense on youtube, I got suspicous O.O) That legendaries couldn't be caught. Yep. I probably made the biggest fails in the history of pokemon. |

Also, Water was good against fire (I saw Ash make mist out of a flamethrower in the anime :S) Last edited by AnathemA; February 19, 2011 at 07:04:35 AM. |

Oh yeah, I believed in the Celebi glitch in R/S too. Especially since there was this guy who claimed to know all about the glitch, saying that if you used EVEN ONE Action Replay code, the Celebi you would encounter through the glitch would destroy your entire game forever. You wouldn't even be able to restart, it would linger onto your new games. (I totally thought I could bypass this as I had the action replay backing up software, heh)

You know how in R/S/E, Double Kick's animation showed two kicks hitting the Pokemon at two random, different areas? I used to think that if the animation hit the butt of the Pokemon, it'd have a higher chance of being a critical hit. XI

Oh, y'know... the good ol' A+B trick. I still do it to this day.
I used to belive in Emerald if you got all the event Pokemon you'd get a new area where the Legendary Beasts would show up, and when you got there, the Birds showed up, too. And then they'd fight, and after that the Gym Leaders would come to save your behind. And finally, Riakou would try to hit you, but your starter would take the hit, and die. Oh I have one
Pretty stupid one at that too. I actually believed when you got 3 years worth of hours on Pokémon R(G)BY Johto would have been opened up to battle those Gym Leaders. I actually believed that Mew was somewhere else other than the truck, but still in the map where the SS Anne was at. |

I thought Prof. Oak would give you a Mew if you beat Gary 5 times. And I also thought you can somehow sneak in the rocket from Ruby/Sapphire and fly to the moon to catch Deoxys. I always got this fake information from my friends.

I still press A and B to "increase the chances of catching a Pokémon" even though it isn't true. But since I've been doing it for so long, it's almost like an OCD thing - "The reason I didn't catch it is because I forgot to press the buttons!!!" So I can't really stop.
Reading through these rumors posted here, I don't think I've heard any of them beside the pressing A and B one. |

In an episode where Team Rocket attempts to steal Corsola jewelry, James says this is their 600th heist, which I assumed meant it was the 600th episode. It was actually somewhere in the early 200s. I believe it is this episode.

You could interact with the ghosts in the Old Chateau. (I thought my game was broken when I couldn't move)
Mossdeep Space Center. You could get on the rocket and catch Jirachi/Deoxys Your Pokemon would be even stronger if you Rare Candy'd them to level 100 instead of battling If you pressed A each time the Pokeball would... uh, shake? It would increase the chances of capturing it. If you brought Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf to the Celestic Ruins, you'd get the other versions mascot without trading. Running through Grass would make less Wild Pokemon appear If you beat the Elite 4 in Diamond/Pearl 7 times in a row, it would unlock a new secret city. |

Once my friend said that you can't put Kyogre and Groudon into your party at the same time bcause they would start fighting and they will suddenly disappear. That is really, really, really, really, really, really stupid and I am too to believe it at that time.

When I was 6 I read something about something about when you got to Mt. Silver a particular no. of times, Tony Hawks would ride up to the place were Red would stand and ask to trade your bike for his skateboard and if you said no he'd take all your pokemon.... Pretty gullible much but hey I was 6

Due to a mistranslation (glares angrily at Serebii Joe), when B/W were out in Japan, I used to think Team Rocket made an appearance. And not just a single former member cameo. I thought they were the main bad guys alongside Team Plasma. I also thought they stage an attack on the Game Freak headquarters.
Also post 800 babeh. Last edited by Leaftail; April 2, 2011 at 06:10:07 AM. |

Here's one for you Yoshi.
Back when Cheat Code Central was my only gaming website I could go to as a kid on my old computer, I believed in the Yoshi glitch of Pokemon Yellow. Here's how it went: Beat the game. Don't run into any Pokemon on your way to Mewtwo in Unknown Dungeon. Meet Mewtwo with Pikachu at the front of your party. Then you fought Yoshi. I seriously tried this and it never worked for obvious reasons. |

Before the release of Pokemon Diamond and Pearl (Back when I was a total noob at Pokemon.) I thought there were some "forgotten Pokemon" that were so old they weren't even programmed into the games. One of which I thought were forgotten was Togepi. xD

In one of the Gen 3 Games, there is this guy that is watching TV, and he tells you to move if you are in his way. My cousin told me that if you walk in front of him 100 times, on the 100th time, he will give you a Deoxys, and say that if you stop, he will give you the deoxys. I fell for that. I fell for sooo many things, but i am just easily persuaded...

When I was maybe 7 or 8, my cousin told me that Snorlax evolved into a Pokémon called Fatso. I forget how he said it evolved, but I tried it, and when it didn't work, I was convinced he didn't have the level right, or something. He also told me that if you bred Snorlax, you'd get a Pokémon called Munchlax. I find that coincidence indescribably cool.

I once believed that Bug type sucked...okay, that might still be true... |

yeah, they took the uber-rific cute psychic type and split it into three not-so-uberific cute psychic types. Unless shaymin was a part of the plan. It is cute and uberific, although it has a certain lack of psychicness.

At the risk of straying too far off-topic...
Every generation there is an event Legendary with 100 base stat points in every stat. In Gen IV, both Shaymin and Manaphy would be that generation's uberkawaii Legendary. They just aren't psychic type like the rest. Come to think of it, they're not cute either... |

I used to think Onix was a rare Pokemon. I wasted a Master Ball on one in Yellow Version's Victory Road, then immediately saved afterwards. Then I found out they were common in Victory Road, and that Moltres was in the same area.
I was so pissed. |

I saw a hack video of Ruby when I was younger, where the player gave Venusaur a fire stone, and it evolved into a fire Venusaur. I thought this was true for the longest time, but I thought it wasn't working because I had Sapphire instead.

When I was young, I did believe in the A+B+Down trick.
I remember I was playing Yellow once and I encountered a Scyther in the Safari Zone. I freaked out and mashed many buttons when I threw the Pokéball, but all that happenned is... the game froze. Yeah... Did you know that in HG/SS, if you walk in the grass, Pokémon are less likely to appear? (It's not a rumor this time, though. A Trainer's Tip sign says that in-game.)
