Pokémon Video Game Championships 2011 details revealed

Some details for this year's Pokémon Video Game Championships have been revealed by the Pokémon website. Known details so far are:

• The Finals for this years Championships will be held in August in San Diego, California!
• Battles will take place only on Pokémon Black and White.
• Battles will be conducted in the double battle rules; Each contestant may register 4-6 Pokémon, and may only take four of them into each battle, with two active at once.
• Pokémon will be capped at level 50. Any Pokémon above level 50 will be reduced to level 50 for each battle, but any Pokémon under level 50 will stay at their original level.
• Only Pokémon from the Unova Pokédex may be used! Pokémon with a National Dex number of 493 or below may not be used!

Wow. This should be interesting. People only have 5 months to raise entirely new teams.

I agree with the both of you. I hate why they always put stupid rules in it and its gonna be hard to raise a entirely new team for it. Hopefully I will be able to go to one of these tournaments. I have tried for the last 3 years but havent gotten a chance to go because its either to far away or I am racing on the date of the nearest tounament.

Oh hey I'm going to be in San Diego in August.

Too bad I hate the stupid rules that they implement in these tourneys, so I don't think I will be attending. Plus getting in the finals would be pretty hard, haha.

The fact that it's double battles only is what really throws me. We'd be able to use the Gen V pokemon a lot more freely if it were single battles. With these rules, everyone is going to be using Jellicent and Ferrothorn.
