I don't think so, she very likely deserved it!

Here's what I posted on YouTube:

Quote:
In my opinion, maybe popping a couple rounds in your daughters laptop might have been a little uncalled for, but then again, I'd need to know what exactly happened. For all I know, your daughter could be right in saying that you were being tough on her. Either that, or your daughter was acting like a bleep and did some things to piss you off. If the latter was true, then you could be in the right here, but once again, I wouldn't know unless I saw **** go down. I just hope things improve. :/
I have a feeling I might take the father's side on this topic, though.

True but still he gave it to her and I think he just wants her to know who is boss.

That child will hate her father for the rest of her life now
She'll just grow even farther away from her parents.

That laptop was probably expensive, but the relationship between a child and their parents is far more valuable. The shooting of the laptop is a good metaphor for how both have probably been lost and can never recover.
Quite poetic in a twisted way.

Terrible way to deal with it. She'll be humiliated at school and has no-one in the world on her side. No parents, no friends.
Her Dad is just completely immature

In my opinion well who hasn't said anything bad about there parents behind there backs?
You can't just do something if your daughter has an opinion, that would like me shooting someone for saying I have a bad haircut behind my back it's just stupid and pointless.

According to this guy;
Right To Bear Arms > Free Speech

Which would you rather have?

I think it was quite harsh. What is worse than breaking her laptop is the fact that he posted it on the internet. Now, this girl's friends and neighborhood are already aware of the problem that happened between her and her father. Truthfully, he might be right about bringing private problems online is bad, but has he not done the same thing with this video?

Facebook certainly makes it easy to bad mouth anyone and everyone if you do it right. Whether or not the father handled the situation correctly I don't know. I don't have any children and doubt I will for quite some time. It seems like the father was using the tit for tat rule and wanted to get through to his daughter though I'm sure there is a better way then popping the poor laptop in the head with hallow point. I can't really say I'm on either side but the truth is the generations after mine and others I do wonder where they are going and what values we have lost.

Seeing as technically the computer was his, he had the right to do whatever he wanted with it. He just let his daughter use it, and if she bad mouthed her parents on FB, she deserved to lose the rights to it.

Here is a response to that video from a family member, she is a mother of three. Laurie: "On the surface, one might think that the father did a good jog making his point, but what I take away from it is, that the parents impulsively react and act out when upset, and taught their daughter the same. So they should not be surprised when she reacts impulsively to a disagreement with them posts her frustrations with them on Facebook. HE made a video for pete sake."
Figure no harm bringing in views from other people to add to the discussion.

He has every right to be angry, hell, I would've done the same thing, the whole video had him just angered, I think that household isn't supposed to say words like that, and when it comes to a disrespectful child, at least it's just a laptop, and he owned that laptop, nothing like a spoiled child needing to learn a life lesson; Every action has an opposite and equal reaction.

If I ever had a daughter like that, there wouldn't be a computer to shoot.

Mind you, if I ever had a daughter, I wouldn't hand everything to her on a silver platter. I'd make her earn what she wants. But I wouldn't be so "old-fashioned" like my dad is.

Not only did this video score laugh of the week, but I thought it was completely overboard. To make this video and post it on the internet for all her friends and stuff to see? Yeah, way too much. Giving off an "I'll show her!" vibe. And SHOOTING the computer? That's a waste of good cash! I'd keep that thing and mod it for MY personal use.
