Find a way to make an offline copy of the world before shutting it down.

I need some more opinions from people who actually used the server.

When the server wasn't shut down or out-of-date (At least before I got MultiMC to use older versions), the VR server was the server I always went to. I put in a lot of time and effort into gathering the resources I had (And I probably have more building materials and treasure than I do in any of my single-player worlds), and it was always fun playing with others when they happened to be online. I would be sad if the server was shut down for good, but like Green said: if it has to go, it has to go.

I worked really hard on the stuff I made in the second world (even though it got corrupted), but I've not been on the 3rd world much. Like Spiky and probably everyone would say, it'd be a shame to see all our work go to waste if the server gets shut down, but if it needs to get shut down, then so be it.

I like the idea of making an offline copy of the worlds to play around in. I'd rather play the world in just singleplayer than not at all.

Like all the others said, if it must go, then so be it. An offline copy should also be made available for those who don't want to lose their work. To make it fully work as a ssp map, however, players will have to deposit any items they're carrying into a chest. Otherwise they'll lose those items.

I have an update: the server was deleted by accident within the last couple weeks (which is why it's currently down). I have a full backup from April 16, as well as all previous worlds. KYA has a full backup, but it's mixed in with several other servers (and requires fully restoring to a machine to utilize).

Apart from GreenMan, has anyone used it since then?

I've been on it once or twice since then, though I haven't done that much major building or anything.

I obtained the latest backup (thanks, KYA)! It's from June 22.

With that, though, this server is officially shut down.
