Default W3Schools might not be the best choice for learners of web design

W3Schools offers certifications whose value is highly debateable… No employers recognize or respect W3Schools certificates. Unlike Microsoft’s MCP or Cisco’s CCC, W3Schools has absolutely no authority over the technologies for which they claim to provide certification. Unlike CompTIA’s ANSI/ISO accredited certifications, W3Schools has no support from governing standards bodies.

W3Schools frequently publishes inaccurate or misleading content. We have collected several examples illustrating this problem below.
It might be a good idea to consult a resource like the Mozilla Developer Network (MDN) instead. I have noticed that if something that is listed in W3Schools contradict what's on MDN, and almost all the time (all the time?), MDN is the right one. W3Schools in particular sometimes have spotty syntax, poor practices in code, and mislabelled support.

Of course, references are only assets and resources, after all. The only way you can be sure is to test out your site on what you want to support.
