Default Stupid Moves on pokemon

Name the stupidest moves that can be used by pokemon.

Right now from the top of my head I can think Gyro Ball on Typlosion because he has high speed and he's a special attacker.

I don't think it would be Splash... That move's a no-miss OHKO...

Anyway, Drain Punch on Alakazam is very useless. And a Wobbuffet with Charm. If you lower the foe's Attack then you're not going to do as much damage with Counter.

More like Electrode and Gyro ball. Electrode is one of the fastest non-pseudos there is. AND he's a special attacker.

Not really a fail move, but no Normal type moves on a Pokemon with the Scrappy ability is a fail.

Well, if you throw up a substitute and it doesn't get broken, then you have a free shot at focus punch. Otherwise you have to rely on prediction.

I always thought it was weird for Empoleon and Infernape to learn grass knot. How do they do it? do they pick up some grass and proceed to trip the foe? also Donphan learning ice shard. Maybe there's some distant relationship genetically between Donphan and Mamoswine also Arcanine and Heatran learning dragon pulse. I suppose if you equate legendary to dragon. Since Heatran is a legendary and Arcanine is classified as the legendary pokemon.

Any special move that Breloom can learn. This also goes for Absol, Machamp, Raiperior (I don't know how to spell that), and any pure physical attacker.

I know, right?

So, your Yanmega uses Detect or Protect and then the foe uses Shock Wave. Then you use Double Team despite knowing they have a no-miss move, with super effectiveness thrown in. FAIL.

To those who say "Gengar being able to learn physical moves and Breloom being able to learn special moves." I don't think the creators were concerned about whether or not the pokemon wouldn't be able use physical or special moves. But whether or not having certain moves would be anatomically correct.

Calm Mind on Sudowoodo, not only is he a bad special attacker but his only special attacking move is hidden power.

In Gen. V, Shedinja can learn Life Gamble, a move which faints the user, but takes away an equal amount of HP from the foe.
*Shedinja used Life Gamble!*
*Shedinja fainted!*
*[Pokemon] lost 1 HP!*

It would be just as effective to use shadow ball or something. Why waste a Pokémon when you can do >100 times MORE damage without KOing your own Pokémon?

I have no idea what Game Freak were thinking when they did that... v_v

Actually it does make since, it can take down Dark types which are super-effective to it.

Sandstorm on Tyranitar or Hippowdon, they have the Sandstream Ability and it is the only Ability they have.

Metal Claw on Tesshiido because it doesn't have any visible claws. Nattorei, on the other hand, can use the spikes at the ends of its whips to perform the attack.

Catching a Kakuna/Caterpie/any evolved form of caterpillar early on and it only knows Harden. Why can't they just know Tackle or Poison Sting already? Were they born as evolved Pokemon?

Razor Wind on Scyther and Absol. I never understood the logic of using that move back in the old games and it makes less sense today with them being "special" attacks on "physical" Pokemon.

I never understood protect/detect on any pokemon in a single battle. What's the point (other than draining one PP out of your opponent). And other than the move type, what's the difference between the two?

Well, effectively, there is no difference. But besides the types, there is an aesthetic difference, so to speak. Protect creates a barrier to block attacks, where as Detect allows a Pokémon to skillfully evade an attack by sensing it's direction, speed, ect. (one might even say it's also based on a Pokémon's reflexive and instinctive abilities as well.)

Protect/Detect is good if the opponent is using fly, dig, etc. or if you badly poisoned the opponent, burned, wrapped, or if you're in a sandstorm or hail. It lets you not take any damage while they suffer the effects of status and weather.

Nightmare inflicts a status that is similar to poison but only effects sleeping pokemon. That combined with Darkrai's bad dreams ability causes the opponent to lose almost a quarter of his HP every turn. That combined with dream eater makes you heal your health and they quickly fall into a terrible death and they can't do anything about it.
