I just beat Mario 2(USA), or rather its remake on GBA. It was a great experience. I get why people hate the ending, but honestly the game itself is actually quite good. I'd reccomend it to anyone to be perfectly honest. It is a bit tough, but you never feel that it's so unfair that you just want to quit(at least I never felt that way). But yeah, it was super fun, definitely worth checking into... and now all I have left is Sunshine and 3D World, and I will have completed pretty much all of the mainstream Mario games, even the portable ones. Gotta love Mario!

Today I put Brawl into my Wii U since I'm not doing the system transfer. Then I beat the Subspace Emissary, unlocked all characters, and unlocked all stages. That's just about as close to "completing" that game as I'm willing to get.
On the next episode, we 100% Mario Kart Wii again~! |

Just beat New Super Luigi U. Yes, before I beat New Super Mario Bros. U. NSLU just felt so much BETTER to me (And it was shorter cause of the 100 second thing and all.) I guess I'll at least try to finish NSMBU before January's up.

Just beat Jak 2.... UUUUGGGGHHHHHHHHH This game was rather... painful in a lot of aspects. :I I'm not completely hating on it, there's a lot of things about it that Naughty Dog did right in my opinion. For example, I love the atmosphere of the huge city, there are parts that keep true to the "Jak and Daxter" feel, and the control is generally good. And I was having a generally alright time before the final major portion of the game, even if it felt fairly linear. But in the last few hours of the game.... it was a pretty good struggle. It was just mission after mission of repetitive, not fun, and tedious missions. And the story's not anything to write home about either. It was kind of stupid in the first place, but as the game goes further on, the city just continues to become worse and worse, which doesn't help the mood. You get no sense of progression until the final 2 missions. :I Sorry, I just needed to rant about that. Can't wait for more of Jak 3, though, I'm liking what I've played so far.

Finished off the Jak and Daxter trilogy by beating Jak 3 yesterday. Fortunately, it was more of a balance between the city and more basic, laid back missions. It felt a bit short and thankfully wasn't difficult in the same way as Jak 2. Oh, and it had a much greater focus on vehicles as well. I think I like this one the most personally.

I beat Jet Set Radio this morning. The final boss battle was disappointingly easy, but still pretty spectacular anyway. I'm also glad that it lets you freely go back to Grind City; those stages were awesome, although I find myself repeatedly entering and exiting the stage trying to get Dragula to play.

Beat Runner 2, definitely a great game. All this does for me now is make me more inclined to get the Bit. Trip Saga on the eshop, though, which more than likely happen eventually. I definitely reccomend Runner 2, it's the best gaming experience(in terms of how I actually felt) I've had in a very long time.

Super Mario 3D World - It's simply amazing. It's loads of fun to play with friends, so much that I actually beat the game three times--twice each with different buddies and once alone. I haven't beaten it 100% yet, but I may wait some time for that.
Post-game content
Pokémon Rumble U - This game can be somewhat disappointing for someone who has extensively played Rumble Blast. First, the bad: the adventure is replaced with a small arena, four-player cooperative play is forced (using computers if you don't have enough players), the AI for those computers is pretty bad, the figure sorting is terrible, and there is no proper toy shop (it's a world instead) or other hub. On the other hand, the NFC is pretty neat, the challenges are quite fun to complete, the Master Capsule allows you to catch those Pokémon that gave you so much trouble (as long as you can still defeat them), and you can flatten the level of new toys (meaning all levels give mostly equal Pokémon in level) after beating the game. I just beat a Link Between Worlds as well. First, let me say that this is a fantastic game. I love top down Zelda. I really should play more of them. Anyway, it's really open, and you can go through it how YOU want. It's really fun and you should go buy it now. 10/10, will play again.

I beat NSMBU Friday and Super Mario Sunshine this morning. NSMBU was fun, I think I may decide to 100% it. Super Mario Sunshine... I FINALLY beat that for the first time ever XD It only took me 12 years! I managed to avoid spoiling Corona Mountain and all it's difficulty for all this time, so beating the game was actually a challenge for me. This is inspiring me to go back and try beating all those other games I deemed to hard as a child.

Antichamber (which is part of Humble Bundle 11 as a beat-the-average game), including all the moral signs. It genuinely is a fun puzzle game, but there are a few room that can be infuriating.

