Default VR to be closed, server maintenance says cost of running too expensive (April Fools)
After the maintenance of the last three days, we have determined that the cost of running the server is too expensive to continue for much longer. We will be closing down the site on April 27, 2011, which is when the next bill will be due. At this time, we will be moving to a new server, which will have much fewer features, with some important ones removed, such as MySQL and PHP. This will affect (and disable) Victory Road, VictoryBattles, the Pokékaki, all dynamic pages on Floatzel.net, Victorydex, and VRIM.

In addition, all hosted sites that require these resources will have to move to a new host.

The domain name, victoryroad.net, will be sold to a third party and may be used for different purposes.

Sorry, everyone, and thank you very much for your time spent with us at Victory Road.

Don't hate. I agree that it is simple, but at least he did something. Maybe he was too busy to code up something really cool. The only prank I've done today was to wrap someone's mouse in clear plastic, so its better than I've come up with today.

I thought this was serious until about half an hour until I FINALLY GOT THE PAGE TO LOAD ON VR (it kinda only worked on Floatzel.net for a while), when I realized it was April Fools' Day. Did you know you hardly ever notice holidays when on vacation?

Also, April 27th is when I'll have been on VR for about 11 months.

...Wow, I've been on VR that long?

Er... It has nothing to do with where Cat lives, it has to do with what time the Victory Road Linux operating system is set to run on; which, in this case, is Pacific time. So... yeah, its the official time.
