You're pretty much suggesting that donating makes you a mod without a colored name.
Donating is for those who have come to love the place they done to so much that even if they did donate, they would not expect special privileges and be fine with it. Privileges may encourage more people to donate but.. I don't really like that concept. |

MarioKartWii.com has a program like this.
The money gained from it is used to help support the site and stuff, but it's really become a mess. Being one who donated money to that, I was able to get on the VIP's private board, chat, and other things. What you paid wasn't worth the money. Do people act like their better with VIP? No Do people who can't pay feel like their left out? No. In fact, some say they wouldn't even want it for free. It's a good idea for certain sites, but I don't believe VR has a need for it. |

"a usertag" - Mods have thier mod usertag... "and the ability to make a custom user title" - I'm not sure anyone at all has that. And so basically you're saying that users who donate should be mods without powers or a colored name, yet are superior to normal users who have not donated. Basically in-between mods and users. |

Regardless I still oppose it and I hope it never becomes a reality, if I donate, I don't want anything in return, that's the purpose of donation. (Giving without the want for something in return) I like selflessness, I even like the concept, heck I would donate if I had the means to (which I don't at the moment). |

Jenova, if you look at JC's first post on this thread it has 11 likes, including the big man himself, Cat. I think you should not push this any more.
As JC said, selflessness.. It's an awesome thing. Sometimes selflessness will make people look up to you much more than if you had a benefit and were "better then them" and this is the same thing here. Just do what you can to help others and that will in turn benefit you even if it is not instant. Last edited by SK; January 3, 2011 at 06:53:49 PM. |
