I spent last night having fun at the ruins of Alph, and caught all the Unown I could catch after I solved the first two puzzles (Aerodactyl and Kabuto). I also spent it leveling my Pokemon for the Elite Four, and still have yet to go through Victory Road. I plan to do sometime this week. After I caught my Espeon up with her five other team members, I took a break from the game.
This morning I went to Union Cave to go solve the other two Unown puzzles, being Omanyte and Ho-oh. Ho-oh was the hardest, given all the pieces look similar, it's merely guessing rotations. I almost got frustrated. lol After I solved both puzzles I caught the rest of the Unown. The first time I've ever caught the first 26 forms of Unown, so it gave me some excitement. However, I didn't really receive any reward from it, other then one of the researchers putting the "Unown Report" in alphabetical order. I should do the same in Platinum, and catch the "!" and "?" Unown, and see if I get anything then. >.> Also, I found the "word" for the X Unown funny, being just "XXXX" XD While going through the lower floor of Union Cave, I caught a Shiny Onix. <3 That got me really excited. I wasn't expecting it, and was starting to get bored of the cave when it popped up. I'm definitely going to train it once I get all 16 gym badges. Then lastly, I picked up my Extreme Speed Dratini from the Dragon Shrine Elder. Also going to train it after I get all 16 gym badges. Time: 48:00 Badges: 8 Pokedex: 91/176 Money: 18,625 (I spent way too much on Poke Balls. T-T) Mommy Banking International: 61,955 Score: 5,475 Team as of right now: "Butter" Level 45 "DiCaprio" Level 42 "Beesly" Level 42 "Alexandria" Level 42 "Nyorodomo" Level 42 Espeon Level 42 (Still need to find a nickname for her. T-T) -- HM Servants -- :28:"HuecoMundo" Level 37 "Dragonsoul" Level 31 (Red Gyarados) Going to keep on training, probably go through Victory Road tomorrow, and use it as a grinding spot before I face the E4. Also, "Lindsey" is great name for Swinub, I heard (<.< >.>) she was named after the Olympic Gold Medalist, Lindsey Vonn. Last edited by Bread; March 24, 2010 at 09:38:44 PM. |

Ok no lie, yes terday I beat Red and got my BULBASAUR. I beat him with pure skill and determination. It may be hard to belive but, my team is level 50s-60s. I got down to his last 2 pokemon, Charizard and Snorlax. My team was almost gone I didn't know I couldn't use a sacred ash DURING battle so I'm like "OH CRAP". So I had to revive them one by one and he kept killing them but somehow I got the ones I needed back. Then I beat Charizard with my Luxray level 56 and then I used it to weaken Snorlax. Then I sent out Tyranitar so I could heal Machamp. I used Machamp got it to red and then amazingly, killed it thanks to Tyranitar's sand stream ability from before! I screamed. Now apperantly according to Serebii you can get a Hoenn starter from Steven in Sliph co. but even after the generator is running the elevator isn't and I want my Mudkip.

Used all 70+ balls I have on it (except master) and nothing. Jirachi makes for an easy wall as both of it's attacks to practically nothing against it. Will keep trying. I finally got to Cianwood after the long Surf, and all but one of my Pokemon fainted on the way there! Luckily, my Zubat finally evolved, so Dratini and Slowpoke are the only Pokemon still in their basic forms. ^_^ The water also helped my Pokedex, as I caught a Tentacool, Tentacruel, and Mantine! Now to get that medicine for Amphy, and Surf back. :/
:79: Level.23 Level.23 :64: Level.22 Level.22 Level.23 Level.22 EDIT: My Golbat lasted one level. I battled Eusine and Golbat killed his Drowzee, and right after the battle evolved. She must really like me :') I jst wsh Golbat lasted a tad longer... Also, Chuck is a complete JOKE. My Dratini took out Primeape with a problem, and died after paralyzing Poliwrath. Slowpoke burst in and Attracted Poliwrath, and I proceeded to Curse up. After I was at +6, I Headbutted for the kill. Really, Chuck was the easiest leader of all. Perhaps because Primeape's Focus Punches never hit, even after the Double Teams... OH well. Last edited by Alakazamaster; March 25, 2010 at 07:19:06 PM. |

I caught Lugia second shot with a heavy ball. So I weakened it and then made it sleep with the aide of my Venusaur and threw one, fail second, CAUGHT. By the way I have a HeartGold so Lugia was level 70.

