Down to my last pokemon, at only a measly level 64 was Charizard. Red was staring me down hard with his Lapras. After miraculously surviving its Brine I retailiated with Fire Blast and won!!!
EV Training my 600th Mudkip I found a shiny Seaking. I caught it and it had Pokerus. Imagine my luck |

1.Why would you train hundreds of mudkips and not Swamperts? 2.Can you even catch a Pokemon with Pokerus? Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. And on top of that, what exactly are you training your Mudkips' EV's in anyway? |

I got my first Shiny in HG legitimately (I've had event shinies before, and ironically a Wurmple in an Emerald ROM, but nothing otherwise). ...It was a Magikarp. |

Me trying to catch Lugia in my SS game was a very great story, but not really in the way most of you expect:
I prepared a Timid Synchronizer to catch a Lugia with a Timid nature, and went to the Whirl Islands. There, I had to soft-reset my game 4 times because: -It had a nature which I didn't want (1 time) -I accidentally defeated it (1 time) -It used Struggle and killed itself (2 times) During every battle, I always paralyzed it and decreased its HP to somewhere around 5~10. I used all sorts of balls, including Quick, Great, Heavy, Ultra and Dusk, but it always escaped. The average time for one battle was approximately 15~20 minutes, and the whole process took me about an hour or a bit less. I was starting to get annoyed in the last battle (because it took a long time), but then, when I threw an Ultra Ball at it, it was suddenly caught. I checked its nature, and I saw it was Timid. Therefore, I became very happy and forgot about the time and effort I spent I know I am not among the people who caught some legendary during the first or second turn, but at least my story is different than theirs. |

After failing to catch it 3 times, I faced Ho-Oh for the fourth time. As soon as the battle started, I threw an Ultra Ball without even laying any hit. Poof! Ho-Oh was caught! Am I not so happy?! What makes it even better, is that this Ho-Oh is Adamant, a perfect nature indeed!

I beat Red using no Pokemon above level 59. All thanks to a focus sash and Stealth Rock. And some skillz. 'Twas fun! Pokémon games are so much more fun when they're challenging.
@Freezewarp - I got a shiny Magikarp in Sapphire. Don't evolve it, since shiny Gyarados are now as common as Rattata. @RavenTheClaw - Dropping a Ho-Oh in one hit is BAD. Don't you want to catch it?! Last edited by Ningamer; April 28, 2010 at 08:27:18 AM. |

Heheh, probably my most lucky story while playing Soul Silver was fighting the champion. I created some odd strategy of having a dummy Pokemon (LUGIA) and about 20 revives to keep my Typhlosion through all of Lance's dragon Pokemon. The last 3 were tough as heck, I beat Lance and the Elite Four with just 5 HP (I ran out of potions long ago and relied on revives to give me half HP! D: ) on my first try. I'm the type of guy that only uses 1 or 2 Pokemon to beat the game, and if it wasn't for those revives I purchased...

When I was battling Red I was on Venusaur, his last Pokemon. Only Rotom was left and he was at Lvl. 67 with 14HP left. I used Thunder, for it had only 1PP remaining. It missed. Luckily, Venusaur used Sleep Powder and missed, and I used Struggle. It left me with 1HP and killed Venusaur! Victory!!! Last edited by RotomGuy; July 28, 2010 at 11:39:49 AM. |

Speaking of Pikachus and shiny Gyarados', I'm going to tell the story of why I tend to use non-Evolved Pokemon over earth-shattering OHKOing Ubers. *Ahem* So I got a Pikachu from the Yellow Forest route, and it was male. Then I decided to catch some random female Pikachu in Pt, send it to SS via the GTS, then get a Pichu to help complete the Pokedex. (Just remembered it was also for transferring the Spiky Eared Pichu via the GTS, but it failed because of its ribbon.) Then later in the story I got to the Shiny Gyarados in Lake Rage, and man, what a tough Pokemon to catch (I'm not as lucky as you guys catching Ho-Ohs with 2 Ultra Balls or something. ). So I looked through my PC boxes and found that the Pikachu from Pt had Thunder Wave and Thundershock, perfect for catching this guy. So after several resets (I forget why I reset so much...) I caught it with an Ultra Ball. That was the moment I saw that Pikachu's potential, that not just final Evoloutions can be useful in battle. (I wasn't going to evolve it, because I really don't need two Raichus, or two of the same Pokemon period.) And that's how I tend to use non-Evolved Pokemon. (That and I use under-Evolved Pokemon in my Flipnotes...) *Phew* I could've turned this into a novel with some major editing. Last edited by LucarioMario; November 11, 2010 at 10:19:51 AM. |

Well I decided to start my SS over and with my luck I got a shiny totodile on the first try! Then I set off on my journey and I came across a shiny Pidgy, then in Violet City I caught a shiny Mareep!! It's quite awesome if I don't say, three shinys right after another.

Well one of those 3 shiny pokemon I mentioned was a drowzee in HG. Found it while leveling up my dratini I had just gotten at the game corner. Only problem is that I had recently sold all my pokeballs to get stat boosters. So I had nothing.
I actually recorded it on video, and everything. Probably the longest wild pokemon battle I've ever been in where nothing happened. lol So close, yet so amazingly far. Probably the worst experience with that game ever... |

Alright so, I was off in Kanto, with my Absol as my front Pokemon, and I decided since I was in Cerulean, I might as well have gone to Cerulean Cave.
So I'm walking, walking, walking, and some surfing, then more walking. Still in the cave, I completely forgot that Mewtwo lurked at the "end" of the cave. So when I saw it I was pretty shocked, and I facepalmed for not remembering. And so I saved it, like always. Pressing A, I knew that catching it would take a while. But to a more surprise, Mewtwo was shiny. I was quite surprised, so I figured I'm just going to throw a Bunch of Ultra Balls at it, seeing as I didn't want to faint it accidentally. I eventually ran out of Ultra Balls, and I only had a single Pokeball in my bag left, I knew that the chances of catching this glorious gift would be near impossible, but thankfully Luck was on my side. I throw the ball, Button mash A like always, and caught it. Even more surprising, It's Modest! I was filled with happiness. And I made sure I saved the game. For some reason, I have reason to believe that my Absol's Ability, Super Luck, had to do with it. But I doubt it. Key to Success: BUTTON MASH A |
