Default Pokémon Dash

Pokemon Dash

Pokémon Dash is the first Pokémon game released on the Nintendo DS. Pokémon Dash is a racing game in which you play as a Pokémon, controlled by running the stylus across your screen to make your Pokémon move faster.

Your goals in the game aren't just racing but also balloon races, in example. You also have to go through checkpoints, that allow you to finish the race. Some checkpoints (which are located on the floor) also enhance your current your speed, amongst other things. You can also insert a Pokémon Emerald in the gameboy slot on the DS to unlock new tracks. This is a multiplayer game, connectable up to 6 people.

Dash was my first DS game... I liked it, even though it was a bit naff. Is it really ONLY Emerald? I thought it was any GBA game... I liked running around my Deoxys!

Don't worry, I was confused when I first heard word of it.
Dongle method, or dual-slot mode, is inserting a GBA game into the bottom slot of the Nintendo DS to manipulate the selected game. As an example, we'll use Pokémon Dash. Without Pokémon Emerald in the GBA slot while playing Dash, You will play as normal. But with Emerald in the GBA slot, you will unlock extra racetracks, characters, and other things.
Now, this will also work with Pokémon Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum for the Nintendo DS. When you insert Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire, or Emerald into the GBA slot, certain Pokémon from Hoenn will appear in the Sinnoh region, in select locations. However, certain Pokémon found using this (Gligar, Elekid, and Magby) cannot be found in Platinum, as they already live in the wild.

Oh! I understand. I've heard of putting FireRed in the slot to get Magby in Pearl (though I never did manage to discover where it was. u.u), but I didn't know that was what it was called.

Thanks for clarifying, that makes a lot more sense, then. owo
