In a Pokémon Direct stream that aired this morning, two new Pokémon video games were announced: Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon. While very little actual game footage was shown, the bits briefly visible on the drawing board reveal that the two games will feature three-dimensional worlds akin to Pokémon X, Y, Omega Ruby, and Alpha Sapphire. They are scheduled to release during Holiday 2016 and will support nine languages: English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese.
It is not yet known whether these games represent a new generation or a continuation of Kalos. However, at least one new bird Pokémon is shown in the video. In addition, the Virtual Console releases of the first generation titles (Pokémon Red, Blue, Green, and Yellow) will support sending Pokémon to Pokémon Bank and into Pokémon Sun and Moon.
