I live in Arizona, so while you might think we were still in the dead heat during this hurricane, we actually had a few pretty good rainstorms like this last Friday, which is probably what was left of Irene. That's usually why we have monsoon season in late July and August.

Right, I see that now. In that case, there could have been some smaller storm that made its way over to Arizona by Friday. I actually skipped Geoscience in high school, so I'm actually pretty terrible at keeping up with weather. Science is one of my weaker subjects, really (and yet I'm really strong at math. Could I be more academically polar to A'bom?)

While the hurricane died out by the time it came all the way up here, my cousin, who's currently in college at SUNY New Paltz, was hit. Nothing too major, just some flooding. Apparently a few people there went kayaking in the streets.
