Default SpA Minecraft(Classic)

The freebuild server I'm an OP at-> SpecialAttack.net Freebuild
(Just use ctl+F)

If you have the time, stop by and we can build and stuff. I saw that you guys had your own SMP server, but we all know that classic > SMP. Classic you can build much faster, see things better, and not have to worry about creepers, etc. but thats just an opinion.

I know these things, but some of us has problems with classic servers.

He's right on one aspect: Classic has no creepers.

Plus without the mob, beta just seems like classic limited.

There aren't any Zombros in Classic either.

*Waits for an SMP option of turning on/off specific mobs*

While it is limiting in that it doesn't have some materials, it is free, which is important in that more people can see what you build-

The difference between classic and beta, is that classic makes the game into a form of art that can be seen, shown and improved upon, while beta takes out flying, necessary to make good builds, adds mobs, and block break times, and limits your amount of building materials. Basically, beta ruins the artistic implications of the game while classic (and the WoM client) explicitly enhances them. And that is my view of it. Whenever (if ever) notch decides to make some kind of editor which is beta classic style, then I'll have a go at it.

One word: Mods
* Flying mod (Since when can you fly in classic, anyway?)
* Instant brick-break mod
* Inventory Editor/mod

Classic may be good for making art or sculptures, but with beta you've got redstone, many other blocks, items, plants - Lots of stuff that can also be used for making much more elaborate sculptures. I still use classic if I'm just making huge sprites, but for anything else I play Beta.

And do you know of any servers that will give me infinite inventory, no mobs, with turned off damage, increased lighting, instant bricks, flying, while editing the game enough to eliminate lag with 60+ other people on it, and heightened maps? And with the ability to place cactus off of sand, and other plants, or other materials in positions like such? How about with cuboid privileges? Other draw commands? And how much time do they spend trying to keep up with Notch's updates he puts out in terms of coding? ;) YMMV

And because you asked-> www.tinyurl.com/flyinginmc

Just a second.
Are you implying updating a game in beta is a bad idea?
What messed up stuff have you been reading?

No.

I'm implying that every time Notch updates the game, it breaks many of the user generated plugins for SMP servers, forcing many people to do a lot of work on it simply so that they can play the current version. The 'messed up stuff' I've been reading is from the guy who fixes it...

EDIT: The point of this wasn't to get into a large debate/fight with any of you guys over why classic is better (IN MY OPINION), it was to get you to come and play with me on the classic server I'm an OP at so I can see you guys again... I have yet to see any of you there, so it must have failed...

I started going on this server today. I gotta say the staff are pretty friendly there. I've built a few things there, btw. By the way Serenade, what's your username on there?
