Default URGENT: VIRUS ADVERTISEMENTS!

This is extremely important! If you get any pop-ups from your anti-virus software or Internet browser while visiting Victory Road, please try to get the URL of whatever files you received.

DO NOT ACCEPT ANY MESSAGES TO INSTALL A PLUG-IN FOR DISPLAYING CONTENT ON A PAGE except Adobe Flash.

Please do not report "www.victoryroad.net" or anything under that. Only report external websites. I've heard it might be the Smiley Central ones. (I hate those things anyway.)

The Trojans are being delivered through the advertisements. If I can get the URL, I will be able to block all ads from a given site from appearing in the regular set.

Through reports, the following programs have provided security information:
- McAfee
- Microsoft Security Essentials
- Norton Antivirus
- Windows Internet Explorer 8
- Mozilla Firefox 3.6

Yeah, for now, please use a browser without any ad-blocking enabled. Is Firefox the one without it for you?

(I really need to block these as soon as possible.)

Lately I have been getting strange messages over weather or not I wanted to save a link, I think it might have been a virus.

Guys, no need to change browsers. That was just a list of software that will help - Google Chrome, Safari, Opera are all fine. I haven't yet seen the problem myself, but then again, the viruses I'm sure are for Windows.

My understanding is that Cat actually wants us to see the Trojan programs at least once so that we can find their source URL and block it. However, using programs with strong popup blockers liek Firefox defeat this purpose.

Correct. I want anyone who can possibly do so to get the URL of the viruses. Do not download them, and whatever you do, DO NOT RUN THEM. All I need is the domain name (www.*******.com) and I'll be able to get rid of them.

Well, I've checked several forums/threads without finding anything. This did come up, though:

http://altfarm.mediaplex.com/ad/ck/3...221-0?mpt=6882 --> http://www.crucial.com/lp/index.aspx...ip&platform=pc

There was also this dead link:

Make sure to also limit your PMs to contacts and mods only and this way bots cannot PM you.

Oh dang, MediaPlex is a pretty big ad provider, so I don't know if that would be the best idea. What do you think?

And for disabling PMs, I don't suggest it, but if you want to (as a member), go ahead.
