The noticeable difference is that, when played on an HDTV, standard definition content contains visual artifacts because its resolution is lower than that of the display and that, being a higher resolution, high definition video can show more detail than standard definition.
Even so, I thought the thread's title was "Blu-ray vs. DVD", not "Video that's stored on Blu-ray Discs vs. video that's stored on DVDs". |

Pie, video quality is one way to judge media quality.
Blu-Ray is much better, with it being able to store 50GBs of data on average, but the PS3 had a problem where the laser was so strong it burned itself out, and I'm not sure if that's been stopped yet. |

Blu-rays are nice for only HDTVs, but I only have 1 HDTV in my house (and it already has a DVD player built in). Also, I already have 500+ DVDs, so getting a Blu-ray player wouldn't be good for me.
However... the more space and the better resolution makes the Blu-ray better. |
