For me,it would be SNES which brings me back memories playing Super Mario World all the time.I completing all the worlds and also playing Donkey Kong Country 2 at my cousins' house. It was hard and I never got to the ending, but I had a great time playing it.One of my favorite levels is the haunted Hall where you are in a roller coaster and a ghost chases you. There's a time limit and when it reaches to zero the ghost will kill one of the monkeys. To increase the time limit, you try to get the plus barrels scatter in the level while avoiding the minus barrels.
I remember forcing myself to play *shivers* Mario's Time Machine which was terrible. The gameplay was repetitive and you have to answer questions about history by filling in the blacks. It was really difficult since you only get 3 chances before you are force to go back and it erases the answers but luckly it only happens if you are in a place where you need to return the item.Plus if you return the item in one wrong order or spent too much in a area, you get a bad ending.I didn't know until I completed the game. After painfully writing the passwords for saving and reading the text for answers, the ending was horrible. It tells me that I need to finish quicker and go back and try again.I was really pissed. Why would I try again since going through this crappy game was really painful? There were a lot of education games in SNES but there are a lot of good games such as Donkey Kong Country Series and Super Mario RPG.If you come across this game, don't play it and burn it up.You will regret playing it, trust me.I just wish I get my time back from playing this game. I have a NES, but I'm currently missing the wires for it. I do have a Retro Duo (plays NES and SNES games) so I can still play the games. Besides that, the only other old systems are my GBC.
I wish my younger self would have been more interested in the SNES and N64. ;_; |

I still have my Famicom with the original box.
I'm surprised it hasn't gone all yellow by now since my Grandpa brought it back from Japan in '83 for my Mom/uncles. Last edited by MultiWishMaker; April 20, 2011 at 10:59:16 PM. |

The oldest console I own is my family's NES that we've had since around 1986. It still works great, too, granted we kept the 72-pin connector clean, and we hardly ever used it through the 1990s. Every now and again, I'll rock out with either Contra or Super Mario Bros., as those two are my absolute favorites in all of my 28-game NES collection. More on that collection in another thread.