I beat Red, mainly with my Lv. 99 Typhlosion and Lv. 71 Lugia. The others didn't do much, I don't think Ho-Oh even got in the battle. I used the others as decoys.
I got my Charmander, but Steven wasn't at Sliph Co. when I went there. How do I get my Hoenn starter? |

Decided I was too lazy to train up the three dogs. Lost some good training between fuchsia and Lavender to the dogs instead of my main team. *sigh*
Tried Voltorb Flip in Celedon and I must say I like. It takes not only luck, but thinking. The answers right in front of you all you need to do is find it. Will attempt to figure out a way using my uber math skillz to eliminate luck completely, but for now, I can only find ways to merely improve your chances. Beat Blaine and Blue (latter took a LOT of luckhax) Got Rock Climb and explored cinnabar Went through Seafoam and caught Articuno Currently training up for either Kanto E4 or Red, IDK which. All I know is that before I do either, my pokemon need some serious level boosts. I have went through the gyms catching wild Pokemon, talking to everyone and enjoying my time. I just finished Jasmine and took a pause. The Pokeathlon is amazing... I am playing with it everyday.
My team is Machamp, Electabuzz, Crobat, Tangela, Vaporeon and Scizor. They are all in 28~33. I need to get a Jolly Synchronizer in order to get a good natured Gyarados. |

I have played a lot since my last post, but I was just too lazy to put up exactly what I did.
To shorten things up, I've reached the Lake of Rage and stopped there. On the way, I caught a wide collection of wild Pokémon, and evolved some, too. As with most of the HG/SS players, I've been addicted to the Pokéathlon, as I always go there everyday for at least an hour and a half, smashing records and earning dozens of points. I constantly improve my Pokémon's stats (without deducting any, too) with the help of Aprijuice. I'm also keen on the daily events, such as Buena's Password and Apricorns, as well as the Bug-Catching Contest (where I won first place) and the Game Corner (where I'm earning a lot of coins). And that's about it for now. |

---- I don't have time for a super awesome update right now, but I have been playing the game like crazy for the last week, given until yesterday, my internet was out, and I confided all my time into HeartGold. <3 I will say that the Elite Four was easy, my Mamoswine helped greatly with Lance (It also helped that my team was all level 48, except for Meganium who was level 50.) I also got all eight Kanto gym badges, and Blue is total failure compared to Cynthia. lololol I can't remember the levels for my team right now, but I believe Meganium is level 61 now, while everyone else is 58. Currently saved in front of Suicune, and recently caught Articuno, who was very easy to catch. I have to say, I really, really, really, really love Level Balls. Even though I haven't caught any legendary in one yet, they tend to "wiggle" a lot more then any other ball I chuck at them. XD Now, I'm off on a never-ending quest to find Erika, so I can get her number. Last edited by Bread; March 31, 2010 at 04:50:17 AM. |

Well, i haven't beat red yet, or the kanto e4, but I'm done with this run of the game. My pokes just have too low of levels, and I blame that on taking too long to decide my team/battling trainers in the middle with pokes I would end up not using.
I am going to trade over jirachi and shiny pichu to pearl and then re-start. I think I want to try a run through this game where I'm not facing lance with level 43s xD. The only point of that run I will post in this thread is when I beat lance. I'm going to post my team and it's levels to compare with my previous run. Just out of curiosity. |

So, since my team in SS was nowhere near Elite Four potential, I caught Lugia, named it SoulSilver, then plowed through Victory Road, beat Silver, and got to the VR PokeCenterMart, and commenced trading between SS and Platinum. I ended up recieving one of my epicly built teams from Platinum and using it to beat the crap out of the E4.
Team: Typhlosion/Typhlosion Sceptile/Grassdraco Blastoise/Leonardo Dugtrio/Tectonica Electivire/AA Battery Gardevoir/PK Rockin' However, even with my actual team from Platinum, Lance nearly wiped the floor with me before I could make a good comeback and beat the final Dragonite he had on the field. Now I've beaten Lt. Surge, and I'm wandering Kanto right now. Looking to ride the Magnet Train, but I need a Pass for it first. EDIT: Easter Sunday! And I plowed my way through Kanto's Gyms. I beat Blue, picked up Rock Climb from Oak and immediately went to Celadon to pick up the GB Sounds. Now I'm waiting outside Mt. Silver. I don't really want to go inside yet. Again, to shorten things up, I caught a Jolly Gyarados at the Lake of Rage, and obtained a couple of items there, such as the Choice Specs (as I remember). After meeting with Lance, I defeated Team Rocket in their hideout in Mahogany Town and in Goldenrod's Radio Tower (don't remember which one's first). Being in Team Rocket's outfit is really cool and epic!
Lastly, after obtaining the Basement Key, I headed to the Goldenroad Tunnel, and unlocked the door there. I paused my adventure at this point, and will continue on it in the upcoming weekend. Last edited by Shadow; April 6, 2010 at 09:34:14 AM. |

Well, my Red Gyarados is Impish, perfect for the set that I want it to run. I then beat the Team Rocket HQ in Mahogany rather easily, and went to challenge Pryce. He was very easy, despite my clear level disadvantage. I then headed to Goldenrod to catch some Dittos, and in the bushes... a Raikou! No status problems, and no damage done. I hurled a Heavy ball at it, and caught it. O_O' I was shocked. Now, to destroy the Rocket Radio Signal...

