I've posted here before, but I've decided to change my team for White.
Pre-National Dex Team Post-National Dex Team I don't really care if the Pokemon I chose are n00bz. I'm not into that competitive stuff like IV's and EV's. Too much effort. e.e I'll find a way to go through the game with them, trust me. |

I'm trying to plan my next run with Black. My current idea for a team is:
Emboar Eelektross Escavalier Jellicent Archeops ??? I can't decide who my last spot should go to. Right now I'm debating between Stoutland, Sawsbuck and Druddigon although I'm open to other options. Thoughts anyone? EDIT: I'm also considering Simisage. I just realized a glaring weakness in my team, that being that I won't have a permanent team member until after 3 badges (Archen). So I need something that comes early on (Preferably between gyms 1 and 2) and can be a permanent team member as opposed to being useless later on. I'm catching every wild Pokemon in each area and training it to the level of the rest of my team. That way, instead of having a set team, I can rotate between any Pokemon I have in my reserves to create new teams
It reminds me a bit of Gary and how he caught over 200 Pokemon really easily. That, and N because of how awesomely he goes about choosing Pokemon. EDIT:I guess I'll post my "team" via occasional edits to this post. So far, my team consists of Dewott, Herdier, Watchog, Liepard, Pansear, Munna, Pidove, Blitzle, Timburr, Tympole Throh, Audino, Sawk, Petilil, Sewaddle, Venipede, and Panpour (I'm training them all at once, though as a result my progress is slowed, but in a way it'll let me enjoy the games over a longer period of time anyway. I thought it may be way too much work, but luckily most of the Pokemon I catch first appear at a level near my team's, so they're easy to level up) Last edited by AuraKshatriya; March 15, 2011 at 01:00:40 AM. |

This is my party right now. I'm planning on getting a Fire type, but I don't know how soon that'll happen. I just beat Castelia's Gym and my Pokémon are a little under leveled due to type advantage. I've just been destroying gyms based on type...I don't know, give it a look:
Blitzle Lv.17 Purrloin Lv.17 Panpour Lv.17 Sawk (nicknamed Spawk) Lv.19 Servine Lv.20 Tranquill Lv.22 I think I'm going to ditch my Purrloin once I catch a Fire type. I like to have a pretty easy party: The three primary types (G/F/W), a Flying type, an Electric type and a Wild card. My wild card in this case is my Sawk. Can anyone tell me how soon I'll run into a fire type? |

Bare in mind that in the Elite four a dark Pokemon is very handy, Dark, fighting and flying are very useful to take out the Elite four. Also Darumaka on route 4 is a fire beast. Make sure you pick him up for your fire Pokemon. Also here is my team, beaten Elite Four now just trying to level up for the new areas, it's a big jump from 50-55ish to 60-65. lol

Lancelot, the Serperior Amoeboss, the Duosion Zaprantula, the Joltik Lagann, the Drilbur (lol stealing Lite's idea) and The Rev, the Gigalith. The sixth member is as of yet undecided, but I'm in desperate need of a Fire-type or something. |

Okay so right now I have Emboar, Munna, Golduck (HM Slave), Reshiram, Pawniard, and Haxorus.
My only plans are to evolve Pawniard and then fix up some movesets, specifically Munna and Emboar. Might use a couple of these dues competitively but I'll do a whole different team with specific EVs eventually. |

Well, statistically you're best bet would be Darmanitan, which you can either battle as a stationary encounter in the Desort Resort, or evolve a Darumaka for (they're found in the sand on Route 4). If you're playing Pokemon Black, Reshiram will be great, though you'll get it a bit late. Quote:

Serperior Seismitoad or Carracosta Galvantula Chandelure Haxorus Swoobat Samurott Chandelure Galvantuna Haxorus Swoobat Leavanny or Ferrothorn Emboar Galvantula Golurk Haxorus Swoobat Leavanny or Ferrothorn I can't decide which to use ;_; |

And I'm aware they're not found very early, but I've been in a lot of situations where my ideal members aren't found very early, and I always manage to make do. I'll have at least a team of 3 early on (Starter, Swoobat/Musharna, and possibly Leavanny) and that's enough for me until I get to where I need. I tend to overlevel a lot as well, so it won't hurt me that much. |

Victini Searing Shot/Flare Blitz Psychic/Zen Headbutt Thunder Shadow Ball And also I won a Leafeon from the brick breaker thing on Pokemon.com, so I'm going to put it's moveset here as well. Leafeon Leaf Blade Swords Dance Synthesis X-scissor *sigh* Pokemon White is so awesome. |

Don't you think that having two Pokémon of the same type is a bit unnecessary. You can replace one of them with a type you still don't have. What is the point of having two fights or two fires? You don't even have water, which is not advisable, since water is a great offensive type. I suggest to substitute some of your members with other types you need to cover.

