Not to surprising, considering the success of the Pokémon series, but still pretty amazing.

Hope the same comes to the other regions!

Snap.

Hg/Ss is #13, and Black / White shoot straight up to #1. And it's only been out for what, 3 months?

Frigging awesome.

The Japanese must really like Pokemon! I guess it only shows what fantastic taste they have in gaming. Congrats Pokemon, and lets hope we have similar numbers here in the U.S.

Probalay not as well, as most Americans have quit the series, but still, alot of us still stay with the games! And congrats Pokémon!

It`s always nice to see the series still going (extremely) strong, despite the "for children" stereotype it`s been labelled with in recent years. Judging by the actual promotion of the games` release with the Shiny Beast distribution events (even IN CANADA, they NEVER hold the events in Canada), seems Nintendo of America is ready to properly back the games as well.

Weren't Diamond and Pearl also the best selling DS games? And Ruby and Sapphire were the best selling on Gameboy Advance? It's good to know the games are still selling asd well as they have been.

Can't believe it sold a lot in a short time. Pokemon would last for a very long time because of loyal fans whether they supported since the 1st generation or the recent one.

These news just go on to show how extremely popular the Pokémon franchise currently is; while this is evidenced by the sales revenue from Black/White only in Japan (for now), it still proves that Pokémon remains as one of the highest successful franchises in the world. It is also a clear message to the haters out there: you can rant about Pokémon all the much you like, but you will never be able to disprove the incredible popularity of the Pokémon series.

Considering that everything in B/W is pretty much new (all new pokémon, new areas, new concepts like Dream World) it's not very surprising.

Can't wait to try out White ^~^

Black and White have sold more in three months than HG/SS did in the whole year?

Wow.

Then again, HG/SS were released in September the year before, but still. I'd love to see how B/W do internationally, with all the hype around FPS games and stuff.

For the second best selling game franchise in the world, they'd sure as hell better be the top selling game in their country. Sales of the original Gameboy shot up by (around) 50% upon the release of Pokemon Red & Green in Japan. (I got that from Bulbapedia I think)

I remember when I was a kid, I used to think that the Gameboy was made because GameFreak made Pokemon but there wasnt anything that could play the cartridges.
Back then, everyone below the age of 7 thought the same, that the GB was made specially for Pokemon.

Heh.. Ahh Pokemon, how different the world would be without you.

Unfortunatly it won't be that way in America...Everyone wants the Halos, Call of Dutys, and Left 4 Deads.

At least Japan knows what's up.
