There is one. It's under Community. I do think you're right that it needs to be a top-level one.

Edit: Done.

Is there a way to view the chat room on say a PS3 system or any gaming system? I tryed once but i couldt see the text or the side options. Also how do you evolve pets that need stones or trades?

You can use the Lite Mode on VRIM:
http://vrim.victoryroad.net/lite/

As for pets, they all evolve with clicks now. To see how many clicks a pet takes, choose the option to change its evolution line (My Pets > tick the ones you're curious about > Bulk Options > Change Evolution Line).

Do you think it would be possible to add a mute function to the chat so that way I don't have to deal with annoying people?

Oh, I see. I'm not going to say much on the status of VRIM for now, because I'm unsure what's happening with it (fixing it, making a new one, installing a different system).

I say there should be a sub-forum in the Fan Fiction and Literature section that's about Pokemon fan fics where other forms of literature can go in the general part in Fan Fiction and Literature.

Oh yes, and one more thing. While I don't think this will go through, I think there should be backup gym leaders in case the normal leader is busy or is unable to accept challenges. I could see why this wouldn't be approved (due to a lack of active people), but it should be taken into consideration.

The Art board's current set up is fine as is.
No need to add another sub-forum just for Pokemon Fanfics. It's not like the Pokemon ones will become corrupt if they touch non-Pokemon fics.

I was just hoping for a bit of organization in the Fan Fic and Literature section. It seems a little unorganized with people like me constantly updating fics and others who are trying to post other forms of literature all jumbled up into one section.

Hm, how would you suggest the structure of the new board should be?

Example:

Example Board
- Example Sub-Board 1
- - Example Sub-Sub-Board
- Example Sub-Board 2

Actually yes, something like that. If it's too much hassle for a small change like that, then don't bother with it.

Oh ok. Something like this:

Artwork, Music, Fan-Fiction

-Fan Fiction and Literature (Literature would go here)

-Fan Fictions (Self explanatory)

-Everything else

But like I said, if it's too much hassle for a small change, then don't bother with this change.

In some images, when you click them, they act as a link.

I think it goes like this:

[/img] My signature actually has what you are talking about, and all adopts work like this.

Can the text visibility issues in the Dark Illusionist forum style be fixed? When clicking on shortcut bar menus like Quick Links, or the Previous Thread/Next Thread links at the bottom of the thread, or the current time, or Theme by... at the very end of the page... well, dark red on another dark colour doesn't exactly work well. They blend!

The only way I think that could be fixed would be to make the text a lighter shade of red. Either that or make the background lighter, but I don't think that would make the theme look nice.

I actually went into paint and copy the background color and text color of the quick links and other blended text. I then adjusted the text color and put it on the background color to see what it would be like.

It's in the image below. I don't know if you like it or not, or if this would be possible, but this is just a suggestion to fix the text color problem.

Well, I've noticed that there's no forum/board/whatchacallit for Groups.
I mean, almost every forum have them, even if it's not divided in Pokemon and not, it'd be a great addition,as it allows people to unite themselves to talk about what they like, for example if there was a MLP fanclub, the fans here would have more place to discuss, there could be contests, etc. While a thread in Media won't do the same ...

We do have something like that here, but it's generally ignored and nobody as far as I know actively posts in a group. Which is a shame, really.

How about a few Christmas events, like a Drawing Competition or a drawing one, maybe a poetry/drabble one too?
Those are fun and everybody is doing them this time of the year

I'm just wondering if there should be more levels of the Forum. Having just Moderators so the assistant mods get promoted to one then they get promoted to Global Moderator. Just a thought. I know it might take a bit of work but I think it would be a great idea.

EDIT: Or Assistant Staff.

Well, I was speaking more of other events, but whatever pleases you. Only need the h-staff word

And @Squirtle I also support the change of ranks (Mod,S/G-Mod,Asst.Adm,Admin,etc.) but there is a reason they picked those ranks, so I don't really know ...

I believe we had something like this before, but over time we got rid of it (for a reason I do not know). I think the system we have now is working just fine, more staff levels could just make things a lot more complicated. I mean, the reason why we have assistant mods. are to divide the power of global mods. into smaller sections on the forum so the global mods. aren't doing most of the work maintaining order on the forum, so I don't think adding another staff level is completely necessary.

A suggestion for a clan board? The only clan I have heard of from here is Team Lunacy (I'm the new Leader ^-^) but it's.. slow. Anyways, I'd like to see more competition and it might create more activity to our clan and many others'. I just hope there is a limit to how many clans are being built because... We don't want everyone having their own clan, right? Thanks :]

Perhaps we could have a Legend of Zelda theme to the forum. I'm tired of the default theme and I don't particularly like the other themes. It may seem strange to add a LoZ theme to a Pokemon forum, but it makes more sense than the MLP theme we have.

Personally I would like a Sonic the Hedgehog theme. I'm sure there's plenty of Sonic fans out there that conquer with me on this one.

EDIT: Also could we get rid of all the tournaments and start new ones. Most of the tournaments are started by old non-active members. It would be better if we started fresh.

I wonder whether it's possible to make it so that in addition to the current user rank for posts for users, users can also use any previous user rank titles and icons.

Think of it being "which one is better" is a pretty subjective thing. If that's implemented, well, I think things would get a little bit more unique, huh? That'd also allow someone to set a gained favourite as the "user rank icon/title".

Unfortunately, no. Enabling that requires enabling all custom tags, and two of those custom tags are a big dangerous to put on profiles: YouTube and DIV.