Myst: Masterpiece Edition. It's a fun little puzzler, and it works best if you take notes as you play. It has a weird story, but I focused a lot more on solving the puzzles.
Once you beat the game, you should be able to also find out how to speed-run it in about two minutes. Edit: I also beat the main "story" of Pokémon Battle Trozei, but that's the kind of game I don't consider beaten until I've reached 100%. I'm only at 49%. Pokémon Y. I finally got around to completing the entire National Pokédex after a long time; now that I have the Shiny Charm, well, let me have them Shiny Pokémon!
Divinity II: Flames of Vengeance. Nobody told me that that's practically a second game! There's just too many things to explore. It was a great ride along the story rails while it lasted. |

Far Cry 3, specifically story completion.
This is certainly a different kind of first-person shooter that it'd be more accurate to say that it's what happens when you take some parts FPS, some parts stealth-based game, some parts role-playing game, some parts open-world, and mix them. The game certainly has gotten its pace right, in my opinion. Also, the enemies are brutal, even at normal difficulty, even after you've maximized your health. Be glad that anything not a fall can never take you out in one hit, as long as your health indicator isn't "zero bars". As for the story, it's actually kind of... serious for a first-person shooter, and it actually goes a little bit... shall I say... meta?

Sleeping Dogs. Heh, an open world game with a completely different feel thanks to its settings and it being mostly melee fighting. Also, nice, if cliché storm story. It does feel weird knowing that I can understand everything without subtitles, though.

Finished the GBA version of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. Wasn't bad. Simple battle system, never terribly difficult. Blew through the story a little quickly . . . but then again, it's a video game based on a movie based on a book, I'm lucky they remembered to put the story in it at all.
(And yes, it is my life mission to play all versions of all of the first three Harry Potter games. CGN COS up next!) |

I just beat MOTHER 3! On the original cartridge the way it was meant to be played. Though it took me 4 days to relearn how to 16-hit combo with the correct framerate and many days memorizing kana so that I can properly use items in battle, I've finally done it! BEST FEELING EVER! And the ending was just as beautiful. Now I don't think I'll ever be able to go back to the fanslation... naaaah, yes I will. I love being able to read the emotional bits, but nothing compares to the experience of having the game in my hands for the first time. Oh well, now that I'm done with that, what am I gonna do? PLAY IT AGAIN OF COURSE. Hah, did you think I was gonna stop here? OF COURSE NOT! I'm playing through this again several more times in several different ways! NYAHAHAHA!! Also, I beat Metroid Fusion the other day. It was nice. |

And now I just beat Super Metroid and EarthBound. I've been playing a lot of Mother and Metroid
Yes, I know I got 95%, I was just missing a few missile expansions. I was using a guide and didn't feel like following it that carefully and getting a 100% that way felt sorta dirty. Now that I know what Metroid games really feel like, I'm gonna try doing them without guides (unless I really, really need it.) Metroid: Zero Mission, you're next! EarthBound... the first game I ever bought for the Wii U... I finally freakin' beat it. Took me long enough? Well those damn 1/128 items were kicking my ass, and eventually I gave up after I realize every character was level 90. Getting those items isn't worth becoming unnecessarily OP. At least I got the Sword of Kings and the Gaia Beam. Anyway, beating it on a TV one of the best experiences ever. This time I'm sure I can't return to the way I used to do it. I might even start saving up for one of those thousand-dollar carts. The Giygas battle at the end was five times more powerful when being played from my sound system, scaring me even more than when I first played the game. I almost started crying from how much I loved it. And after that was over, well... I couldn't help myself. All in good fun! |

1/128 items are the worst. I said screw it after I got the Sword of Kings. I got a super lucky Gutsy Bat however. As for me, I've been playing a lot of Skyrim, and I've done just about everything I can in Harvest Moon Friends of Mineral Town

Final Fantasy VIII.
Has it really been over a decade since I first played that game? Whoa. Either way, I finally finished my unfinished business... on a new game... on the PC. (This is probably one of these games where people should really play to completion at least once, if only for the story. You'd be surprised what you'd learn when all's said and done.) Also, Eyes On Me is awesome. Last edited by Twiggy; August 4, 2014 at 06:14:50 AM. |

Finished this little RPG Maker game called "Wadanohara and the Great Blue Seas" just now. Story was decent, but the gameplay was a little dry.

Finished the in-game part of Game Dev Tycoon just now. Was very good. I might go around trying to get all of the achievements, too, but that could take a while.
Here's a review and my final scores of my first successful playthrough.

