I loved Crystal. Red was my first Pokemon game, but Crystal will always hold a place in my heart as my favorite Pokemon game. The Pokemon sprite animations are still better then the animations we see in today's games (in my opinion of course,) and Oak finally realized that his little Pokedex helpers didn't always have to be little prepubescent boys.
EDIT: Or perhaps Professor Elm was very strong about allowing girls to help Oak, and his traditional views on adventure. XD Last edited by Bread; March 14, 2010 at 02:40:24 PM. |

Yellow isn't just my favorite for nostalgia. It's my favorite because it began my entire gaming career.
Despite that, I haven't come across any Pokemon posters to add to my ever expanding collection of other miscellaneous Nintendo posters that I have tacked to my walls. Oh, Nintendo Power. Why. Whyyy. Seriously though. Yellow was great. It was the penultimate game of the RBY trilogy (in truth, the RBGY quadrilogy), it had easter eggs from the anime (the Team Rocket trio of Jesse, James, and Meowth, Pikachu following you, Red's slight redesign to look a little bit more like Ash, Pikachu's modified cry, the fact your Pikachu refused to evolve... etcetera...), and just the fact that it was a plain old Pokemon game, with the classic formula of "Gotta catch 'em all!" and the player's drive to be a Pokemon master. Yellow is easily one of the- if not THE- games that I've spent the most time on in my entire life. And I STILL HAVE YET TO CATCH MEWTWO IN IT. I'll be back in a bit, guys, cowering in shame. |

Crystal was wonderful. It had everything I would have wanted at that point from the games. Stuff now taken for granted like a legendary story that involves the character and their custom music, aswell as ability to travel back to Kanto won me over.

Being born in 1996, I wasn't introduced to Pokemon until around 2001, when I watched a whole bunch of episodes and watched the first two movies. But I figure that's old enough! But I was a late upbringer into the games.
My favorite game was the one I grew up with in elementary school, into middle, and soon high school, Pokemon Ruby. Loved that game, still have it! Sure, the internal battery's dried up now, but I play that game still! |

Silver, definitely.
So many reasons why... They're mostly listed in my Introduction to the forum. Foremost reason is being introduced to Terrorgatr, my lifetime PokePartner. :3 But also because I sort of consider Ecruteak my hometown. n.n I just love it so much. |