Now then. I'm going to start legend hunting soon. The only one I took care of before Red was Lugia. I want to import all my prized Pokemon from Platinum into HGSS before I do, though. The first Pokemon I'm heading after is Ho-Oh, since I have the Rainbow Wing. |

I traded my team from Platinum at level 5 all of them. They are my perfect pre-made team, and I have not lost to anyone in-game or out of game yet with them.
For now I am training my team. I am also still slowly getting all of the gym leaders to get to re-battle me so I can go on a spree of exp. by beating them all one after another. Luxray 72 Feraligatr 73 Tyranitar 68 Machamp 68 Ho-oh 68 Venusaur 69 Going to beat Red again (for more exp.), can you? Man, he was easy with my team, and they were level 50s. After some EV Training for my Beedrill, I got 2 Larvitars in Mt. Silver where I trained my Pineco from Lv. 12 to Lv. 31. Then, I traded my Forretress for a shiny new Beldum (named Iron >.>) and evolved it to a Metang after gaining 2 levels versus my Rival. Those battles at the Pokemon League every Monday and Wednesday sure are handy. ^_^
I plan to go through the Pokemon League 3-4 times now and I'll give my Pokemon the Exp Share to gain some fast experience. |

My team is horribly underlevel'd =p All level 38, except lugia whos just there until I get to a certain ice/dark type pokemon. >w< Hitmontop Dragonair (WITH DRACO METEOR =p) Feraligatr Ampharos Miltank (BEAST! Seriously, im raising one for my normal type gym after this. I went with the Whittney strategy and put attract on it. Lets me get off a free milkdrink if it works~! =w Also catching lugia was surprisingly easy. Amphy took its accuracy down with flash and thunder wav'd, and miltank took its health down and wall'd it. So, I'm going to be grinding my team against the E4 and Red repeatedly to get in shape for the tournament this month. I won't reveal anything about them except that I named most of 'em after a couple of songs.

... I pulled off the most epic capture ever.
During our Study Hall period, I decided to climb Bell Tower to catch Ho-oh. A friend of mine kept beaching at me to catch Ho-oh in a PokeBall, or else I wouldn't be a "true" Pokemon Master. So, I reluctantly bought 40 PokeBalls (and a free Premier Ball), and to be on the safe side I bought 40 Ultra Balls. I began ascending Bell Tower and got to Ho-oh. It faced off against my Lv. 100 Blaziken waaay back from Emerald. Blaziken nearly killed the legendary bird, leaving it at 1 HP. I decided to please my friend and chucked a PokeBall at it. One shake. Two shakes... Three shakes! Gotcha! HO-OH was caught! A loud "OH MY GOOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!" originated from my mouth and resonated across the classroom, causing everyone to stare in my general direction. I had caught Ho-oh, first shot, with a Poke Ball. Best. Day. Ever. I named my newfound legend "(FourletterswearwordbeginningwithF) yes" and then took it to the Ruins of Alph, where I proceeded to uncover the mystery of the Unown. Which was, basically, that some old clan really ticked off the Unown and they left them alone in peace. |

Nice nickname! And, congrats. You're the 3rd person I know who has caught Ho-Oh easily. O_O

Complete my Pokédex Catch Raikou Encourage my sister to beat Red so she can get Groudon (so I can get Rayquaza). and going to beat Red for the 4th time. I still don't understand why people reset their games. If you're reseting like Emerald so you can get both lati@s or to get all the starters then I understand but, you're not so it confuses me. I entered the Dragon's Den, defeated the trainers there, got all the items, and headed to the Elder. After finishing his quiz, Clair rushed in, gave me the Rising Badge, and headed outside. Before leaving the Den, I saw Clair one more time. She gave me TM Dragon Pulse, and went outside.
I exited the Den too, deposited one Pokémon from my party in the PokéCenter, and returned to the Elder again. He gave me a Dratini which knows Extremespeed, since I answered his quiz with the most compassionate replies. |