Elaborating on this, I really think that there should be a word minimum per post in a roleplay. I've noticed that most posts in the RP section...are sub-par to say the least. Serebii has a 200 word minimum in their RPs, and it does a darn good job of keeping spammers away. If you're mature enough to roleplay, you should be mature enough to post 200 words.

I have left post counting enabled on the RP board because the posts in them are contributory content.

That is reasonable, but my standards aren't exactly the greatest when it comes to post quality. I tend to let a lot of things go as long as they aren't being disruptive.

I turned this feature off as soon as I setup the forum because I had learned a little bit from other vBulletin Pokémon forums. I don't exactly want to see a lot of profiles in Comic Sans with a yellow background and red text with and annoying repeating animated GIF as a background.

How about if we did something like this if members dont follow the rules or this will happen:

This will make people think twice if they dont follow the rules.

Posting animated gifs of people getting slapped? Yeah that'll definitely teach them and discourage spam.

Serious suggestions only, please.

Now I have begun to wonder how a certain Pokémon forum that I visit had Comic Sans MS deliberately disabled.

They'd probably be more likely put put that GIF in their background.

For now, I suggest either the official vBulletin demo or downloading the pages and adjusting the CSS, then showing it to me.

http://www.debugtheweb.com/fiddler2/

I believe that this tool can also be used to intercept the usual requests for the forum style's CSS and load your own. Hmm...

One of the best things that Firebug has is real-time error-checking and validation. Always seeing the results in real-time - It's a nice work in working in a style.

I have a style WIP, so I wonder how I'm going to make it ready for prime time. I think that the style mostly works, but there might be a few kinks here and there.

Just need to get it checked by Cat.

Oh, and I have a suggestion for the forums:

There seems to be a lot of stuff in the shortcut bar. I wonder whether we can replace VRIM/Chat and Adopt into a drop-down, and also add Floatzel.Net Home Page to it?

If we could have the top battlers make an Elite 4. Only for members who get all 8 badges.

That should go in the Gym League Support Thread. Plus, I'm sure that many of the battlers had talked about an Elite 4 and decided there's not enough participation for 8 leaders and an Elite 4.

Most of the other features are under "Community."

Yes but when was the last time they "talked about" an Elite 4? There is plenty of new battlers here. Some great ones too.

Well then. I was hoping the Arcade tournaments could be reset. Most of the people who hosted them are not active anymore. We need to win some tournaments!

As there were no active tournaments from the last few months, I've closed all active tournaments. Wow, a lot of those were from 2010.

No, I haven't messed with the arcade, well, ever. Freeze always updated that, and it requires some free account with the publisher of the games.

Hmm... I do believe that some forums could use a more descriptive description. Some of the descriptions, such as the one for the Web Design forum, are pretty much letter soups.

If you're referring to profile CSS, it was disabled as soon as I setup the forum due to abuse, annoying fonts, and terrible color contrast.

I wonder whether there exists an add-on that makes it so that profile styling is done based on preexisting forum styles. That seems to be a bit of a tall order, though. I think I'm just thinking about it.

That already exists. The and [youtubewide] tags allow embedding YouTube videos directly within a post. Be sure to only put the video ID in the tag and not the full URL.

Can we use thread categorization in every thread in Computers and Technology? I find that sometimes it's probably easier if we had categorization enabled on these threads. I think properly categorizing everything in there by way of thread categorization could work out in the end, and as there's not many threads in there, might as well, huh?

I'm thinking of something like...

For example, in Web Design, I could give the resources thread a "General" category, and the thread about how vendor prefixes in CSS have become in a "CSS" category, and so on...

Also, I think every single forum in Computers and Technology inclusive needs a better description.

I'm thinking of something like...

Instead of "For all things computers", we could have:
"Whether it's about desktops, laptops, netbooks, software, smartphones, routers, cars, or anything in between, everything related to computers and technology is welcome!" to make the "technology" part true.

Instead of "Any form of programming", we could have:
"Basic, C++, C#, Java, Python, .NET, what have you, newcomers and experts alike are welcome to discuss about programming here!"

Instead of "HTML, XML, CSS, PHP, ASP (.NET), MySQL, SVG, MathML, SOAP, SMIL, OWL, XHTML, JavaScript, RDF, CDF, DOM, and more", we could have:
"Everything powering the web and its sites: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other neat assorted goodies related to them. Web developers can come in here for tips and discussions on web design."

Any other suggestions for the descriptions?

I could update the descriptions, but I don't think the board yet needs new sub-boards. We used to have a lot more categories in that section, but there hasn't been much activity.

Not quite like that. Something like Serious in these discussion forums - something that is appended to the front of thread titles.

VRIM is working just fine (despite the poor code from a former admin). Just click on the "VRIM/Chat" link right next to "User CP" near the top of your page.

Just a thought for a big thing:

I think it would be fabulous if we were told or something whenever someone liked our posts. Like under the notifications it will appear (like were you are told that you have a VM) and then the tab saying "Likes and Quotes" is in bold and when you click it, it was say the post and give a link. I think it would be GREAT! But it seems a little impossible.

Ps. I put quotes in there too because that would also be nice to have.

A new member title "Member of the Month" also known as "MoM" This would be awarded to a new member every first day of the month. It would be given by our very own Cat, to a member who he thinks has been a excellent contribution for the month to the community with a lot of activity. This title would have its own color. Something bright to notice someone's awesomeness.

I forgot that saying that my dad always told me whenever I had a competition that I didn't want to do...

Competition breeds desire to become a better person, or something like that. Haha if members are interested, I think it could stop people from spamming, and learn to become a better forum member by looking up to those who have earned the title

Could it be possible to have trophies or ribbons under your username for winning a tournament, like badges? It would be a nice perk in addition to the bragging rights involved with winning one.