Edit: Forgot to mention, I also played this little Indie game called "Another Perspective." It's a short little game that was made with Game Maker, the same thing I use. Nothing Earth-shattering, but it was a nice little game with a nice atmosphere and some interesting writing, if you want to call it that. Last edited by Dragonite; August 10, 2014 at 02:22:48 PM. |

I've been sitting on Level 5-4 of Plants vs. Zombies for the DS all summer, and I finally got it in my head to go and finish it off. Now I'm going to be a nerd and see if I can get all of the achievements, minigames, etc.
Also finished off the normal part of Super Mario 3D Land with all of the Star Medals and top of the flag poles. There's still the Special World but I think I'll put that off a couple months. Or years. |

Making use of Origin Game Time, I finished the Battlefield 4 campaign and spent some time on multiplayer. For some reason, I guess I didn't really like how big the battlefields are. (Yeah, then again, it's in the name...) (I preferred more closed-in style of Hardline beta.)
Also, that's a really short campaign...finished in 6 hours over two days. Doesn't really hold a candle to BF3. Not buying. |

Wario Land 2, for GBC, on the 3DS Virtual Console. I've beaten this game once before on the original Game Boy (not Color) cartridge, but I've forgotten how incredibly frustrating it can be, especially when a single hit from bosses in the incorrect manner can force you to start the fights over. Also, I hate the zombie and flattening curses. The first is too slow, and the second is too hard to control.

Recently played ("played?") this little narrative called "A Bird Story," a short, 1-hour RPG Maker animation about a kid who found an injured bird.
It was strangely really nice, there wasn't a whole lot to it but was pretty cool nevertheless. (I also have "To The Moon," the other title by the same people, sitting around somewhere that I'll probably burn through one of these days.) |

Finished the final boss in New Super Mario Bros. 2 a little while ago. I think that's the most straightforward ending to a Mario game I've seen since Galaxy 2, though the animations at the end were ridiculously long.

Just now finished this rather obscure (and honestly really not very good) game known as One Piece: Romance Dawn.
Combat was actually really good, but a lot of the fights dragged on way longer than they needed to, the "story" was basically twenty-minute sessions of scans from the manga and it skipped the entire Sky Island arc. Thirty hours of my life I'm not getting back, oh well. |

It's been a long while since I've beaten a game. The most recent one is... Hotel Dusk: Room 215. It's a visual novel type of game on the NDS. Ending was kinda disappointing, but it was nice. Great game though, I loved every second of it, even it if was kinda far fetched and ridiculous.

I finally, after FIVE AND A HALF YEARS, have beaten the Pokémon League in HeartGold, making it the first English-language completion of HgSs.
So, let's look at that team... inb4sparky the Raikou was somehow obtained on March 27, 2000. I think I goofed up when setting the clock on my DS and put 2000 instead of 2010. Lite (remember him?) the Togetic was obtained on March 14, 2010. Zorlosion the Typhlosion was also obtained on March 14, 2010. Ho-Oh was obtained July 15, 2011. Celebi was obtained from an event on July 9, 2011. (Shiny) Suicune was obtained from an event on February 23, 2011. Judging by the contents of the PC being named after various VR members who were around in 2010 (and a Lapras named "Friday!" and a few others dated 2000), it's clear that most of this playthrough was five years ago, and I only just got to completing it. I specifically remember having a hard time with Ho-Oh. I don't even have Lugia yet, so I must've skipped that due to the trouble I had with the required bird. I think it was the Elite Four that gave me a lot of trouble, because when I loaded the game up, I was in front of the Champion, whose defeat was by luck of paralysis not kicking in. Lance's three Dragonites can go freeze in the Seafoam Islands. Last edited by Cat333Pokémon; August 18, 2015 at 12:33:00 AM. |

And to add to the above, I have finally completed a game that was among those that defined my childhood, played many times with some friends before I even had my own game consoles. That game, which I obtained myself twelve years ago, is Donkey Kong 64. I attained 101%, collecting every single golden banana, regular banana, fairy, blueprint, medal, and crown. (The only thing I didn't bother with is the coins, but because even touching the built-in cheats corrupts your coin counter, I didn't bother.)

Finished Pokémon Platinum for the first time in quite a while. Was easier than I remembered it being, although I had to item spam a little when Cynthia came around. But I think I'm allowed to do that when most of my team is fourteen or fifteen levels weaker than her ace.
Oh yeah, and this is the first time I've actually used Garchomp in a Sinnoh game. That thing is perposterously good. Last edited by Dragonite; June 21, 2016 at 09:49:11 PM. |
