[Side] July Roulette Pokemon Tournament - Discussion
STAFF PLEASE DON'T MOVE OR DELETE THIS. I HAVE APPROVAL FROM CAT.
Ladies and gents, boys and girls.. Step right up for VictoryRoad's FIRST Roulette Tournament! Now for those of you who don't even know what a roulette battle is, here's how it goes... It's just like a normal tournament, people sign up and the competitors are divided into brackets. However; the battling process is a bit different. You first must have one box filled with all of your competitive Pokemon (if you have more then 30, just put your favourites in the box). Prior to battling, you will pick six numbers from 1 to 30 for your opponent, and he will do the same for you. You must find the six Pokemon that correspond with those numbers in the box and use them to battle your opponent. So you could get any six Pokemon in the box, you never know what kind of team you're gonna get. Hence the name roulette! SOUNDS LIKE GREAT FUN, AMIRITE? The rules are as follows: 1. Absolutely no hacked Pokemon. 2. Sleep, evasion and OHKO clauses are all in effect 3. No ubers. Here is a list of all ubers.
Uber Pokemon
4. No luck/hax items. A list is as follows.
Banned Items
5. In order to qualify for the tournament, you must have at least four rows of a box filled with competitive Pokemon. If another competitor discovers you don't, you'll be disqualified. 6. All battles will be single, 6v6 and auto-leveled up to 100. 7. Above all, have fun! Please note that breaking of any of the rules can result in immediate disqualification. SIGN-UPS THREAD: http://www.victoryroad.net/showthread.php?t=3978 THE TOURNAMENT WILL TAKE PLACE ON THE 17th OF JULY. THE SIGN-UPS END ON THE TWELFTH. That works for me this time, cause the june tourny i couldn't bother to enter (cause of the of leaving thing), but i have like 6 boxes of eved pokemon's. But maybe i should just pick 30 pokemon in a box and hope for the best to get good pokemon, cause picking all 6 boxes will make this harder for the people to keep track.

Alright, keep in mind you're going to be sent any where from 24 to 30 Pokemon for each member that you're assigned and then you're going to have to check to make sure the Pokemon that they use in the battle correspond with the number they were assigned.
So I have two of the three Boxkeepers I need now. Who wants to be the last one? |

Not with the boxkeepers. Unless both of the people in the battle are working as accomplices, which is unlikely, and would only last them one match. Or if they lie about Pokemon's positions in the boxes, which again would only last them one match before being discovered.

I like how he edited his post but didn't bother to fix his spelling of secret. Also, I don't know how you could have secret weapons unless ALL of your pokemon were somehow secret weapons. Also, don't we have to show our boxes?

I would like to remind all of you that this is NOT the place to ask for battles that have nothing to do with this tourney, and it is certainly not the sign-up thread.
Please people, at least take the effort to read the title of the thread and know that it is for discussion of solely this tourney. |

Thanks, Blues and if you need help with your tournament. I will help you and I plan a tournament for my Pokemon Club so I know what I am doing. Also, when is sign up and how many people can join because I want to join. I will get my friends to sign up too.

(Please excuse the double post)
SIGN-UPS ARE UP! http://www.victoryroad.net/showthrea...1162#post71162 I had to push the date forward to the 10th due to some plans, but I hope you can all still sign up! Ningamer and Velociraptor are the official boxkeepers. |

Quote:
1. Basically, all competitors have to PM the box keepers the number of Pokemon in their box, and at what position they are at. Like in this diagram... 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 Its just an example, but the competitor would have to say which Pokemon are at what number. Then, when the player is assigned numbers, they must use those Pokemon. The box keeper then checks the battle to make sure those Pokemon were used. 2. I think he means that you just put the Pokemon you would use in battles in one box. They don't have to be completely competitive, its just better to have good Pokemon that could put a decent fight. 3. 24 are needed because everyone will be assigned 6 random numbers from 1-24. This assures that things are quite random, because if there were too few then getting certain Pokemon would be far too easy. |