I need a critique on my current planned team for Black. I'm getting ready to fight the league.
Timid Serperior Leaf Storm - powerful STAB attack Gastro Acid - eliminates annoying abilities like Cofagrius's Mummy Giga Drain - STAB grass-type plus healing Dragon Tail - dragon-type plus forced switchout of the opponent Brave Emboar Heat Crash - STAB fire-type, plus strong against lighter opponents Grass Knot - grass-type, plus strong against heavier opponents Brick Break - decent fight-type move that can break barriers Scald - water-type move that can cause an attack-lowering Burn Brave Luxray Wild Charge - very powerful STAB electric attack Crunch - dark-type attack Volt Switch - STAB electric-type plus switchout Ice Fang - ice-type attack to take advantage of Luxray's high ATK stat Calm Gothitelle Heal Block - Mainly for trainer battles. Blocks those annoying Hyper Potions Psychic - strong STAB psychic-type Trick Room - meant to augment Gigalith Shadow Ball - ghost-type attack Adamant Gigalith Stone Edge - powerful STAB rock-type attack with a high critical-rate chance Explosion - overly-powerful move altogether. Earthquake - ground-type move Rock Polish - Greatly speeds up Gigalith in case Trick Room fails Modest Zoroark Night Daze - power STAB dark-type attack with chance of lowering accuracy Extrasensory - psychic-type move Nasty Plot - boosts Zoroark's already high S.ATK stat Flamethrower - fire-type move I'm trying to go for type-coverage, which this team does. Switched Swanna for Zoroark, but gonna train Swanee for convenient travel. EDIT: The Luxray's a DW Luxray btw, so it can have Guts, Intimidate or Rivalry EDIT2: Thanks A'bom for your input Last edited by Shade; May 11, 2011 at 04:38:39 AM. |

Well, I've been thinking for a while and I've decided that I wanna be a Dark-type user. I'm still gonna be using my original party, but when I battle others, I'm gonna use my Battle box which is full of Dark-types, such as:
Zoroark Hydreigon Weavile Houndoom Mightyena and Bisharp. What do you think? Tell me if I should replace any... THE REPLACEMENT MUST BE DARK, PLEASE. |

Anyway, if you're looking to make a competitively viable dark team, I recommend you use: 1. Hydreigon: Great Dragon Attacker. A definite must. 2. Tyranitar: Another good dark attacker, but you may not want to have sandstorm up, in which case don't use him. 3. Mandibuzz: Is neutral to the two Dark Weaknesses, and is pretty defensive. Also good if you use Tyranitar, because it has Dustproof. 4. Drapion: Again, resists Dark weaknesses. It's very important if you don't want this team swept by one pokemon. 5. Spiritomb: Fighting immunity, so very good to have as a switch in. * Sableye: One, cause he's awesome. Two, he's got a fighting immunity. Three, once his Dream World ability comes out, he'll actually be useful. Probably don't want to add him until then, though, just use Spiritomb. 6. Scrafty: Good Bulk up user, defensive but strong. Alternates: Zoroark: Good attacker, fun with mind games, but there's nothing you can really pair him with, since he resists the same things everyone else does. Weavile: He's a cool fast lead, but gets killed easily and doesn't have a wide enough movepool. Houndoom: You can certainly work with him as a special attacker, but it might be difficult to keep him alive. Krookodile: Awesome attacker with several options. Honchkrow: Because he's an awesome mafia crow is resists dark weaknesses. Bisharp: Good steel typing, but very weak to fighting. Last edited by Sableyed; June 5, 2011 at 08:28:05 AM. |

I think I'm gonna make a serpent team. I've been thinking about a chess based team, a final fantasy team. but since I'm too lazy to do any of them, I think I might just do a quick sepent team. Besides, I was wondering how good an Eviolite Dragonair would do. I would share my team, but if I did, I'd have to kill you afterwards. Be lucky I gave you the Eviolite dragonair leak.
Edit: but seriously, made a lunar based team. It is my team of choice. If you want to know more about it, you must battle me. Last edited by Nytz; July 20, 2011 at 12:37:06 PM. |

Back story
That aside, the first time I played through White, I used a team of Pokémon I had transfered from Gen IV + my starter. That would be Serperior, Charizard, Milotic, Mightyena, Linoone and Zapdos. (Additional information: I got this Milotic by fishing at Mt. Coronet in Platinum, yaiye.) Part of the reason why I wanted to restart White was so I could use the fire-type starter in all of my games. My planned team is now Emboar, Simisage, Carracosta, Eelektross, Unfezant and Haxorus. (And this makes me notice that I have Simisage, Unfezant and Haxorus in my team, which were the three Pokémon available from the secret egg event.) Samurott: surf, swords dance, aqua jet, retaliate Leavanny: bug bite, leaf blade, swords dance, and the last attack will switch between shadowclaw and x-scissor in need Sigilyph: psychic, air slash, miracle eye, fly Excadrill: earthquake, sandstorm, swords dance, rockslide Sawk: brick break, double team, bulk up, retaliate Darmanitan, fire punch, work up, headbutt, flare blitz or hammer arm, haven't decided. This is for my white play through, but will probably make changes when I can start battling online (: Any opinions/suggestns ? :b |
