Pokémon X and Y in October 2013
Just now, on Pokémon Direct, after running through a brief history of the classic games and mention of the delay of internationalization, Pokémon X and Pokémon Y will be released in October 2013!
These games will take advantage of the Nintendo 3DS console capabilities and be in full 3D! There will be some new Pokémon introduced, including the new starters: Chespin (a chestnut), Fennekin (a fox), and Froakie (a frog). Heh, X and Y. The only thing that reminds me of is chromosomes. This is one of the first times in a while since I've felt less affection for the Grass starter. Fennekin sure does look nice~
The graphics already look like a major step up and it reminds a lot of... like what Orre looked like in XD. October everywhere~ |

The starters...bleh, not bad but not awesome. We'll have to wait until the games come out to see how good they battle. But as for the overall designs, I'm not that much of a fan.
To me, Chespin sorta looks like a brown pachirisu with green leaves on it's head... Last edited by Cyrus; January 8, 2013 at 02:23:06 AM. |

I really like the Fire starter. It's a lynx ^~^ I also could've sworn the Fire type starter using a Psychic move in the video, so it might have a Fire/Psychic evolution....and it finally looks like we won't have a Fire/Fighting starter this time!

Love the fact that they're using cell shaded animation I was actually hoping they would.
The theme for the starters seems to be distinctiveness this time around hopefully this will mean unique type combinations for there evolutions. Last edited by Magmaster12; January 8, 2013 at 02:28:12 AM. |

Guess this is the first time I'll go with the Fire-type starter from the get-go. Oh, and have I reminded you that it looks like what if BW were never made for the DS and went for the 3DS instead? It looks like the part.
Generation V had an incredibly short run, though. Last edited by Twiggy; January 8, 2013 at 02:27:51 AM. |

It seems to me the water type starter will be the least liked and the least used. (unless it's base stats fair better than the other starter options)
Seriously, why another frog pokemon? We already have poliwag's evo line. I know that since there are a lot of water pokemon, creativity at this point is hard, but still... Last edited by Cyrus; January 8, 2013 at 02:37:05 AM. |

Also, seems like I must get every Grass-type, so Chespin's going to be mine in the end. :3 |

This is something minor I noticed when looking more closely at the video, but this legendary Pokemon has an "X" on his eye.
It makes me wonder how the legendary Pokemon's eyes will affect their special abilities. Also, the remake for these games will be Pokemon Z. I'm calling it. Last edited by Cat333Pokémon; January 8, 2013 at 02:59:46 AM. |

I'm mostly really glad that we're going to be getting the game at approximately the same time as Japan--and that "we" refers to anywhere that normally gets the games, as I know we mostly cater to Americans and Britons.
Speaking of which, it looks like one of my previous hopes will be true: not having to worry about that phase of using the Japanese names prior to the English release. That also means no worrying about importing a region-locked game. |

Holy freakin Arceus, that was awesome! I think I need to change my pants now....
(Also it's only been out for less then 3 hours and there are already three pages of this and multiple topics? Man you guys work fast, and most of us are still asleep.) |

Yet again the trainers sizes have increased! As for the new Pokes, I don't really like the look of the new ones released so far but the design of the Pokemon world looks very sexy if I may say, I hope the eventual Ruby and Sapphire remakes will be designed like this.

Well, I'm going to be blunt and say I'm laughing at anyone who so soooooo sure they knewwww it'd be RSE Remakes. I did want those, but I didn't think they'd be so soon after the previous HGSS remakes (plus All the other remakes skipped ahead at least one generation or system). I am a little disappointed it wasn't a spin-off game, honestly (yes, a new Pinball game would've been awesome actually, PRS~). I personally think that Generation 6 has come way too fast.... heck, I've not even learned all the Generation 5 Pokemon names. xP The starters... are.... meh. The Lynx is going to be overatted I know, since it looks like a fox. But I'll wait to see what they all evolve into before I decide, I think Chespin looks ugly though so I won't be choosing him for sure. >w<;; (My opinion though peoples~ I know a lot of people like this Pokemon, and that's good! For them). Anyways... I don't like the Deer Pokemon but that Avian! AHH! He's now only seconded by Lugia in my top favorites list. He's freaking... utterly... adorable~! <3 This game makes me think it's slightly based off of Paris. Kinda like BW was slightly based off the USA. Members from Gamefreak were in France recently I believe from a few tweets on twitter. So that's interesting.
Also, the Deer legendary has an X for a pupil in it's eye (zoom in on that sucker). I assume there is a Y in the Avian's eyeball too. Last edited by LugiaDialga; January 8, 2013 at 11:27:36 AM. |

Good thing I was getting a 3DS this week. I'm just surprised it was announced so early, but hey, the best thing this time is that we're getting it the same time as the rest of the world. How d'you like them apples, Japan?
Also, I'm probably Captain Slowpoke here but the reason its called X and Y is because of the 3 axis in a three dimensional plane. So for a 3DS title, its pretty clever. |

I... really don't know how to react to this as of yet. Personally, I think it was a little too soon, but it's possible they were working on these games from before Black and White 2 came out, which would explain how they already have constructed battle scenes, towns, 3D models, etc. Sure, I'll be reserving it, but... I don't know yet how my opinion falls on this. |

Generation 6 was the one announcement I didn't see coming from Game Freak. Black and White seem so recent, but I'm certainly not complaining about the news! Unless the final evolutions of the starters change my mind drastically, then I'll be going for a Fire-type starter for the first time ever. Far more important, though, is the question of whether or not the Abra line will be in this game's regional Pokedex...

Anyway, I am so surprise that Nintendo announce the new Pokemon games so soon. I don't even know all the 5th generation names. I like the graphics though, but I don't know my opinion to Pokemon X and Y yet. |

Now, I'm just the peanut gallery here, but does anyone else notice that Fennekin has giant tufts of fur coming out of its ear-holes?
And also, if I'm not mistaken, Froakie is the first frog pokemon. All the other ones were actually Toads. It's TOADally different. |
