Default How to make a tutorial that won't make you look like an idiot.

Hinorashi and I decided to make this because we've seen too many bad tutorials that don't teach anything. The various images are references to them.

Good example of a tutorial: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XmwJanKJuDk

Because they're too busy making bad tutorials instead.

The bad tutorials are like watching a "video game review" and instead getting a 3-hour blind let's play, complete with a 15-minute snack break with the game on pause.

And to think that it's not just drawing tutorials that are bad and/or hard/boring to to follow along with... and learning from them? Hah! In your dreams! But I'm happy that you put together this guide for guides, as silly as that may sound it's actually something that has apparently been needed for a while. We've been taking "lessons" from people who are just ripping off of other tuts that were never good to begin with. I've seen bad tuts in art but most of all music-related ones. The good tutorials are the short and straight to the point guides that also explain what they're doing and most importantly, WHY, as they are showing it either with images or video.
